I didn't get what I wanted nor is it worth the amount I paid. There is different nail techs and right now maybe two main ones ... I'm unsure but Jasmine was my Nail tech. She was a nice girl but did a rushed job. I explained to her how my boyfriend would be coming home soon and how he really liked French tips and even showed her pictures of HER work that he and I liked. It started off well but I think at some point she was behind on schedule (not my fault ) and started to rush. Apparently whatever style or design you want only applies to 1 or 2 nails. Because she asked me how many French tips I wanted per hand 1 or 2 (I was confused) so theoretically all other nails would be blank. Every picture I showed her had a design on each finger so in my mind I assume that she had other plans for my other nails but I was wrong. After the two French tips she wanted to put a clear coat on the rest. I requested a solid nail because two French tips weren't going to do it. My polish has bubbles and it's not even.... so Its areas you can see the brushstrokes or the acrylic underneath because it's thin. I brought it to her attention and she said the condition of the polish was because I took my hand out of the light ( again confused because I don't recall removing my nails prematurely) but okay. The nails are filed uneven... some go straight across and some have like a C shape curve at the top. Understanding that the filing wouldn't be absolutely perfect but the differences are very noticeable. Some nails look like I took a clipper and took a chunk out of the end. I asked her to file them straight across to even it out and she said I was requesting a C shape .... I wasn't I legit wanted my nails flat and to look the same. I had high hopes but they didn't get fulfilled and she really didn't care if I liked or not it was okay on to the next client .... Well that's what I sensed like I said she seemed like a nice person just feel time got ahead of her. I was called an hour before my appointment asking could I come 30 minutes later. So it's not as if I was late for my appointment & she had to rush. I came at the time that they requested. Waste of my Saturday morning and money because I will more than likely take them off and get them redone at my local salon. Outside of that the salon is pretty, it seems to be clean. Majority of the staff and clients wear a mask and there's plenty of parking. Can't speak on any other service I got a full set. You book online ... I doubt I will return.

I walked in, and I wasn't greeted, but was immediately asked how I could be helped. I told the older gentleman that I would like to get a manicure. I was immediately seated as it wasn't busy at all. I looked to the left, right, and behind me and noticed the stations weren't the cleanest. I got debris on my clothing from the station next to me because he was filing a woman's pink polish off, and it was going everywhere. There was a very pungent chemical smell in there that you could sort of taste in your mouth, which was kind of overwhelming. No one smiled, nor spoke to you, which I'm not used to at the places I've been to for manicures. The technician, Hong Mai (Lily), did not talk to you other than asking if I wanted my nails shortened. I felt like I was just a number. I'm not even sure why it's called "Herbal Nails." I didn't notice anything "herbal" that they used. Here is the process I experienced there: nails clipped, nails filed, nails soaked (without cuticle cream), cuticles cut, nails polished, nails & hands oiled, 30-second hand massage, hands washed, you pay and leave. I do not recommend this place at all. I just didn't like how it felt in there. HORRIBLE!!!

