While on a trip with my family to Kauai, one of the beaches on the north shore wrestled me out of my wedding band of 25 years. My wife had a brilliant idea to get island rings and that would serve as my wedding band replacement. We were leaving in a couple of days and it was a holiday weekend when I reached out to Goldsmiths. They were closed but responded anyways and were sympathetic to our story and opened up for us to come in and select new bands. They elevated our already amazing vacation to new heights. Thank you so much Reid and family, we will never forget your kindness. Mahalo!

Yellow gold diamond bezel necklace. Way more sparkly in person!

I had heard about this place from a friend and decided to use a diamond from my old, unused, and outdated ring to be turned into a yellow gold bezel necklace. It was very easy to work with the jeweler and the final product turned out more beautiful than I expected. The gold necklace is dainty, but strong enough for daily use with the bezel covering the diamond very nicely. Totally recommend this place! FYI, it's way more sparkly and shiny in person than the photo.

Imagine the feeling of cruising Kaua'i, two days before your wedding, and hearing your fiancé gasp as she's admiring her engagement ring. With less than 48 hours to go, the ring had popped a melee stone. "It's not that noticeable, you'll never be able to see it in the pictures," she attempted to reassure herself. In comes Yelp. I started calling the local jewelry shops. Most of them were sales only, and offered no repair services. The ones that did had a lead time that would have the ring ready long after the wedding day. Finally, I got ahold of Mark at Goldsmiths. Of course he would have to see the ring before he could make any guarantees, but his willingness to take a look, even 20 minutes till closing, gave me an immense sense of hope. Upon meeting Mark, I could tell instantly that he was the real deal. A jeweler who took pride in his work and operated with integrity and passion for his craft. He gave me an estimate that was beyond fair, and would have it done before the wedding. Score! Naturally, my fiancé was reluctant to leave her ring. I assured her that it was in good hands. First impressions are everything as they say, and I had not even the slightest of doubts or concerns. I even had a ring of my own sized and refinished as well. I dropped the rings off at open of the following business day, and Mark asked that I give him until the end of the day. No problem, as I was relieved to even find someone who could get it done in time. To my surprise, I received a call only a few hours later that the rings were ready! I was in absolute awe when I saw the finished rings. Mark had taken the most beautiful and elegant piece of jewelry I had ever purchased and somehow improved upon it. The replacement stone was exactly perfect. He didn't just use something "close enough," to get the job done, or cut corners to save on time. He delivered the ring even better than I had left it. Better then the day I purchased it! Mark saved my wedding! I cannot thank him enough for his integrity, fairness, talent and dedication.

A ring I ordered turns out to still be a little too large and the store manager, Leilani suggested a half a size smaller and then had a special on a Ko'a Diamond one that is being closed out and on sale. So they located one, the last one in the company In Florida, in my size and it's on its way here now to make sure it's the right Koa color to match my gorgeous bracelet. The earrings I got for my wife's twin sister were perfect. I got my wife a pair and then realized, these were earrings to match a ring their late father got them in high school. I realized I couldn't just get my wife a pair and not a pair for her sister too. She's going to love them as much as my wife does. We're waiting for the ring from Florida to see if it matches my bracelet and then they'll ship all to me in California. Leilani, thank you for stepping in and suggesting I go even smaller, Andrea, Dorri and Ashley, thank all of you so much for assisting me. I highly recommend your store and your brand. You're a first class outfit with top shelf and world class humans working there. See you soon. As they say here, Aloha and Mahalo, Craig.

Problem solver, professional and I give her a 5 star rating given my frustration with the product itself. Kudos to her!! The second part is disappointing, I purchased the koa wood cross on May 20th 2026, and six days later the chain clasp broke. Shouldn't happen with so called fine jewelry. Now this wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that this is my second piece of jewelry that I am having issue with. I purchased a Black pearl bracelet in June of 2026, the magnetic clasp broke a year later, I brought it into the same location, they sent it to Honolulu and six weeks later I received the repaired bracelet only to have the magnetic clasp break again. The issue appears to be the quality of the product, I don't know because I read good reviews too, but my experience has soured me on the product if it weren't for the great customer service of the Manager.

Maggie had just viewed a ton of lovely local birds at the nearby Kilauea Lighthouse. There was calming feel to the Kong Lung shopping center. I spotted a lovely fountain and listened to the soothing sound of running water. Next to the fountain was the Lotus Gallery of Fine Art. I enter and breathe in a delightful scent. There is a sense of age in the wondrous artworks here. I saw many different jewels. So beautiful. Then I glanced upon silver turtles. Maggie placed them upon her neck and they sparkled in the mirror. From the look on her face I knew she was sold. Price was reasonable averaging $100/turtle. Shop owner was very helpful and knowledgable. While we did see live turtles from a distance in Poipu this is the tale of the origin of the 3 turtles Maggie has around her neck and her 2017 birthday present.

The outside mini garden complete with white Thai spirit house is so pretty, and in keeping with Thai traditions. However, when I noticed one Thai gold Buddha statue would set someone back $18,000, well, I decided I may be in the wrong shop. Perfect browsing for the hope-to-win the lottery set, or already minted millionaires, which makes sense since Kilauea is the home of many a newly minted tech millionaire --or really billionaire now, as the millionaire thing has become passé. Not to discredit, its not an easy feat to get Buddhist statuary out of Thailand, and requires jumping regulatory hoops (for good reason, to be sure you are not removing real antiquities of cultural significance) but shopping here is just not realistic for most mere mortals.

We were greeted promptly and allowed to browse un-chaperoned for a few minutes, which was nice. We ended up working with Kennedy, who patiently humored me (and also my SO) trying on many pieces and trying to find accompanying jewelry for things I already own. She was fun to work with and knowledgeable about the jewelry. She picked out a couple of things that I ended up loving, which my SO & I had overlooked ourselves. My original problem was with a ring I purchased the previous year. You can see the details under Frances M. dated 9/18/19. After my posting the Director of Customer Relationship Management, Heidi Gygax, reached out to me to get a better understanding of the problems I experienced. She was very professional and helpful. We settled on a mutually agreeable solution and I am extremely happy. I will be visiting the San Diego Na Hoku store to replace my former purchase in the next few months.....courtesy of Na Hoku. Thank you Heidi. Now, if some of Heidi's customer service attitude had made it's way to the Kauai store I wouldn't have made the original 2 star post :)

I found more contemporary pieces and could have spent more time seeing the large collections which incorporate Hawaiian art. We had just been to the Lihue Native Museum the day before. Go here just to see the Niihau crafted necklaces. Amazing. They have one of the best museum quality necklace collections for sale by some of the few remaining living artists. The rare and highly valued shells (kahelelani, laiki, momi, and kamoa), are found on the beaches of Ni'ihau and crafted by the island's residents into various styles of lei, earrings, and bracelets, equaling one of Polynesia's most precious art forms. There truly is something for everyone and they are finally back open after the 22/24 flood. What a great restoration! I did not take pictures because it seemed disrespectful. However, there is a flock of the prettiest chickens you find on the island and this business has recovered from one of the worst floods last year with 57" of rain in 24" hours.
