Chase bank has 1.3 score on trust pilot, right on par with black market sites, hmmm. Chase bank has a 1.2 score on this website, hmmm. I believe we have established a patterns based on facts. Do NOT bank with this company! I have had several experiences with this bank, first experience, they allowed someone to open several lines of credit in my name with absolutely no verification, wow that was super fun. A few years pass by and I unfortunately, decide to pick up the Freedom Unlimited card. I call them to set up my online account as a first time customer, this four hour call consists of verifying my information 10 separate times with 10 separate supervisors, all of which, of course would not give me their names or employee ID's, the summary of this call was for me to drive to a local branch forty minutes from my location so they can call them, hmmmm. That sounds productive. At this point I decide I will claim my cash back offer for opening the account, lock the card and pay off the balance. So I transfer the cash back from the Freedom Unlimited card to my personal checking account of twenty years, you know a Real bank, my personal checking account has the exact same name as my Freedom Unlimited card and both accounts have the exact same address. The system says, hey this isn't your account, we will have to make two deposits within 3 business days and get back to us with those amounts so we can verify your account. I go through this annoying process and it verifies my account, I then transfer the cash back to my personal checking account. I then receive calls, texts and emails from Chase that my account has been flagged for fraud and locked. I then call them to get back on the Chase hamster wheel of death, over the course of two days I call back 4 times to unlock my account for fraud, which apparently is transferring money from my account in my name to my account in my name, absolutely hilarious. I explain to the final supervisor, due to your error, once again, I will bounce a check, what can you do about that? He offers his apologies. Oh I thought this was a bank, where we deal in money and honor our obligations. Chase bank has earned every bad review it's been given, and will continue to do so. Just imagine the 100's of thousands of people who simply cancelled their accounts and didn't want to spend their time posting a review.

If you do that they actually let you collect interest on your checking account! It used to be 3% I think but then they lowered it to 1.5%. You can also use any ATM with no service charge. That is super cool and convenient. The draw backs are they are only in Utah. I lived out of state for a bit so that was kind of tough. They also have a very active fraud department. If you go out of town make sure you call and let them know or they will shut your card off. Also if you are out of town with a deactivated card you can only call them during business hours. Kind of a pain.

Several people were standing at the table, so I assumed they were completing forms and waited in the open area. I was then told that the line actually started back at the table, which was unclear and awkwardly positioned so close to the entrance that it nearly pushed people into the doorway. If that's the intended line, it would help to have clearer signage or a more intuitive layout. When I asked about the setup, I was told it was to keep the middle area open, but there was no clear purpose for that space, which added to the confusion. Unfortunately, the service experience didn't improve from there. The teller appeared unfamiliar with how to use an endorsement stamp and became visibly frustrated, which came across as unprofessional. Even when things go wrong, customers expect a calm and courteous interaction. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unwelcoming. Clearer direction and more consistent customer service would make a big difference. Will probably find different branch to do business at in the future.

However, the fee structure is excessive and not clearly communicated. I incurred additional costs because my car insurance did not meet their requirements, which was not explained to me upfront. I also was not made aware that a negative balance could result in significant charges. When I tried to address this, I spent time on hold only to be told the fees could not be waived, as they had already waived two earlier in the year. Staff are helpful, but recurring concerns--especially fees--don't seem to be getting addressed. While there are some positives, the lack of transparency and flexibility around fees makes this difficult to recommend.

The worst bank I have ever banked with in my life. Twice there have been fraudulent charges on my…read moreaccount and they would not refund them. One of them I had to go through the company that charged the funds and took me over 6 months of calling, leaving messages, and e-mailing to get my money back. The second time the lady straight called me liar and said my card wasn't stolen and I had to file a police report to show footage of the person using my card and even then they would only give me back 90% of the money. I closed my account and two weeks afterward a charge came in and they let it go through and didn't notify me for two more weeks the whole time charging me $32 overdraft charges and $5 or $15 every single day. Do not risk using this bank. They are dishonest crooks and will do anything they can to steal your money.
