Julie is a FANTASTIC therapist…read more When I came upon her website, I was going through a very difficult, confusing time in my life where everything was coming to a head and the realization that I really couldn't work through it alone was not an easy one to swallow. I had contacted a few other therapists via email and contact forms on the internet and not a single one replied. Even though I wanted and needed to see someone, I was terrified. When I tried calling around to find someone, I would freak out and couldn't hang up fast enough even though it was just voicemail. One office with a lot of therapists wanted to wait list me, but nobody else returned my calls. When I saw Julie's webpage and read a bit about her, I could feel the panic dissipate some and I had a strong feeling that she was the one I was meant to see - even though she's a 30 minute drive (generally 45 because of i5 traffic at the time I see her). Julie replied to my email in record time. From the greeting and very first sentence, my feeling was confirmed. I was immediately happy instead of freaked out that she had a flexible schedule with time slots available that fit for me. I guess I was a little surprised as well because in my email to her I gave 4-5 specific topic matters that I knew would be big points during therapy (when and IF I decided to see someone) and she wasn't phased by what I'm dealing with. You harbor secrets and shame for so long that when telling someone for the first time, or even just someone that didn't already know, makes you imagine what their reaction may be to this horrid information.. and of course, you always think the worst. We tend to feel like nobody really understands - even others that went through the same things. Julie was able to schedule me for an appt, that was not long after our initial contact, to do the free intake session. I was very pleased that the first session was free so that I could be sure before making a commitment both emotionally and monetarily. When I arrived for the intake, the anxiety had begun to build up inside of me again and it took a lot of reasoning with myself to even get out of the car. As soon as she said "hello", I immediately began to relax. She offered me water and had tissue within reach of the comfortable sofa I was sitting in. (I say 'in' rather than on because it is very comfortable and welcoming). The atmosphere was soothing; beautiful in an understated way, with a "homey" feel. I imagine psychologists are taught lessons pertaining specifically to ambiance and that what Julie has put together is what others strive for. Fortunately, though; it all feels as though it came natural to her.. like she didn't have to TRY. In the past, I had seen two other therapists for short periods of time - one had over-the-top, blatantly expensive decor with gold accents and a hauty feel (he also wore a lot of bright yellow gold.. lol); the other was a small room in a converted basement that you went down a narrow set of stairs to get to with little more than a stiff, old antique chair and dusty books where the ceiling was too short for your average sized male and there was no door. Julie's office is just right, with unobtrusive bits of art and natural beauty that bring subtle relaxation. (IOW - Ya done good, Julie! Hahaa..) She is a great listener and has an amazing talent for remembering what you said 10 minutes ago, or even in sessions past, and connecting it will something you've said in the now. She doesn't do that dry, bored, not-sure-what-to-say or make-you-come-to-the-conclusion-yourself "why don't you tell me?"/"is that what YOU think?" bit EVERY TIME. She encourages, listens, reminds and helps me through things. She actually works for her money (which seems rare in any field these days), but it has never come across to me as 'work' for her at all. Sessions with Julie are like a long talk with a friend that actually cares what you have to say and how you're doing rather than perching in wait for her turn to talk. I never feel rushed and I always leave Julie's office feeling like we've made progress. She is flexible and easy-going, pleasant and intuitive, with a good sense of humor, great use of words, is insightful and wise beyond her years. I would proudly and happily *highly* recommend Julie Holt to anyone in search of a therapist. This isn't just a job, or even just a career, to her - its a calling, and I'm glad she followed her heart. Terrible. My wife scheduled a phone appointment with her last week, and she called 45 minutes late…read moreclaiming she wrote down the number wrong and only had time for a couple minute introduction. My wife called several times while waiting and left voicemails with her number... it's hard to believe she was too busy to answer the phone when she was supposed to be on the phone with my wife at the time. So she rescheduled the phone appointment for today. Again, she never called. Again my wife has been calling her and leaving voicemails. This time an hour has gone by already and she never bothered to call and apologize for missing the appointment again. Would not recommend.

While it may sound hyperbolic, I credit Carolann with keeping me sane and healthy during one of the…read moremost traumatic periods of my life. Originally, I booked an appointment with Carolann because I was interested in trying to lose weight using hypnotherapy. After meeting or talking on the phone with half a dozen hypnotherapists, I settled on Carolann because she came across as genuine, caring, empathetic, and an experienced professional. Plus, she had a soothing voice which I thought would be perfect for hypnotherapy sessions (call her and you'll see!). Shortly after I began working with her, I ended up going through an unexpected and traumatic life experience that lasted two years. Carolann served as my therapist during that time and I credit her with keeping me sane. She provided me with a safe space to vent/process. She also was a caring and empathetic listener who asked insightful and thoughtful questions which helped me grow, become more self-aware, and better cope with my situation. And finally, she served as my unwavering champion during this time period, and I so appreciated her warmth, empathy, and support. It has been over two years since I last saw her and I still find myself drawing on some of the tools/insights she taught me. That traumatic life experience is behind me now (which I'm thankful for) but as strange as it sounds, I'm grateful for the experience because it brought Carolann into my life. I'm a better and more healthy person today because of her. She helped me understand myself better, taught me how to tap into my inner-strength, gave me the courage to be vulnerable and lean on my support network, and she showed me how to deal with life's challenges in a positive manner. Whether you're seeking a hypnotherapist or in need of personal therapy, I can't recommend Carolann enough. She's truly an amazing and gifted therapist.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This guy has prescribed anti-psychotics, and more, to someone who…read morehas never been diagnosed with psychosis. I should add, this is a patient in his 60's. He's prescribed medications that conflict with others to the point of malpractice. He is so medicated he cannot perform simple functions, which is alarming due to the rapid onset. If I were closer I'd visit this doctor in person to have a chat, and try to understand why he's ruining this person's life.

