Pros: Steam room. Pool. Cons: Steam room that is never on! Pool that has 3 lanes which is usually full. There are also the annoying people who even with signed posted ignore them and take buckets of water to pour into an electric dry sauna. Seriously people, you are what's wrong in the world lol Staff is usually nice but often they can't really help what needs to be fixed at a management level. Management is often non responsive but I did get the attention of one person who one staff member explicitly decided that he couldn't stand and was a total b^*%#. When you have staff stating these things to customers, that is NEVER good. In any business. I was a member from October to July and I went an average of 4x a week. Maybe one of those times did I actually enjoy my steam room experience which is the ONLY reason I signed up. It either smelled of dirty feet, had black mold around tiles, or was just OFF. Now it's true I arrive about 11pm and stay till about 1:3am but that shouldn't mean I don't get to use what I pay for! They say they ha e no control over it blah blah blah etc. but I have lived in a complex which had a sauna and steam room and you could turn it on and off and everyone used it did just that. Gold's needs to adopt this because everyone I spoke to hated their steam room and most of those people were long time members who signed up for that reason alone. The sauna is always HOT and dry as it should be, but the idiots who bring food in there to have picnics there with random girls they are attempting to date is just gross. Take that crap elsewhere. This isn't some hippy retreat. It's a gym. People don't want to watch you woo some girl with pita wraps and drinks by the hot tub or in the sauna. *gag* Some of their equipment is outdated and some is brand new. That mixture isn't a good thing. The pieces that NEED replacing, do not get replaced. And the ones that are new, few people use them. If you want to just do squats and weights, they got you. If you want to shed a few pounds during 6am-6pm on some cardio class or Zumba, they got you. If you want to do a real circuit and use a lot of the standard stuff and have staff who can actually help you...that is hit or miss at this location. I also will note their roof is trash and needs replacing or fixing. Whoever thinks it's cool to have buckets all over a gym floor and in the women's bathroom - you sir/madam are a moron. The bathroom is usually serviced and is only done so by a male attendant. He's nice and chatty and I don't have any issues with him or that, but when he was on vacation it went to hell. Paper rolls were on the floor. Their was no soap in dispensers, you name it. It happened. So please Gold's gym do yourself a favor and keep that older guy on. Do not outsource to some random company or think it's okay for you to not service the bathroom when that one guy and his wife (who apparently cleans the men's restroom which to me is odd. Why not have her clean the ladies and her husband clean the men's?!) or kid are on vacation. Cause it's not. It's gross how that gym got in a 3 day period. I ended my two year contract because while I was told that I could use the gym membership I got at any Gold's gym, I was unaware due to their issues with the LGBT community in San Francisco, that they pulled every Gold's gym out of that area. So because that is where I live part of the year and was headed back, I canceled my membership. I had no issues with doing so. I wasn't overcharged or billed for the remaining portion of my unused membership etc. it was pretty easy actually and the online support I received was 3/5 stars. About the same as this facility. My only one real irritation was that I recently called as instructed to, and asked if I could get a two week pass as I'm going to be in town and need to stay active in the gym for medical reasons. I was told I could but it would be $55 which was damn near the cost of my one month membership WITH an add on! They told me a free pass is only available to those who have never been a member (LOL way to win back someone who was a paying customer), and that the daily rate was something like $19 and after 5 days it was $50 or the cost of a month. That is about the most moronic thing I have ever heard from a staff member at a gym. And I've heard a lot. Moving forward, I will not be doing anything aside a month-to-month with any gyms until I get a sense of what they care about and offer. This gym is solid. Not a huge place but then I have never been when it was extremely crowded. Personally would like to have more hammer strength type equipment but I understand they have to fit an array of equipment in a smaller space. Everything looks relatively modern and not significantly dated if it is at all. I've been to a lot of gyms and for25$ a month it's completely fair. I don't utilize classes or hot tubs or steam rooms so if any of those areas are lacking it doesn't affect me and I wouldn't know. Although I don't really use a locker or shower there their locker room seems fine when I use the restroom. read more

