Didn't care for the spätzle. I should've had the normal goulash. We ate a second time a few days later, and the sausage plate was very good. The frankfurters in particular were awesome! Drinks: good draft beer Service: better than average for Germany Ambience: folk old-time German restaurant Payment: cash only Overall value: average Misc: 2 minute walk from the Westin hotel; no WiFi

We had the light house beer (Helles), brewed on the spot. For dinner, we split the Frankfurter Platter, which offers an excellent representation of German cuisine, and comes with the delicious Frankfurt sauce. The sauce is a local delicacy and is a must with German food. The dish was loaded down with three types of sausage, eggs, roasted potatoes, sauerkraut, a pork knuckle, and about four schnitzels. I highly recommend getting this to share. It is diverse, and very filling. The atmosphere here is cozy, and their patio is a great summer hangout. Our server was very friendly and on the spot. This is a must-try if you are ever in Frankfurt and super hungry!

Keeping that in mind, eating at a place like Zum Drosselmüller can be a very enjoyable experience. There's not too much to distinguish this restaurant from the others in the area, as they all tend to serve the same people with the same food. My girlfriend and I came to this place due it an expansive beer/wine menu, reasonable prices, and accessible-for-English-speakers menu. They also have a nice outdoor seating area in the back. So far this review has been slightly negative, but Zum Drosselmüller's food is actually pretty good. My girlfriend ordered the Garden Salad (9,60 €) and I got the Roast Pork Knuckle (14,50 €). The salad was large and unremarkable, with large chunks of ham, cheese, egg and tomatoes on a mountain of green lettuce. Solid but you won't tell anyone about it when you get home. The Roast Pork Knuckle however was a sight to behold - a large hunk of pork with a steak knife stuck in it, as if signifying to the prospective eater that this pig was still alive twenty minutes ago and was killed *just for you*. Flanked in either side of your massive pork knuckle was a sticky and tasty potato dumpling and, speaking honestly, the best sauerkraut I have ever eaten. They could've just given me a plate of that sauerkraut and I'd die happy. It helps the pork was pretty good as well - juicy and only a little bit fatty, with salty and chewy skin you'll either love or hate. Overall, you can do a lot worse in Rüdesheim, and I walked away from this placed very satisfied and absolutely stuffed. I can't speak to the authenticity of the food, but what I had was pretty solid. It also helps the beer is awesome and served in obscenely tall glasses. I'd recommend.

Rather than stare into the abyss of Gate Z-97, I did what any reasonable adult would do: I escaped on a train into town. Best decision of the trip. This place was an absolute oasis. Staff was warm, friendly, and spoke English (thank you, global civilization). Beer was exactly as advertised -- cold, honest, and doing the Lord's work. Food was excellent and arrived faster than my flight did. The place was immaculately clean, which I noticed immediately because that's what we do now. Even the bathrooms downstairs were spotless -- a bold move and one they pulled off flawlessly. If you're stuck in Frankfurt with a long layover, don't panic. Get on the train. Come here. Have a beer. Eat well. Remember why traveling used to be fun before airlines ruined it. Highly recommend. Would delay my flight again (not really, but you get the idea).

Service: they are very busy hut they make do, u must call them with your attention, there were many huge parties around us, and still they got our orders out. It does take a while, so I suggest ordering pretzels they come out faster. Food: pretzels were meh, just something to much on while waiting on food. The pork foot on the other hand, was so good, very moist, lots of flavor. The saucerkraut that came with it was warm as well and tasted differently that the ones that came with the sausage. The potato dumplings were my first time but they were interesting and chewy! The gnocchi was okay. Some pasta if u like, nothing amazing. I liked the sausage taster though I forget what it was called exactly, but it had different sauces and different sausages to try. I also enjoyed the radler, it was sweet enough to enjoy the beer and it's sweetness.
