    Pretty course with native plants
    Sammy L.

Just being outside and playing some mini golf in the cool sea air is wonderful! The garden is no joke, so many pretty succulents and California native plants. Play 18 holes and just enjoy the pretty scenery. We didn't wait for holes as they designed it pretty well. They put enough challenging and fun layouts to keep it varied. No food or drinks, just mini golf. Adults are $15 and kids/seniors are $12 I believe. If you have some time to kill, come and play a round. The cost is not much compared to the other activities in the area. Just bring a roadie and you are set!

One of the best mini golf courses that I've been to. It's well maintained and the courses are well thought out and reasonably hard. Definitely a cool spot to checkout in Avalon if you have nothing to do. It is $15 per person and comes with 18 holes total. I spent about an hour and 15 minutes going pretty slow. Also wasn't that crowded so didn't feel rushed. Worth checking out!

Golf Gardens was located directly across from our Hotel Atwater - altho all of Avalon actives are walkable and close together. I had read Mini Golf was a great must do with kids so we stopped in yesterday and the course did not disappoint. 18 holes. Incredible landscaping and such well maintained structures. The course was super fun for all of us (adult, 13 yr old, 11 yr old and 8yr old) The paths were not wheel chair friendly - however, we were able to move my mom from bench to bench btwn each hole. They were nicely shaded and convenient for her to sit and watch as she did not golf but still wanted to watch her grandchildren. I would highly recommend this activity to all ages. Overall course time took us about 1hr 15 mins... it wasn't busy and we were able to take our time and truly enjoy the visit. Yazmin was working the front desk when we checked in.. she was so incredibly kind to us all. Thank you for being wonderful! We would absolutely revisit Golf Gardens again if we find ourselves on Catalina in the future.

Mini golf is a great and affordable option for couples and families. For the two of us. It took about 45 minutes to get through 18 holes. Each hole was thoughtfully designed and fun to play. The front desk will provide you with your putter and let you choose a colored ball of your choice. We had a lot of fun playing in the middle of the day.

September 27, 2024 | Catalina Island / Avalon: We had so much fun playing mini golf, which had 18 holes! The course was so pretty! There were vibrant & unique flowers along the way & we even crossed a couple of bridges! We ran into playful themes; an alligator, a well-dressed eagle & even took a stroll along the Walk of Fame! What made the mini golf experience even more exciting was the warm energy & friendly smile from Warren, who welcomed us to the course & got us set up! We left smiling & excited to return! Thanks again, Warren! You rock!

Coolest mini golf course. Pleasantly surprised. Very thoughtfully laid out. Beautifully landscaped. Wife and I had a lot of fun .

Staff: Very nice staff. The man at the payment window was very friendly. Got us set up and ready to play quickly. Towards the end someone had a small cut so I asked for a band aide and he was more than happy to provide one. Great service! Quality: I was very pleasantly surprised by the course. It was well thought out, challenging, and really fun. Unfortunately 3 of the holes were closed but still we had a great time. Value : Very affordable Overall: Truly amazing place that you have to try. Lots of shade and challenging holes to keep you entertained.

This place was a blast! Prides are decent with a fun atmosphere. There are special hints for doing well on each hole. I shot 2 hole-in-ones! The grounds are clean and well kept. There is plenty of shade to enjoy between shots and benches too.

Mini golf is fun and frustrating. This best describes this mini golf course, me being a novice and all but it's all good.

There is also a "Circuit" ride share that will take you around the island for $2 per person. Coming in by tender from a cruise ship is great. The docking area is in town and so close to everything. I exited the tender and walked along the waterfront where I passed a few children's playgrounds with a pirate theme. Then on to where the golf carts are rented. I walked to the pier (Green Pier) where there are bathrooms and many small shops all hoping for the tourist business. They carry the typical port souvenirs. After a long walk on this short pier I got to the end where there is many people fishing with poles and the little set ups they will sell you for a few dollars and the bait too. There are plenty of benches to sit and watch the boat come in and out of the harbour. There is a small beach area that has lots of pretty colored little rocks along the shoreline. The walk to the round Casino Building is pretty much the end of the road before a mountainside resort. I passed by some waterfront restaurants that were even crowded on a cloudy day. My walk back to the tender was quick and the ride back to the cruise ship was also pretty nice and calm.

We booked a tour once to see bisons but didn't get to see animals cause it was raining. The tours we went by ourselves were much better! We saw many wild animals including bisons! The interior vineyard is so beautiful. The trips were very enjoyable but a bit of too much sun for me. Wear sunscreen and a hat to prevent sun exposure! Keep in mind that it takes 20 years to be able to buy a real car on island. Only one golf cart is allowed per residence. There are no spaces for real cars and more golf carts in Avalon. Our family and friends live here so they have a real car to take us to interiors. Yes you will need a real car to do that! Avalon has enough restaurants and bars to hang out. Casino is also a movie theater to show older movies on certain weekend evenings. They offer tours of this historic casino too. They host NYE gala every year. Beach club is great for summer times. Museum is small but still worth taking a tour. Too bad the spa has closed down, we used to go there all the time. This island has so much to offer. It's the best place for a lot of fun just a ferry ride away!

And this takes the cake as my all time favorite. The courses have great holes, with a large variety of simple classic style holes. But the place really shines in decor and atmosphere. It really leans into a more vintage vibe, considering this place is nearly 60 years old the grounds are immaculate, which is unheard of anywhere near LA. Amazing buildings and hedge arches dot the real turfed landscape. Vintage music plays out of old megaphones. Did I mention the place is massive? The parking lot holds maybe 400 cars, but expect it to be nearly full. It has vintage bumper boats, an arcade and 4 18 hole courses. Pricing is fair, 16.50 a person, and parking prices can vary but are usually free. Whoever maintains the grounds needs a serious raise, everything here is just perfect! COME AT NIGHT. (Our kids are 2nd & 4th grade so we weren't able to do it) There are 27 holes for the mini golf. Each course is short but fun for small kids and themed differently. Only downsize is that if there's a huge group ahead of you, it takes a while to wait there for them to finish before you can head onto that course. So that's the only negative of each course when it's busy even though we went as slow as possible and played the same course multiple times while waiting for the group ahead of us to finish. There's only so much you can do while waiting before another group comes up behind yours. The arcade is small but they have some fun games. The kids had fun playing them. Pricing is a bit high & credits needed to play the games are kind of high as well compared to other arcade places but the games allow tickets to be won so it was worth it for us since kids had fun.
