This location (not all golf galaxys) has the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. Particularly the people working the fitting bays. Every single person walks around like they are tiger woods and anything you ask them is a burden. I'm sitting in a bay trying a set of vokeys and trying to ask for assistance on the bounce level for my game, you would've thought I asked for a kidney. I've bought clubs here once, had a mediocre experience. This one im over it, I'll just drive 30 mins to the pga superstore over dealing with these yahoos. If someone from corporate went in and didn't say who they were, they would be floored how terrible the fitters treat customers. Every single time I've been here. Stopped by to inquiry about buying clubs and a fitting and left without feeling I accomplished anything. The person helping wasn't helping and the answers were non informative. I asked for a card and they wrote their name on a blank card and that explained his lack of knowledge and expertise even more as it did no instill in me the confidence to consider spending thousands on new clubs, bag etc. The reviews are mixed here and I would have liked to have found a fitting closer to my house. read more

Went there for the first time today. After deciding to get back into Golf a year ago I bought an inexpensive set to make sure I was going to continue. Once I decided to continue and get better clubs, I went there to see what they could offer in either new or slightly used club. Rory met me at the door and immediately asked what I was interested in and some background. We started looking at some brand new Callaway golf club sets. He had me sold on them. But after a while of fooling around with them, he explained they were not right for me. So he brought me in the back and tested me out on their machines and figured out what I needed as far as weight and shaft flex in the clubs. Instead of sending me out the door with a brand new $1700 set which I was ready to buy. He chose some slightly used clubs that better fit me as we found out, as I tried them out in the back They were Callaway irons and Ping woods He could've honestly just as easily let me walk with those new clubs but he took the time to see what really would work for me and I basically walked out with a whole set at a little more than half the cost. He was not pushy and he actually said to me a few times you do not need that more expensive club. He spent two hours with me. Never ever pushy. When I'm ready to upgrade again, I will definitely be going back to see him. If you want an honest salesman, go there and ask for Rory. He even reminded me that as a new customer I had a coupon for 15% off. He did right by me read more

I was just in the store. The people at the front desk were friendly. I wanted to buy a driver and a hybrid. I asked to hit a few clubs. The people in the demo section acted like I was disrupting their break. Borderline rude. I had bought two clubs at the other location two weeks ago and their service was great. It's been more than 90 days since I last golfed. To get back in the game after a major surgery and pick up an iron again this is the best place for practicing. This is the second time I have used this place to buy clubs and both times I have been disappointed. The first time was a driver that I was fitted for and when I tried it out on the course I couldn't hit it so I wanted to exchange it. I paid $630 for the driver. And it was in excellent condition. They offered me $238 in trade value for the driver I hit 10 times. I opted to keep the driver. Then I was fitted and ordered a new set of irons. I was told they would call me when they showed up but it would take about a week. After 2 weeks of waiting I called and the salesman told me they would arrive that day and they would call me. I thought that was perfect since I was off that day. They were closing at 8pm so I called at 7:30pm and the salesman told me the clubs arrived 3 hours earlier and I could pick them up. I told him I wished they notified me sooner so I could use them but it was now too late to get there by 8:00. So now, a day later, the manager calls me and tells me my clubs just arrived today. I tell him that he is lying to me since I was notified that my clubs were there yesterday. He said I was wrong. I'm not the one that wrong. It's him or his salesman. I won't do business with them again and instead will do my business with Edwin Watts. There they know how to treat a customer and offer the 90 day exchange. read more

My son bought a pair of golf shoes at golf galaxy. He brought them back to get a larger size. He did not have his receipt. He was only doing an exchange and they charged him the difference between regular and sale price. Again it was only an exchange not a return. Recently a friend reserved time for a fitting. They had no women's clubs to hit to get her fitting. Yet they still charged her for a fitting. Don't go to golf galaxy. read more

In all fairness if you know what you want and don't need any help this is a good place to shop. If you are looking for advice about what club you should use or getting fitting I would highly recommend looking else where. It is a very disorganized place any you will spend a lot of time following up with your order. I've been in the market for a new driver for a while. Went in today to look around, I found one I liked and had some questions about it. I did not like the way the 2-3 older gentleman working in the shop treated me. They were not very nice, they were short and less than helpful. I decided to swing the club on the trackman and I liked it, again had a question with a less than helpful and rude response. At this point I was going to leave at the PGA professional came over and saved the trip. David Seidel was very helpful and knowledgeable. He didn't look down on my like the other employees did. I bought the club and plan to use it this weekend. One thing is for sure you better ask for David if you go to this location. read more

I went to golf galaxy to buy a shaft for 9 iron that broke. I found the shaft that i needed but when i asked to buy a Ferrule which is used in the replacement of any shaft. I was told they dont sell them. They said that the Ferrule's are used for the golf repairs in the golf shop. I got management involved and they basically chuckled about it and mostly said that im out luck. Too bad. We are talking about a .50 cent ferrule. Well they lost my business for ever. Will never go back. They lost a $30 sale over a .50 cent ferrule. This is a horribly run store. DON'T GO THERE. Purchased the shaft at Edwin Watts and they threw in a ferrule and offered to sand/rough up the end of the shaft for my repair. read more

Golf Galaxy has everything you'd want in a golf shop. It has a variety of used clubs and all of the latest golf equipment, apparel and accessories. I've probably spent way too much money there in the last two years but the service has been excellent. I received a very good rate to re-grip my clubs and picked them up the next day. There have also been a few instances where i was able to get them re-gripped the same day. They also have simulators that you can hit on if you're considering a new club or want to check out a used one. I do wish they had slightly better pricing on some of the newer clubs but they price match if you give them a call. read more

