I stuck to the main floor with the clothes, though they do have a second floor with bigger items like tents. I love the set up of the store, though it doesn't seem very friendly for folks who aren't able-bodied with the stairs right at the front entrance. Not super great. The product selection is pretty good, with tons of backpacks and water bottles greeting you as you walk up the stairs to the main floor. The clothing is split between men and women and they seemed to have some pretty decent sales going on. Not going to lie though, I was drawn to the huge selection of socks. A bit weird? Maybe. But there's something so wonderful about a great pair of socks, y'know? Anyway, the Trail Shop is a great independently owned sporting good stores, and if you're in the area I highly recommend checking it out. I am from Vancouver Island, one of the Meccas for Fly Fishing and while here my plan is to use some of my spare time productively tying some flies. For those that know fly tying know that it is a bottomless pit of materials, tools, and equipment when it comes to the hobby. This place has a large dedicated section of both flies, fly tying materials/equipment/tools/etc as well as fly fishing rods, reels, clothing and other accessories. I'd say a one stop shop for sure. The guys that work there are both very friendly and helpful, more than willing to help with some advice or recommendations on fly tying materials or colours, etc. The pricing is on par with any other fly fishing store so no complaints there. The only very minor complaint is that they are slow to restock some tying materials, but what they do have in stock is more than enough to satisfy me. Good source of Hardy and other high end reel makers as well so you can go drool over those as well. Their hours are good. Open Mon-Sat 9-6 mon-fri and 9-5 on sat. I've been in the store 3 times in less than a week lol and will be in countless more times in the coming months before I head back west to put my hard work to good use.

After a mad chase through about four other large sports stores, this tried, tested and true…read morelocation of Cleve's in Burnside finally hooked me up with a couple packages of ping pong balls. Or, table tennis balls if you're super classy about your miniature sports. The building looks a bit rundown from the outside but it's nicely done once you get through the main doors. The layout is spread out by sport which makes things easy to find, and while I didn't need any help this time around, most staff seemed pretty enthusiastic when it came to helping other midday shoppers find what they were looking for. The downside? Well, the parking lot is a bit of a minefield. It's a one-way wrap around the building, although plenty of people are oblivious to this fact, and there are gravel sections, potholes galore, and tight squeezes around the staff parking on the far side. First the store is wonderful to browse through, there were two gals working when I went in, one named Carrie and the other Kayla. Both very pleasant and professional. A nice hello to greet me and then let me have a look around. This shop is new and carries, purses, artwork, jewellery, speciality items, they pretty much have all the basis covered here. But as I said , these items are not your average. One of my favourite things that caught my eye were things fabulous creatures called Sweet & Sour Gargoyles, they are made in PEI, and are worth every penny. The average was about $100.00. The artists that make these have fantastic imaginations. I want one! This is a must have for me, it is on my list , a collapsible water bottle in lots of colours, made by Vapur. This is freezable, dishwasher safe (top rack),rolls up, stands up when full, has a place to write your name on it, this is such a great bottle, is any of my family is reading this, guess what, you are getting one as a gift. These are only $11.99, a great deal. They also have in the back of the store a nice selection of baby gifts. There is a great item there, they are bears that you insert the hot water battle or cold. This store has lots of options for you to choose from. Kayla told me that they try to support the Canadian artists as much as possible. Most of the products they seek out are Canadian made. This alone is a reason to go to the shop and support it. I want to thank Carrie and Kayla for allowing me to take a few pictures, they were great and know their product lines. :)

The Halifax location is a good sized store and is well laid out, with women's fashions on one side and men's on the other. The selection is great, and the prices are quite reasonable. The staff are friendly and are always eager to help. Over the past few months they've had many savings specials. Recently they had a Ladies night where you save 20% off everything in the store, and they frequently have monthly specials where you save $10 when you spend $50 (upon presentation of a coupon). Overall, I've been quite pleased with this store and will continue to shop there in the future for myself and for others.
