In about December 2025, I was contacted by a sales rep from a company called Nuvei who said that the payment gateway was scheduled to close and "all merchants need to migrate to the Paya platform." She said Nuvei had acquired FirstACH. Then began a nightmare of horrible customer service. I still as of end of January cannot access or use the "Paya platform." I have been referred around to different company names like Nuvei and the portal is apparently on mypuresight.com. The sales rep who originally contacted me keeps trying to help but just keeps sending me a pdf of a manual and says don't worry. I actually had two organizations using FirstACH. I have had the same experience with the other organization, except the sales rep for it is even less helpful, just telling me to call customer service. When I called the customer service number on the FirstACH site, they just answer "merchant services" and when I asked what company I reached, the guy sounded like he didn't want to tell me. Then he said "Paragon." I told him I was calling FirstACH and he said they also service FirstACH. It's shady, layers of different companies owning who-knows-what and nobody to really help. (If you saw the 2019 movie Laundromat with Meryl Streep--that's what it is like.) I highly recommend avoiding FirstACH, Nuvei, Paya, mypuresight.com and Paragon and looking for a reputable company. I am looking for an honest company that is not owned by three other layers of companies and has reps who answer the phone and are helpful.

They wrongly drafted an employer's tax filing for the quarter prior to hiring them. I still don't know how we're going to correct that. We instructed them to increase an employee's salary by $5000 annually, and we received a reply back that "I can't do that because I don't know how much he makes. You have to tell me how much to increase his biweekly check by." The sheer incompetence of this firm will not only cost you in service fees and VEC penalties and interest, you will end up spending just as much time on payroll as you did before using their services. ...Only with Fiducial you don't have the peace of mind knowing it was actually done, let alone done right.

They started me with a brand new accountant who did nothing for me and there was no one overseeing his work. For months I reached out with no support. In the months after that I had 3 separate accountants. They were disorganized and could not keep staff. I paid a ridiculous amount of money to have them make an absolute mess of my finances. My current accountants are still working to get me out of the horrible position they put me in in 2020. They are now Howard, Howard and Hodges and I would absolutely not recommend working with either company. I gave two stars because they did, at one time, have some lovely people that worked with them.