Went to try out a driver that I'm very interested in purchasing. Gee wiz thanks for letting me hit it 5 times then lock it up and walk away. About a year prior -same situation and was about to purchase a 3W but was kicked out of a hitting booth so a salesman could fit a full set. UPDATE: Several hours after leaving the Golf Galaxy store, I received a call from another manager, Kyle. He apologized profusely for the condition of the "new" clubs that I received. He told me that he personally searched the national Golf Galaxy stock and found a brand new (in the box) set at a store in Vermont. He asked if I would still be interested in purchasing the set AND he mentioned that he would make it right for my inconvenience. I was overjoyed and emphatically accepted his offer. He expedited the clubs and I had them in my hands 3 days later! NOW THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE! He even reduced the price and again apologized when I went to pick them up in person! My husband ordered mine as a Christmas gift through Golf Galaxy online and was directed to pick up the set at a store (30 miles away). The set was handed to him in a plastic Dick's bag (no wrapping to protect clubs). When I opened them on Christmas the first thing I noticed is that the hybrid head covers were not in the package. After further inspection EVERY iron had been hit MANY times and the sand wedge was USED. All of them had scratches and nicks. You can imagine my disappointment after waiting so long for these clubs! So I took them back to our local Golf Galaxy hoping that they would help me exchange the obviously used clubs. I spoke to Andrew (the manager of the Clearwater, FL store). The best he could do was to offer 10% back. That equalled to $100...there was way more damage than $100. I asked if he could just order the irons and I would be happy (at full price). He said he could not because there wasn't a SKU number he could use to do that. This is the Manager of the store! He couldn't figure out a way to make the set NEW....as in the $1000 price that we paid for them! I asked how long it would take to reorder the whole set and he threw out "6 weeks" without even looking at his inventory or computer! He in no way wanted to help me get the new set that I expected! I was devastated that the only recourse was to return the set and get my money back. He wasn't even concerned that I was a return/previous customer that has spent lots of money at his store in the past 6 months. He just waved me off after giving me the refund! The second I walked in the door I was greeted and welcomed. I had no fewer than 2 people ask me if I needed help and when I told them I was just looking they couldn't have been nicer and said if I need anything just ask. I went to the Clearwater Golfsmith location to purchase a new set of clubs. I was greeted with a no-pressure, friendly approach by Brian. I explained to Brian that I was a new golfer but I'd had a few lessons. Brian spent almost 3 hours on a Saturday helping me very patiently pick out every club I needed and testing each on their computerized testing center/driving range. He gave me honest feedback and helped me find the right clubs without pushing me to buy the most expensive ones. We moved on and picked out a bag and shoes and again he was very patient and took his time. Once everything was chosen, he spent more time removing all the stickers with a heat gun and discarding the packaging for me so I could leave with a set of clubs ready to go. Brian told me that Golfsmith's policy is that if you don't like the clubs you've purchased, you can bring them back for 100% credit and choose different clubs anytime within the first 90 days after you buy them, even after you've played with them. Brian offered his card to me as I was leaving and it was then that I realized he was the general manager of the store. The fact that the store's GM spent 3 hours on a Saturday helping a single customer tells me a lot about Golfsmith's dedication to to customer service. I will absolutely shop there again in the very near future. Definitely one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had! read more

The support staff is helpful, however their leader "Al" doesnt know the first thing about customer service nor how to speak to customers, including but not limited to, bad mouthing his counterparts at other locations. On the upside, the staff is usually friendly. Otherwise they never have my size shoes in the brand I want and I have been looking there since they opened, sometimes twice a week. They also seem high on their pricing of used clubs. I saw a beat to heck Cleveland wedge priced at $79. I've been shopping at golf Smith for quite a few years. Golf galaxy is definitely not the same brand. The customer service inside the stores absolutely horrible. There was a man walking around the store that I asked for help it turned out to be the store manager named Glenn. I have to say he was not a very courtesy or polite man. The only thing he wanted to keep repeating is that his policies are not the same as golf smith and that they would not honor any of their guarantees. When I asked him why does he became very offensive and got extremely rude with me. So I told him I will take my business elsewhere. I spoke with Steve on the phone shortly before arriving she also confirmed that their customer service has gone down the tube and he is not proud to work for the company any longer. I went to buy a driver. I wanted an employee to help me with shaft and loft combinations. I waited and nobody helped me. Somebody finally asked to help me and i said i was deciding between two drivers and wanted to hit them. He pointed to a bin and said "there should be some demos in there" and left. Recently went to golf galaxy to have 2 of my wife's clubs re-gripped. The guy behind the repair desk told me to pick out the grips from multiple bins behind me. Being used to someone suggesting grips,I was struggling to find a proper grip and was offered no help. Finally found grips that said women's on them and brought them to the counter. The guy asked me " are these your clubs? " I was a little confused by the question and replied they're my wife's. He said I'm asking because you picked woman's grips and stated "I ask these questions for a reason", which I thought was an unnecessary statement. I thought you work with clubs all day couldn't you look at the clubs laying on the counter in front of you and tell they're women's clubs especially since Nancy Lopez Golf is stamped on the club head. Also overheard him talking to another young man with a club repair issue with an abrasive tone. While waiting for re- grip, I decided to see if I could trade in a used driver and inquired at the front register. I was told to go to a computer terminal and someone would be there to help me. After waiting several minutes no one came until I made eye contact with a sales guy passing by,he helped me but was not overly friendly. I gave the place 2 stars instead of one because the grips were finished quickly but I left the place feeling like I wasn't treated very well. read more
