Really quick sign up for membership small line around 1pm. We love the YMCA so far!! Lockers for pool time to get your wallet secure but also bleachers at the pool to put your stuff!!! There are vending machines but you could bring your Stanley and snacks, I did!!! Plug-ins by the bleachers to charge my phone and laptop. Work while kids swim. Lifeguards on duty watching the kids no running. They have to do swim test to go down the slide. No life jacket and swim alone down the pool in the deep side. Swim class time for my 5yr old! Childcare area for the kiddos while moms/dads get that work out in. Walking track upstairs inside so my 4-month can be in stroller and not hot outside for my walks!!! Big gym for basketball players! We had our grandchildren's birthdays at this facility today, the service was exceptional, the quality of the room that was reserved for us was excellent, I don't know my daughter paid for the rental but I'm sure the value was equal to the all around service's provided it was excellent as well, this was the first time I have been in this building and I was very impressed, it even had a pool for those that want to take a swim, I think they have a basketball court as well , great place to host your events ! read more

I'm giving 5 stars for the classes I have visited. Alison H was amazing and helpful for the spin class. I also enjoyed Natalie B's yoga. My children love the childcare area *****safety is not great here with pickups. You can just say your kid's name or point at them and they will give them to you. That's a little worrisome. read more

Instructor knowledgeable of Silver Sneakers protocol. Workouts intentionally change very little in order for older adults to follow if they happen to miss a few weeks. Great variety of cardio equipment and weights. Pool availability varies but complaints of cold water in classes are typical. Personal training is available including physical therapy. Your "indoor running track" is a joke. It's literally just a painted cement 2nd floor slipping hazard as your roof leaks and drips water all over the "track" and the rest of the entire facility. read more

Awesome swimming complex! We have been here on a number of occasions for swim competitions, and the facility is very impressive. There is lots of spectator and athlete seating, and the facility is clean and events are organized. There is plenty of parking as well. read more

Beautiful facility but I would NOT recommend having a birthday party here. We hosted my son's fourth birthday here today and it was miserable. First off, there was a loud base-like humming sound permeating the party room. It physically hurt my ears as I tried to set up. More concerning though, my son who the birthday party was for, is autistic and is bothered by such noises. The entire first hour that we were in that room he was agitated, unable to eat, open his presents etc. As soon as I noticed it I let the party hosts know and told them about my concerns with my autistic son. They shrugged it off and said they didn't know what it was. Several other parents complained and tried to explain how big of an issue it was and how it ruined the enjoyment of the party, but they did nothing to even try to rectify the situation. Then it was time to move to the pool. We technically had 10 more minutes and we're waiting for one more kid to come back from the bathroom. The party hosts got really snarky and gave us an attitude that we didn't want to move on without the whole party and leave kids behind. Then, 15 minutes before the party ended, I got out of the pool and left to go clean up- trying to do the right thing and be out of the room in time. The hosts started lurking and reminded me that they had my deposits check and wouldn't release it until 100% of our groups belongings were out of the room. I worked to quickly load up the car while my husband tried to watch the kids in the pool. Meanwhile, the hosts went in to my husband and rudely told him that everyone with our party needed to exit the pool immediately or he would need to purchase them a day pass. He was left to wrangle an autistic toddler, a special needs 6 year old AND try to find and notify our whole party. Why couldn't they just blow the whistle and have the lifeguards announce this?!? We had to pass out party favors from our stroller as people left the building in a frazzled mess. I really have no words. I can't believe I wasted $200 on this extreme disappointment and complete lack of concern for children with special needs. read more

They don't uphold some pretty basic tenets of their Mission and Cause statements. I have a wonderful funny, and bubbly little girl who has some slight emotional problems during transitions. Instead of working with us and her to help, they did absolutely nothing and ended up kicking her out after only about 5 total hours of Summer Camp over two days. Their Mission and Cause statement are a complete contradiction to the Christian way and how they operate. Simply pathetic... Big space, clean and easy to get around. Bathrooms were hard to find around the gym area.