I used to love coming to this location. Lately, I go in and things aren't turned on or are broken. The dry sauna is off all the time. The hot tub and pool area smell moldy. The rest rooms smell bad as well and the showers are gross. There is a high turn around with employees. They are all nice and welcoming though, but dont seem to stick around. Watching the personal trainers, it seems like they would rather be anywhere else then training someone. read more

I use to love this location. Recently the men's bathroom is always dirty. Never toilet paper on rolls, no soap in showers. I have towel service and half the time they don't have any clean. I heard one worker tell a member he wouldn't get the towel service because the morning staff never washes them so they never have any clean. read more

I have been to a few other Goldsgym and this a nice looking one unfortunately their staff specially the trainers are a joke. I went to their Zumba class and felt I was in kindergarten dance class. They are untrained to be instructors they think that just by making people clap and do two step left two step right during the whole hour that is working out? Please get them some training on how to be an instructor! We pay for that! Instructors at least do your homework look up a YouTube video on how to Zumba or read a book or magazine on fitness to make you a better trainer. read more

I have been writing for 6 months to have Golds Gym in Edmond, OK on Danforth Road (Kickingbird location) to stop charging my bank account after canceling my membership in December of 2018. As of June 2019 they are still billing my account each month. I see that I am not the only one dealing with this issue. Please Please Please Golds Gym at Danforth and Bryant stop charging my checking account and refund the $259.74 in unauthorized charges for the past 6 months. Numerous emails and calls have not solved the situation so possibly these reviews will get someone's attention. read more

Terrible response time to any issues. I tried to cancel my membership right after covid started (today's July 23rd) because they shut down my location. I haven't got to speak to a manager after 5 calls and 5 different people telling me they'd have them call back. They have charged me more in late fees then there actually annual membership is. I have put in a request to have my membership canceled and this is my 8th time trying to be charged. You're managers absolutely need some new training and some customer service experience. I also don't understand why y'all closed both your locations but still charged any customer at all? I manage my own business and all I got to say is there several other gyms around here and If y'all wanna stay in business maybe look at your recent reviews because y'all are upsetting lots of people. Unfortunately, I think this place may just have the absolute worst customer service ever. Some of the employees here are jokes, they were unhelpful, untrained, unknowledgeable as there have been many times they could not directly answer questions I or my family has had for them, and their unseriousness and lack of respect is just plain rude. It really feels like high school douche bag guys trying to run this place. When they are actually, 20-30 something men. I hate to leave this nasty review, and I restrained from posting it for a couple of months to calm down from my bad experiences with them. But i don't think i have had worst customer service experience. They don't know how to handle a problem well at all. No customer service training, or any training at that, customer service training or experience must have never been required to be an employee here. So unfortunate for a company represented around the world. My family and I have been members at this gym for a decade or more. We joined when it was called Aspen and have been a member through the transition to Gold's Gym. I may not going to the gym all that often, but someone in my family account is. At the time of my horrible experience, my dad has been going about 3 times a week. I walked in one day and checked in at the front because I didn't have my key, I typically do this never had a problem. Two guys at the front were sitting down and barely acknowledged me. As I came up to the front counter and told them my name they never said even an "okay" that they heard me so I had no idea if they checked me in or not. After an awkward 2 minutes at least of sitting and staring blankly at them. They scanned people that came in behind me and they walked in so I said "Alright, we're good?" and started to get my water and keys to walk off. They said, "NO, wait." And i said okay whats the issue, and they responded "There is something wrong with your account". I said what kind of problem. They could not answer me for 5 minutes and i'm starting to get annoyed because no one is saying anything yet won't let me go work out and i know our account is paid automatically through our bank account so new it can't be a late check or anything. They said "Your account is terminated" I told them there has to be an error. We have been using the gym even just yesterday. And now they don't know how to handle the problem or even really explain to me anything. So they ask another guy to come, still while sitting in their chair kicked back and relaxed with no sense of respect or eagerness to figure out the problem. The other guy comes and is even MORE confused than the two at the front previously. He was their manager i'm assuming yet had a blank look on his face and not communicating with me either. Now I call my parents just to double check and she said no I see the check for the month, we did not cancel. Now a 4th lady walks by and since these 3 guys were clueless i asked her for help. Which they couldn't do themselves I guess. The worst part of this experience was that the 3 guys were IRRITATED with me that I was asking questions and confused, I was calm, I was not rude, which I should have been, but I had legitimate questions. You do not tell a customer their account has a problem. It is terminated, and then get irritated when the customer is frying to understand what happened and what to do next when they know there seems to be an error. Well the lady at least seemed to know what she was doing, and helped get the situation figured out. She gave me some forms to sign, and my mom wanted to speak with her which worked out because i needed my moms permission to sign the forms for all my family members to clear this problem up. There was supposedly a late fee from OVER a year ago. However, that late fee was not correct, an error on their part. Well.... they said that the forms will take just a couple days to process, but there is a note in all our accounts that we are good and can use the gym. However, the following week, my dad went in and the same thing came up and they didn't allow him in the gym. My dad who is relatively patient, and much more understanding than I am on some things was very irritated and came home to say they were "quacks" working in the gym. Sorry that was long, but it needed to be shared! Oh and not only has the service been bad, but I rarely hit the gym, yet each time I do, maybe once a month, there are multiple broken machines. Some of these machines they only have 1 of and they are popular ones, so I wish they would keep up with the maintenance there. read more

