    Schnitzel

Had pork knuckle and my husband had the schnitzel. Our first meal in Germany and it was great. Service was good and the food was so satisfying and they decorated so nicely for Valentine's Day too.

Food was very good. Hubby had "pork knuckle" and loved it. I had a beef stroganoff type dish with spaetzle which was also very good. Casual dining with an excellent staff.

Second visit here and was not impressed. The schnitzel was really good as well as the mushroom creme sauce. The fries tasted like they were cooked last week. They charged me 50c for one packet of ketchup. While this is a great location and good outdoor seating, when you pay 25€ for a dish, they can provide packets of ketchup. Just left me with a bad impression to by nickeled and dimed. I won't go back. There are plenty of other places cheaper and less greedy to eat. The wonderful veal is not worth the price here.

    Can't miss it!

Nice, smallish neighborhood spot! A bit chilly for dining outdoors or this place would have been packed! Service was very good, efficient and orderly Spotless restrooms! Thank you! Dinner was delicious! Escargot were excellent and the cordon blue with salad and vegetables was great! Best cauliflower I had in my 2 weeks in Germany! A very very pleasant dining experience just a 5 minute walk from the Marriott

    Wiessbier (wheat beer)

We went to this place 4 years ago as a group of about 30 people. Wanted to come back and try the food as our last visit consisted of so much beer and wine drinking that I could not remember what we ate whatsoever. On this visit I asked our server to suggest something that would exemplify the German experience. He composed a platter of some iconic items, schnitzel - thinly pounded breaded pork cutlet, very tender and buttery, three types of sausage - bratwurst, frankfurter (I ate a frankfurter in Frankfurt!), and beef sausage. All the sausages had crisp, natural casings with an addictive crunch. Not too salty, not greasy and paired perfectly with the yellow, slightly vinegary mustard. Everything was washed down with the house wiessbier, a wheat beer that was served very cold. Took 4 years to get back here, but worth the trip back. A very, very satisfying experience kind of like having a Nathan's hot dog at Coney Island, a Katz's deli pastrami on rye or a slice of Juniors cheesecake, iconic.

Immer Satt 2018 Really late review as I couldn't find the name of the restaurant until now. A group of friends and I had lunch here on a very hot summer day. The food was excellent I think about it all the time. We ordered a couple of dishes for the table but personally I enjoyed the sausage the most. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. You also can't go wrong with any of their beers. Really compliments the food really well. When I go back to Germany I'll make sure to visit this restaurant again.

Just had the best meal. Veal schnitzel with a chanterelle mushroom cream sauce. One of the best meals I've ever had. Great service, great atmosphere, and even greater food! Highly recommend

Nice neighborhood restaurant that understands English. Food was delish. Ambience was clean and upbeat.

About a half mile from my hotel, Immersatt is a German restaurant. Well, of course it is being in Germany but the point is that they serve German food. Ugh. Of course, it's German food. Okay, let's try this again. Immersatt has beers produced in Germany on tap and their menu has schnitzels and sausages and the like. Better? Despite speaking only enough German to order a beer ("bier, bitte"), I was able to order dinner here because they have menus in German and in English (and maybe other languages). It meant a bit of reverse translation to work out that yes, "pork cutlet" and "German noodles"on the menu actually mean "Schnitzel" and "Spaetzle" and that seemed funny to me. My beer was poured fresh and I had a basket of bread to nibble on before dinner arrived. Two large pieces of schnitzel in a creamy sauce with a large pile of spaetzle. And some steamed vegetables. Big portion, very tasty. Clearly, there's no dieting in Deutschland this week.

Nice ambience and staff all speak English and are good at suggesting dishes to try! Beware portions are large - even by American standards!! My partner and I got 2 apps and a main to share and could not finish. We got the hand cheese music(?), beef sausage salad and a mushroom schnitzel. The schnitzel was by far the star of the show (as we should have expected)! The cheese is famous so we had to try it but sheep's cheese is a bit too strong for me and it had a harder texture than I prefer. My partner liked it though so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're adventurous!! We also got their homemade lemonade which was a fizzy raspberry lemonade. Pretty good as well but wish I had tried one of their ciders!

It is run by a husband and wife team and despite the restaurant being super busy (full of locals), service was still speedy! You can tell a lot of local airline crew members eat here on their overnights because they have one full wall covered in airline stickers. That must mean it's GOOD. On to the food! I ordered a cup of their goulash soup and it was SO flavorful. For my entree I ordered the pork schnitzel that came with the yummiest sautéed potatoes and onions. I will absolutely be dreaming about this schnitzel for days to come. I loved the fresh lemon to squeeze on top and the green sauce that they serve on the side is amazing. It is almost like a tartar sauce with lots of herbs. My husband ordered their split pea soup and goulash dinner that came with boiled potatoes, both were also superb! We split a side of their red cabbage as well. A must!! This dinner alone was worth the 24 hour last minute stay in Frankfurt!! Yum!!! I love German food!

And you're immediately sat at bench like accommodations. We had our dinner a bit early since we had just landed, but keep in mind during busier hours, you may have to share your table with another party. We ordered the spaetzle, the vegan schnitzel, a lemonade and an apple wine. It took a bit but everything (but the drinks) were delivered piping hot and generously portioned. The spaetzle itself was cheesy and tender, with a lovely pile of caramelized onions on top.The salad provided helped to cut through the richness. The apple wine was nice and tart. And for 3 euros they pour with a heavy hand! The vegan schitznel, could not tell it was vegan as all. Very similar to chicken, with a crisp outer shell. The herb sauce served on the side was a nice burst of freshness on an otherwise heavy dish. The staff was overall kind. Maybe a bit slow, but nothing to scoff at. I took a bus there so I can't comment on the parking situation in the area. Ambiance (4/5): From the outside, Atschel looks like a homey, traditional restaurant. Which is exactly what I was looking for when it cam to my first dining experience in Germany. There's a charming inside area with wooden walls as well as a patio area in the back. I sat inside. Drinks (4/5): Frankfurt is known for apelwein or apple wine. So when in Rome...I had the apelwein spritz which adds soda and Aperol. I will say that straight up apelwein is not my jam. It's nice to try while you're in Frankfurt, but it's too bitter and vinegar-ey for me. With that being said, when you mix it in with Aperol and soda, it's pretty solid. And if you're in a group, you can get the apelwein served in large stone mugs which is pretty cool. Outside of that, they have a lot of beer, as you would expect, and pretty much everything else. Service (4.5/5): I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and attentive the service was (which is typically not the norm in Europe). Our waitress checked on me, thanked me and said goodbye as I was leaving, and overall, did a great job. Food (4/5): Since this is a traditional German restaurant, I had to go with another Frankfurt specialty: Viener schitznel with green sauce. Schnitzel just means a thin cutlet (often pork) that is breaded. The green sauce is made from seven herbs and while it's a tad bit herb-ey for my taste, it was still interesting to try. The dish is served with fried potatoes. Filling and hearty as you would expect from a German meal. For my first meal in Germany, it was a great start to my trip.