The free weight section is very small and it's very crowded all day. They don't utilize the space very well. We are canceling after just 1 month. It's impossible to keep your heart rate up while having to wait 10 min on equipment. The only thing to do is go jog on a treadmill and wait but then someone just sitting there will jump in front. It could be better. I doubt the GM works out so they just don't know! read more

This YMCA is by far the newest and cleanest. Toilets flush automatically. The showers don't smell. The ladies locker room is always spotless. Although only one hairdryer which hardly works. Their class selection is out of this world and the entire facility is legit! Indoor running loop above when you walk in. Daycare center where kids actually get attention at! Olympic style swimming pool which is huge!! Can't rave about this YMCA enough its by far the best! read more

I came here for the first time with a good friend of mine. We decided to get a workout in on a Friday afternoon at 5 pm. Therefore this review serves to primarily shine some light on the workout area. There is ample parking but the place was packed so we had to park in the farthest lot where the school buses were. We came to work out so walking wasn't an issue for us. The exterior of the facility looks great! It has a contemporary design and is very aesthetically pleasing. Once inside, we went upstairs to the weight room. The first I noticed were how small the lockers were. They were much smaller compared to other gyms that I've been to. When you walk in the first thing you see is a sea of cardio machines. Behind this section are the free-weights and resistance machines. Compared to the cardio area, the weight room section seemed much smaller. Granted it was a 5pm on a Friday, which can be a busy time depending on the gym, but it was very crowded. One example occurred when I was using the Smith machine. I was adjusting the weight on the bar so I could perform my set when someone, who saw me doing this, stepped in front of the machine so they could look in the mirror while doing dumbbell exercises. Again this review is only about the weight room as that is the only part of the facility that I used. Perhaps on a different day and time the experience would've been different. If you're going here solely to use the weight room, I recommend trying a different time. read more

have to do the math guys,,, this YMCS exist because it took huge grant from the city (govt). The pool arena is not even the YMCA's. It belongs to the city outright so they can use it for their good and we get the left overs. Ive had to leave, even after I called and they said the pool was open to public, when in fact it was closed for practice for all the schools or other private practices. maddening. they don't tell you this when you sign up. you see it all through glittering eyes and then quickly realize you can never use half the things there due to crowdedness, etc. really a bummer because the facilities are topped notch. read more

I am a new member, we had a great sweet young man give my husband and I a tour. We were registering our family later and a "manager" came over to the sweet young man and reprimanded him , in front of us. He embarrassed that young man who was so helpful and kind, in front of us and another co- worker. I didn't think that was too appropriate. Otherwise this seems like a great facility. read more

Not sure where to begin. They say they can't get lifeguards for YMCA pool hours. The pool is open to certain public institutions and they somehow have lifeguards for their events. I asked the manger one day about it and he said the city technically owns the pool. So the YMCA is in bed with the govt and it shows. Horrible. Always crowded here and you never know when the pool will be open to public. They mentioned none of this when we signed up. Even the good ole YMCA not so good anymore. I should be able to show up to the gym I pay to use (membership and tax dollars now) and use everything as was stated upon our tour before we signed up. Please get your shit together. Poor manger hated to have to explain all of this because they disagree with the way things are as well. read more

Management makes no provision for any morning lap swimming. They have an early water walking timeframe that has no prescribed program or supervising instructor. There is a clique of women who think that they own the pool and bully anyone new that tries to swim laps or anything else during that time even though this huge pool has room for 3 or 4 times the number of people that use it. There is plenty of room to share the pool but they bully anyone trying to use the pool with them. They also bully Chris Barry (executive director). At first he agreed to correct this as there is excessive pool space available and paid members should not be excluded from swimming in an unsupervised time with no prescribed class or instructor. The clique complained and bullied him so much he caved in to the complaining and bullying instead of standing up against their bullying. This doesn't represent the values and principles that the YMCA claim they represent. Because of this experience with Chris Barry we searched out and found another facility in Edmond that has a hot tub, sauna and large pool that allows swimming (including lap swimming) almost any time of day from 5:00 AM until 9:00 PM. Their facility is very clean, larger than the YMCA, has all equipment the Y has, a walk area, classes and very nice accommodating employees. It is significantly less expensive as well. It is appalling that the YMCA does not give veterans or senior citizens any discounts. We are Edmond homeowners and taxpayers that send a stream of monetary taxes as the City portion and the school portion to the YMCA. This is disappointing to say the least but allowing bullying is an unacceptable situation! read more