I love their water aerobics classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:00am. The gym was renovated when Gold's bought from Aspen and they upgraded many of the facility. I have also tried many of their group fitness classes and would highly recommend. They will also give you a free one week pass to try out the club. Time to sweat! read more

I have worked out here for 7 years, even when it was an Aspen. I love all the class instructors and many of my friends work out here. Currently, staff does not enforce the policy of "courtesy" to customers who want to share machines by being kind and working in on highly desired machines with others. Many of us are concerned that some members are allowed to be discourteous by "camping out' and holding a machine for 30 minutes or more while they monopolize it! I believe this lack of enforcement of the "courtesy rule" is one reason so many people I know have left to join the plethora of other gyms in Edmond such as the new YMCA or Mercy Fitness. Hoping management will take notice and things will improve! read more

This gym was very good staffs and opened 24/7 but now they are having mean staffs and they closed at midnight and 8 pm at the weekend. They also kicked you out from sauna and steam room 15 min before closing time. Also, they sometimes closed at snowing days while other gyms are open. I guess there is nothing being special about this gym paying about 40$ a month is wasting money read more

Was a member for several years. I worked with a trainer and had no complaints until I cancelled my membership. After three months and signing paperwork to cancel they are still billing my credit cards company. The card company has blocked charges but it still is a dispute. My husband and I have been a member back when this location was Aspen. We've never run into any problems, we mostly use the free weights, machines and treadmills. I will start by responding to this fake attempt of showing concern by this Christina L. That apathetic sorry is just an attempt to make a public showing of concern. If Christina L. was sincere I think she would have made a better attempt in contacting me. Christina L. I do know of the GM Danielle and had you done your homework you would've known I did mention this to her on this past Wednesday, June 15. Since you, Christina L. was not aware of this I will share how the conversation went, and how corporate really operates. They Don't Care! I shared with the GM Danielle how I went online at the end of April to give my notice of cancellation. She went in defensive mode as she spoke to me in an arrogant and disrespectful manner. Questing me like did you get a confirmation cancellation number were you able to print it. I explained to her that the Gold's Gym sight didn't give me one. Once I filled in all the information I clicked the submit button and on the screen it said submitted. I thought it was strange that the form was gone and it just said submitted. She then said you didn't get to the last page. Now in all my years of filling out forms online, this is the only one that did not go through while stating submitted. The GM Danielle did not offer any type of advice or assistance in any way. I then asked her if I could cancel my current membership there because Gold's gym had just purchased 24 hr. Fitness that day. The gym I joined to get away from Gold's. Amazing, you just can't make this stuff up. She responded by saying that the gym is not equipped to take cancellations and walked away. They are equipped to take your membership but not able to cancel. I have no reason to lie on this company because I'm just trying to do the right thing and cancel and move on. The lies and deceit are coming from Gold's Gym. Just want others to be aware that yes they are a large chain and for that reason it shows that they must feel as though they don't have to earn our business. Whatever you do with this company make sure you get it in writing