I did ask about acrylic overlay for my big toes as they often chip but Vivian I informed me they don't offer that and opted to use a bit of glue on one break I just got. I appreciated how she took her time and the end results were great. The business is clean and very intimate (I was the only person for the 1st 30 minutes of the appointment). I had my first appointment here on September 4th for a full acrylic set with gel polish. I have no…read morecomplaints about this set, and all nails remained in tact with no lifting until my fill. I made an appointment for a fill on Saturday, October 11th because the original set was holding up so well. During this appointment, I had the nail tech make the shape a bit more to my liking and did a simple French tip design. During the appointment, I noticed that (unlike other fills I've gotten), she did not go around the base of the nail to clip any potential lifting-- she just went straight into applying a new layer of acrylic. I'm not the professional, so I didn't think anything of it. The design came out beautiful, and I was again happy with the service. Unfortunately, two days later on Monday, October 13th, half of a nail popped off when I was wiping my hands. The acrylic popped off, but did not cause any damage to my nail underneath. They are closed Tuesdays, so I called on Wednesday to ask when I could come in to have the nail fixed. Ordinarily, when a customer is inconvenienced because of an application error, I would expect the service provider to correct it immediately. Instead, they told me to come in Thursday. I was slightly disappointed, but agreed. On Thursday, October 16th I went in and got the nail fixed. During this appointment, the nail tech noted she filed down too low on my nails and checked the integrity of the rest of the nails. She fixed the broken nail, and I was on my way. Two days later on Saturday, October 18th, I knocked a different nail on the stove. I've been getting acrylic nails for a decade and have jammed my nails much much worse and not caused any damage. This was merely a graze on the top of the stove. On Sunday, October 19th, I realized that this caused a crack in the middle of the nail. With some finesse, I was able to get the tip off without disrupting my natural nail, but this had already caused a complete tear to the middle of my nail bed, so I had to clip my natural nail down. Within a week of getting the fill, I've had two nail breaks and this was not due to any aggressive treatment to my hands. Worse, this second break has gone down to the middle of the nail bed, so I can't get this fixed. This is a luxury service and this shop has add on costs for everything (including for certain shapes). I can't, in good conscience, recommend this shop or its technicians because there are clearly quality assurance issues. The only reason I would return is to get the rest of this set soaked off because it is clearly a hazard. For the price, absolutely unacceptable.

I suspect she grew tired of hearing me complain about the state of my cuticles, but whatever.... Anyway, I googled and found that I was able to make an appt through their website. The system was easy to use, and I just picked what I wanted. Positive website navigation...check! I immediately received a text verifying my booking. I received a reminder text a few days before, and yet another one the day of. Communication....check. The salon is on Harford Rd right off 695 and there is plenty of parking in back which is great! Location...check When I walked in my immediate reaction was "oh this is CUTE!" Its a boutique salon, extremely clean, and homey but in the best way. I was immediately greeted by the salon manager (Im so sorry I can't remember your name) with a hello and a warm welcome. She immediately put me at ease, and I just felt so comfortable like it wasnt my first visit. The manager confirmed what I was getting and led me over my tech, Shradha. She gave my toes and fingers the business. THE BUSINESS!! She got me right! I got the special pedicure. You get your choice of scented scrub and I chose lavender. The callus remover is also included. They dont use the cheese grater. Instead, they use a motorized foot sander thing. They also use disposable utensils. My feet are smooooth, my cuticles have been loved on, and my polish is amazing. I love Shradha so much!! Shradha is very quiet and thats okay. I'm new, she doesnt know me, and she was all about getting me right, so I was fine. I just started talking to everyone else. The manager was personable and we talked about her journey to the salon, and the goals of the owner (which are fabulous and exciting! I love to see black women making big moves especially in spaces where we arent represented). I love talking to people because im 1. Nosey and 2. I'm a yapper. I also talked to the techs and its very clear that they operate as a team. Often nail salons are individualistic and I don't get that vibe from them. Everyone is a talented artist in their own right and they come together because they share a common goal for the salon. Let me not forget to mention the diversity on the team. I do believe that everyone was a POC and the clients that were being serviced were also equally diverse. I was extremely impressed all the way around. My service was gel soak off (hands and feet), special gel pedicure, and gel manicure. Total cost was $120+ tip. If I had to give a criticism, it was a super small one, the size of a grain sand. It would be the fumes of the chemicals. Towards the end of my service, it became more pronouced due to the lack of ventilation as the space is small. Ive never smelled it that pungent before so Im not sure if it was a one off. Nonetheless, I can fix that with a mask. It's clear that I had a fabulous time. I like to try something 3 times before I decide that I like it. But the thought has entered my mind that I might have to break up with my nail tech. It was just that good! Nee Nee was absolutely awesome and saved the experience. She was very communicative about my options for polish, service, and preferences. I was quite disappointed that they didn't carry OPI as they're the only polish that does well on my nails. They had lots of gorge colors. I chose a pretty blue and tan colors. I pray the polish does well b/c it looks great!! I requested a Gel Mani, w a Signature Pedi. Everything felt amazing, and she took her time.