The pool is great. The problem it, it is never open to the public. A grossly ill-advised "partnership" with the YMCA, the City and the Edmond City Schools basically means the pool is only for the Edmond schools, who take them over all the time. For example there is NEVER any evening hours of swimming, and this summer there is essentially NO morning hours of swimming! The YMCA is grossly misleading in calling this a "YMCA", it is basically a fitness area, an indoor walking track and a pool which is used all the time. We are canceling out membership. We will demand a refund for the unused months as we feel the YMCA is grossly misleading the public. Not the "pool schedules". They essentially are available only from 12:00 p.m to 2:30 p.m. (and only Monday through Thursday at that!) since the school grabs it in the morning! Don't join this YMCA if you expect to swim! I was actually outside of the YMCA at a picnic pavilion for a group picnic on a Saturday afternoon. Very nice pavilion. Clean area, clean tables and large grill. Clean bathrooms on premises so no one had to walk away from the group to find a toilet. Close parking. Group leader had brought CD player to provide music while we ate and mingled, but according to him, the park said no music. read more

This is the most beautiful facility and very popular location! I'm a little biased because I'm lucky to call this YMCA my home location. The facility is squeaky clean and always busy! I love the variety of fitness classes available at the tip of my finger with the app. The pool is incredible and sooooooo humongously big! The gym is full with brand new work out utilities. I love that they have a small area for stretching and a walking/running trail upstairs. In addition, this location is conveniently located at Mitch Park so you have the options of doing other activities outside after you get your sweat on indoors. I can spend hours here and I feel great when I'm done! read more

The YMCA is really nice but I have a complaint... On family swim nights the pool is INSANELY busy especially during the winter! And the lifeguards are really strict. You can't even jump into the pool! Much less hold onto the side of the whirlpool. So now if we go swimming we go to the Rankin YMCA. But other than the pool issue... They cancelled my paid member ship because I didn't use it for 30 days. They still deducted the fee for that month from my bank account. Took me another month to get it straightened out. During that time I didn't use the gym, because I didn't want to argue every time I went in, but they still deducted the fee. So I paid for two months that I wasn't using it. The staff was polite about it, but they didn't know how to help me. The supervisor was not helpful Her suggestion was that I call my insurance company to verify my membership, since it was set up through them. Why should I have to call anyone to fix their mistake? OK I just changed rating from one to two, since it is a really nice facility, when they will let you use it. read more

This YMCA is the best. Its clean, organized, huge, has great work out room, track, and the pool for the kids is awesome. I love that the kids locker room has locked door showers so I feel safe working out knowing that when they get out of the pool they can shower and change in privacy. The only reason they don't get 5 Stars is due to the fact I have taken my 2 children roughly 10 times and the slide in the pool area has only been open 2 times. When I asked why it was not open, the lifeguard said it was up to the head lifeguard if they would open or close the slide. My partner mentioned it to the front desk, they acted like it should always be open. Again I asked a lifeguard the next time we were in and they said its only open if staffing allows. So, in closing.... That makes it hard to give them 5 Stars. Compared to the other YMCA facilities, this one is the Hilton. But, they have a slide that works and are not using and I know it disappoints my kids and that bothers me. If they can't afford to staff the slide or if they don't have a set schedule, then make one. I don't feel letting the decision be made by a 16 year old (or younger) lifeguard is fair. read more

Horrible staff! Very rude and lazy. The manager did not seem to care much. The child watch hours are ridiculous. As a working parent with a 4 year old the weekend is the best time for us to attend. The schedule on the weekend is not very accomodating. They say they are a family friendly place but really that only applies if your children are older. Their policies are absurd! First time I have enrolled at a YMCA and I am duly impressed with the MP facility. Clean, well laid out, good pool hours. The only reason I do not award five stars is that the pool water ranges fro cool-cold AND the AC is always on. I have mentioned this to the staff and from time to time adjustments are made and conform levels restored but despite the numerous lifeguards on duty, they seldom achieve consistency in climate control. read more