and make sure you keep it in a safe place because they are not about customer service. They will just tell you what they think you want to hear and you will not receive the assistance you are seeking or even what they told you, (they will lie). I will be contacting the BBB as well. I just don't want others to experience what I have thus far. Read the reviews as you look for a facility because there is a lot of validity to what the customers are saying. KNOW THIS BEFORE YOU JOIN - Gold's bought this beautiful location from 24 Hour Fitness several months ago and it has changed for the worse. The facility is no where near as clean, or well staffed as it was, but the worst part is Gold's business practices. After having been a member for only 4 months, the first 2 of which were with 24 Hour Fitness, our bank account was charged without warning, "annual renewal fees" on Aug 8, which, for our family of 5, totaled over $270! The staff at West Edmond told me they couldn't do anything about it, because it was a residual fee from our 24 Hour membership and gave me their corporate customer "service" number. I cancelled all 5 of our memberships on the spot, received a "cancellation number" and left. Incidentally, there was another man at the counter at the same time as me, who was cancelling his membership(s) for the same reason. I called Gold's corporate people and, after spending almost 45 minutes on hold, spoke with someone, who spoke with someone else, who spoke to someone who gave authorization to refund the fees. It took Gold's Gym almost 10 business days to even process our refund, which returned to our bank account a few days after that, but, after nearly two weeks, we were done; of so we thought. Now today (9/2) I found that Gold's had taken monthly dues for all five cancelled memberships out of our bank account on 9/1! I called and spoke with the West Edmond manager, who said that he had no record of our cancellation and, even if he did, "it would not have been outside of 30 days, which is the required notice for cancellation" and, again, I was referred to their corporate offices. I called Gold's corporate number right away and, after sitting on terminal hold AGAIN, the customer "service" rep eventually did confirm that they had processed our cancellation on Aug 8, but reiterated the manager's line about the 30 day requirement and said we are responsible for the Sept 1 payments. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was transferred to a voice mail where I could only leave a message. I will update this review IF and when I ever hear back from Gold's corporate manager and let you know IF they refund our fees. In the mean time, I can assure anyone who reads this, that we will NEVER do business with Gold's Gym again and would strongly discourage anyone from doing so. I originally posted the above on Sept. 2, 2016. Later on Sept. 2, I received the following from Gold's via Facebook: "Gold's Gym: Perry, We are sorry to hear that you've had such a bad experience with your local Gold's Gym. Whereas our new clubs are still in transition to be updated to Gold's Gym standards, this is no excuse for the conditions at your gym. We'll be sure to pass this on to the local General Manager. They should have explained the cancellation process as it is explained in your membership agreement. These terms may vary by gym and by membership agreement type. If you haven't heard from Customer Care within 3-5 business days, please send us a message and we'll be sure to send an escalation notice with Customer Care. Thank you. Today is Sept. 12, and this is my response to Gold's: Dear Gold's Gym: In your reply to my post (above) you said to message you if I "haven't heard from Customer Care within 3-5 business days". Well, today marks the 5th business day (10th calendar day) since your message and I have neither heard from Customer Care, nor have I received a refund of the money you took from my bank account on 9/1.
