My review represents my visits shortly after fitness centers were allowed to open so we are talking about the later part of the June 2020 timeframe. The first thing is when entering, you are asked to spray your hands (they have a cleaning solution spray located near the counter/entrance). After spraying your hands, they will sometimes ask you to show them your towel. Every second machine had a sign indicating that it couldn't be used. They had cleaning spray bottles at strategic locations with paper towel dispensers nearby. The showers were closed. They still had free WiFi which I use for streaming Spotify. Their WiFi system uses a password which you will need to ask them for as I didn't see it indicated anywhere in the gym. I generally do my workout and if I have time and they are available, I will use the massage chair (they have 3 massage chairs but because of social distancing, the middle chair can't be used) and/or the hydromassage table. In order to use the hydromassage table, you need to speak with one of the Econofitness employees who will activate the machine for you since these machines don't scan your membership tag/band in order to activate. This means that even though this location is a 24 hour location, you can only use the hydromassage table when they have an Econofitness employee on staff.

As soon as you enter you can see that alot of time and effort went into planning not just the layout and decor but also the quality and functionality of the equipment. It's all brand new.....a completely renovated space with roughly 20,000 sq/ft of facilities including a big and well equipped weight and cardio room as well as boxing, yoga, pilates, spin, crossfit, etc.....everything you need to get fit. Then go relax in the well decorated locker rooms for men and women with showers, steam, sauna, sitting room w/tv, or get a massage. On the way out, grab a smoothie or one of the prepared meals on offer to take home so you don't order Domino's or stop by McDonald's on the way home and then completely negate the intense workout you just had. There are trainers on staff at all times to ensure everyone is getting the proper workout and you always have the option of taking individual or group classes. All the gym equipment was carefully researched and chosen from an Italian company called Technogym. I've been working out there for 3 weeks now and my workouts are better then they've ever been. The machines are very well made and have better range of motion and support for areas like your back then other machines I've used. Also, in our high tech world, the cardio machines (elliptical, bikes, treadmills, etc.) allow you to access the Technogym app to track your workout and accomplishments but also integrate with your Netflix account so you can binge watch all your favorite shows while sweating like an animal. The location is great as well and there is alot of parking all around. It's right behind the Home Depot on St-Jacques, which is great because you can go get your lumber and soil right after your workout.......as one does :) Over he course of many years, I've worked out at the Sanctuaire, Victoria Park, Mansfield Club, and others. B52 got it right, a nice place to workout that has everything you need and most of what you want.......I say most because there is no pool, tennis or squash. I did not get to experience more due to the following reasons..read further.. Like 3 weeks or so into my membership, I broke my arm. Technically the doctor said that I even should not run, anything with an impact was bad, so I had to stop going to the club. When I joined the club, me being a very detailed person, I thoroughly checked the contract I signed, and saw nothing suspicious. It said that for a good reason or so, you are allowed to put your membership on a freeze. Just for "short term memberships", you were not allowed to put it on hold. I had previously worked as a manager in 2 clubs overseas, and there we had weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, tri monthly, 6-months and yearly memberships. We considered the weekly up to montly membership to be short term, while the other memberships were long term. When I requested that my membership be put on hold, I was asked to get a Dr. recommendation which I did. After going back and forth, like them having to check with their head office if I qualify for a membership hold, the manager there informed me that I do not qualify (that is after failing to call me back when he promised and me having to call them back). From a personal point of view, this bothered me cause their contract was not clear as to what a short term membership is, i think this was unfair and if i thought my time was worth the nearly 100$ dollars i lost i would have pursued this with the Consumer protection office. From a professional and business point of view, those guys do not have a clue about what they are doing. The do not see any value in a client..especially a client who came through a recommendation from a friend, which is basically the best type of client. Instead of freezing my membership for a few weeks, they have lost my money (will never ever join a Nautilus Plus club again), gained negative publicity as i will gladly share my honest experience if someone asks, lost my lifetime value as a client including the services I could have bought as extra while i was there (instead of the 6 weeks when I had to stay home with a broken arm)... Not very smart, nor fair...

Oz and Don are the 2 partners who own the gym and they're the nicest gym owners I've ever met. This gym specializes in functional training and strength training. They also have parking available both in front and in the back of the gym which is very convenient.