TLDR: If you have bipolar, Dr. Z is your man. If you don't, no worries, he'll treat you for bipolar…read moreanyways. ;) The 1st visit he kept saying he 'didn't have time' to listen to me, yet he had time to ask why I looked different from my picture in my chart. 'when did you cut your hair? Why did you shave the sides?' I have long hair in my profile picture. I have an undercut now. He spent no time building rapport, and was merciless asking questions about my trauma. He wanted very specific details. I've never had a psychiatrist need to know such specific details. It was traumatizing. He wasted a great deal of time wanting to know all about where I went for therapy 35 years ago, but didn't have the time to listen to my questions and concerns about what was occurring now. I kept asking 'Is this necessary?' He kept saying, "I'm just trying to get a timeline. Please answer the question. We only have so much time." He also tried to convince me to quit seeing my outside therapist, who I work well with, and instead see one at his clinic. I left upset and angry. I should not have gone back. The second visit was a video visit and he was mad at me that my sound wasn't working. He phoned and kept telling me to check my settings. He was getting agitated, so to calm him down I said, 'this seems to be working ok, lets just do it this way on the phone.' The third visit was the last. I have severe anxiety and I laugh when I'm nervous. A inexperienced psych nurse provider diagnosed me years ago with Bipolar II and put me on lithium, which did nothing, then she switched me to an antipsychotic mood stabilizer. Eventually I developed Tardive Dyskinesia, which is a very likely risk with mood stabilizers. I was unaware, but the Latuda I was on has a 30% chance of causing Tardive Dyskinesia if taken long term. I stopped the medication, but the TD never fully went away. I have it permanently now and will have to deal with that for the rest of my life. I was fine emotionally for months after stopping the medication. Then a very stressful life upheaval occurred and I was having problems with anxiety again. My therapist suggested a low dose of an SSRI. I was very nervous asking. I was afraid of this man and I have a hard time talking about my feelings. So I was laughing. I told him I laugh when I'm nervous. It seemed he didn't read his previous notes and I grew frustrated having to explain for the third time who I was and why I was there. So I was angry too. He didn't understand why I was so upset about the lingering Tardive Dyskinesia. He asked me angrily, "Who told you that you have tardive dyskinesia?" (my previous psych NP and my neurologist...) I asked him if he could consult with my therapist, he refused saying, "I see 15 patients a day, I do not have the time to consult with an outside therapist." Maybe see less people so you can do your job perhaps? So I said, "I'm sorry. I don't think this is working out, I'd like to end the call now." He refused. He said, "No let's not do that!" He continued to try and convince me I had bipolar II disorder, I was hypomanic, and I should be on lithium not an antidepressant. Lithium does absolutely nothing for me except make me feel fog headed. So I hung up on him. I should have trusted my gut after the first visit and not gone back. A different provider I saw later asked me this question about my insomnia, "But do you want to and need to sleep?" I said "YES! I'm so tired! But I CAN'T because I'm so anxious!" She said, "Then it's not hypomania. You aren't bipolar, you have severe anxiety and ptsd." No one had asked me that question before. She prescribed an SSRI, which I had taken before and did well on. The difference is night and day. I sleep 7 to 8 hours a night just fine without any other medication except the SSRI. My anxiety is much more manageable now. I'm doing a lot better. No thanks to Dr. Zanolli.

Then, before our next session, fired me as a client stating I needed "more therapy". Absolutely should not be helping people, if you can even call it that.

She was a perfect match to figure out the baggage that has been killing a 20 year marriage. We didn't spend too much time hashing out arguments, we weren't there to fight, we spent most of the time understanding ourselves and each other. Liz had us take some tests and showed us what make us tick inside. I was able to finally understand after 30 YEARS why my wife does what she does and she now understands why I do what I do! We still carry our baggage and now know how it has actually kept us together but it is so much lighter. Our weekly sessions became "date night" for us. The emotional lights were going on and we learned how not to be hurt by our actions towards each other it was just the way we love. We ended our therapy and all is good still. I would like to know though if Liz has any more techniques make a great marriage even better.

This is just fraudulent practices to bill insurance companies when services not needed. Had me electronically sign over 2 months after done and not allowed to read to notice they altered it after they knew I was gonna take action against them. I've drank maybe 5 or 6 times in my life ending at age 47. Put in assessment i told clinician I used alcohol and cannabis in the last year which I can prove a lie I was released from prison 2 months before assessment and my cco did alcohol and drug test once a week at that time and put in assessment I intend on keeping using when I never said this and my record and alcohol and drug tests in prison and after prison can prove I haven't used in past 12 months . So at all cost avoid this organization do yourself a favor get your assessment done elsewhere this organization is very unethical and even though they say in part of the assessment I don't need treatment and capable of demonstrated not drinking. In order to graduate I have to do a assignment on my addiction and recovery to graduate so they wanna force me to put it down I have a problem I have never had and can prove as I don't drink and hadn't in over 23 years. Because I choose not to. I was even told by clinician that they need me to say there is a problem so they can bill insurance how does drinking 5-6 times in 52 years and no legal issues but one and a few the clinician added to record in 2 months plus she refused to give me a copy of the assessment
