When Shani became unavailable for personal reasons, I was put in touch with the owner who continued to communicate with me through the completion of my project. 2025 Adar did a room addition for us, along with installing a mini split ac unit and a 4 foot…read moreretaining wall. This year we had concrete poured and the foam was removed that covered the copper lines. We found that they were kinked. This mini split was not touch since they installed it so we contacted them. I was surprised they gave us a hard time, because we specifically kept reminding them during each phase of the room addition that if something was not right they would need to come back. Finally they came out and fixed the cooper lines. We also noticed that water was showing through the brick retaining wall, several areas were damp and turning white. The company that did the cement work also confirmed the problem. The waterproofing was not done correctly. They should have put on a liquid barrier and a material because it was a planter with soil. Several calls were placed, they said they would get back to us but never did. I thought since they worked with the Property Brothers on their show that they would be a company you could count on and provide quality service. I was wrong. They do not back up there work. This was the third company we had come out and provide a quote, and from that very first encounter it was apparent that Shay knew his business quite well and gave us a detailed breakdown of the costs, the order of the demolition and reconstruction subcontractors, and where in the process each payment would be due. Though the original estimates of how long the project would take (~6 weeks), turned out to be grossly short compared to what actually transpired (~5 months), it was no fault of Romano. Our bathroom fixtures and vanity were all on back order due to the increase in demand and decrease in supply and production during COVID in the winter/holiday season. While not every single thing was perfect at first, any criticisms or suggestions we made during the process were immediately rectified and they were very clear that our happiness with the end product was their primary concern. Additionally, every subcontractor that came to the house (demo, plumbing, tiling, painting, etc.) was incredibly friendly and respectful. We hired Finesse Remodeling to re-do our very tiny galley kitchen in January. After interviewing 3…read moreother contractors, we decided to go with Avi and Finesse because he showed the most enthusiasm and excitement for our project. I loved his attitude- he came in so full of joy, and never lost that joy throughout the project. You can tell he loves what he does. He was the only contractor who seemed to really hear me when I said what I had hoped for, and then he pitched his own ideas along those lines. We took almost all his ideas- which were really innovative and interesting. He followed up with me a couple days after the estimate (the only contractor to do so), and I figured if he was that interested in the job, his company would definitely do it well- I was right. A lot of the other contractors we interviewed made us feel like the job was too small for them, but we never felt that way with Avi and his crew. He always answered our calls or texts- which is actually pretty rare in this business. He was very responsive- never shirking responsibility- and definitely willing to fix any problems that came up during the whole process. That being said, there were a few problems. The project ended up taking about 2 weeks longer than originally estimated, and also cost quite a bit more. Some of that was just the nature of upgrading an 85 year old house (we had cloth wiring that needed to be entirely ripped out and replaced, and that process probably delayed our "simple" remodel by about 1 week.) Unfortunately, we also had some issues with the custom cabinets not being the right size, but Avi got the cabinet company to come back and make the fixes. The window sills were supposed to be made of the backsplash granite, but there was an issue with the measurements for that too, and we ended up with wooden sills instead. They still look great. This was my first experience with remodeling, and after talking to several friends who have had much worse experiences, it seems my issues were rather minor and not out of the ordinary. The most important thing is that Avi responded to and corrected all of the issues in a timely manner. In the end, all that really matters is the finished product. And the finished kitchen is truly beautiful! Avi's team, Luis and his son, were outstanding. You could tell they take a lot of pride in what they do, and they never half-assed any part of the remodel- the floor, the replacement dry wall, the trim, the window sills, the painting- it was all done with a lot of care and pride in making it right! The whole kitchen is gorgeous now, and I am extremely happy with it. I would definitely hire Avi & the Finesse team again!! GREAT JOB!
