Very kind, helpful and professional! I enjoyed my time there and they were very understanding about taking my toddler with me!

Dr, Francis had some tests run during the initial visit and as an initial action prescribed some medication via injection to aid in temporarily reducing the pain along with a prescription to reduce swelling and pain as well. (MRI ordered) Within the 3-4 hour stated time period to enable relief that did happen as explained and the prescription medication worked with the swelling. MRI results for the spine were reviewed with him today (4-4-2024) and the spine is a mega mess. Absolute phenomenal experience in the up-front examination and discovery followed with interim medications. Follow-up visit today resulted in a very in-depth review of the MRI results and subsequently provided me with a very clear and concise understanding of the written and visual MRI reports. A schedule is currently being coordinated with Dr. Frances, Houston OakBend Medical Center and myself for a very limited invasive surgery. Could not have been a better medical experience with an extremely competent Physician and staff. Footnote to this is, yes, you may have to wait sometime during your visit(s) but as stated in his medical facilities he "will see every patient himself" vs like the majority of medical visits whereas you may never see an actual DR. but a highly competent and Certified/Registered Nurse Practitioner.

My over all personal patient experience at Baptist Cancer Center is a positive one, yet there are…read moresome small differences from being a patient at BCC compared to being a patient at Texas Oncology. For Instance, Baptist is very busy and therefore I personally get the feeling of being just another patient to the staff and nurses and sometimes a little rushed, unlike Texas Oncology where there was never a check in line and by the second visit the entire staff knew you and called you by your first or last name, which ever you preferred and the overall atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. The wait time to be checked in at Baptist may at times have you standing in line waiting anywhere from 10- 35 mins. For instance today, my appointment was at 11 with only two individuals in front of me. I wasn't checked in for my appointment until 11:35 both front desk clerks were busy trying there best to answer questions to those ahead of me as well as had to stop and answer non stop phones rining. I felt they were doing the best they could but it made for a long wait. Once checked in, I was taken back to a room within less than 5 mins. The nurses are always friendly and the rooms are always clean and lots of reading materials to bid your time, waiting for your doctor, at Texas OC, your wait to be taken back after checked in can be up to an hour. I waited for about 8 mins before seeing the doctor, at TOC I've waited over an hour. Both the doctors at Baptist and TOC have exceptional bedside manner. Very personally, very kind, and make you feel as though you are top priority. The only negative I have about Baptist is the Chemo/treatment area; is very crowded with very little room for friends or family without you having the feel that you're sitting on top of the next patient. However I don't think they would ever deny anyone from having family or friends with them. At TOC, it's spacious and the patients feel free to socialize openly with one another as well as their families. All in all both cancer centers are amazing and I highly recommend either one.

I found that nearly all the staff involved with my grandmother's surgery communicated with us…read moredisrespectfully and had very little bedside manner or regard for human emotion. The aide on the bariatric floor never responded to my grandmother's call button, even after 30 minutes, until one of us walked down to the nurses station ourselves to find that she was coloring pictures. When the charge nurse, Judy, was asked about this, she responded in a rude manner and provided no help. My grandmother was in extreme discomfort and could not get to the bathroom by herself. Once the aide came to our room, she said absolutely nothing to any of us and waited for us to pick up my grandmother and her IV stand by ourselves then left the room without any help being provided. If it wasn't for our nurse and our own ability to stay around the clock to provide my elderly grandma assistance, she would not have received even close to adequate care. I am very disappointed with the staff's behavior and would not recommend that anyone allow their families to receive care from these people.
