My son Noah received as a Christmas gift and loves the instruction from Langston he is getting and he has improved his game!

I've had a good experience w/GolfTEC. I bought a 15-session package (my swing needs a lot of help) and 2 things that helped most (for me and how I learn) were that by watching the film, I'm able to see what my instructor is seeing, which takes a lot of the interpretation out of the instruction - you can see exactly what you're doing wrong and correct. Second, my instructor Langston Banks took it step by step, breaking my swing down into each component move, getting the muscle memory for that, then moving to the next component. Basically, I built up an actual golf swing, which I didn't have before. I played first time since last season a few days ago - great improvement, especially irons. Had some great drives, but I need to keep practicing - the lessons were on point, I need to work at it. Striking ball better for distance and straighter, exactly what I was hoping for, so thanks for the help and great job Langston! read more

The swing evaluation was great. My initial intent was to purchase the largest instruction package. I decided to give them a chance and decided let me start small and if works I'll upgrade to the larger package. We planned all the lessons, I put them in my calendar. It went downhill from there. The following week, I get an email confirmation the day before to confirm the 1st lesson, and in the morning of the lesson they emailed me to cancel because the instruction had an emergency. They did not replace the instructor. I was understanding, let's wait a couple of weeks for the next lesson (that would have been today). I got the email confirming the lesson yesterday, and again, today in the morning I get another email canceling the lesson because the instructor had a family emergency. I request a full refund, and the Center Manager calls me and tells me that the refund will take 30 days to be approved, and then a few days to go into my bank.... And that they will charge me for the swing evaluation session.... What a terrible service! read more

Embarrassing performance by golf tech. Had an 11 AM appointment with the store manager.Matt Gould who never showed. I sat there for 30 minutes, and no one came by, or talk to me about what was happening. All I was told when I walked in was you can go to bay 3. I hit balls for 20 minutes and left at 11:30. And the entire time I was there no one did anything to take care of me other than send me to that bay. They have forever lost my business, and I will openly tell people not to go there. My mistake, never again. read more

Well I'll just say this service is not for everyone I went in though I was getting one thing and I ended up with something that I didn't want to do. Yes, it is my decision but don't try to sell something to someone when you know it won't help. Just be careful buying a $500 driver to get an extra 20-30 yard is NOT going to help you golf game drastically enough to make it worth the money. Spend your money on a nice putter use your irons to make up that difference, you use your putter more than any club in the bag it needs to be a good fit for you. read more

Had a really poor experience here this weekend during a golf club fitting. Let me preface this by saying I probably was not the best candidate for a fitting. I'm still working on my shot so lessons probably would have been the better option. That said, my wife wanted to get me something really cool for my birthday so she surprised me with this fitting knowing I wanted to upgrade my 30+ year old clubs. Didn't really know what to expect so I watched the video on Golftec's website before going. The experience I received didn't match at all. When I arrived, the coach instructed me to hit some balls with my 7 iron to warm up. The simulator was really neat. Nice to see your ball flight and get the immediate feedback. Unfortunately that was the only feedback I received the entire session. Eventually after hitting about 10-15 balls, he brings me out the first club to try. Hit about 5 balls and they feel pretty good. I tell him I like the feel. Then he disappears into the back. I wait and the screen is telling me to stop hitting with this club so I'm just retrieving my balls and chatting with my wife. New club comes out, I hit a few and don't really like the feel of these and I'm not hitting great. Zero feedback. I'm a youth football coach so I kind of want to help this guy and make this session productive. I'm trying to drag the feedback out of him. "What's the main differences between these clubs? What's a good launch angle? Man I'm REALLY pulling the ball to the left." NOTHING. Maybe 5 word responses and nothing I couldn't have figured out myself by reading the club. I even ask, "Do you guys give lessons here?" and was met with a simple 'yes'. What a time to jump on an opportunity! I'm begging him to give me some pointers or at least try to sell me on a lesson. Just nothing. So all told I'd conservatively estimate that I hit only 40-50 balls and tried 3 clubs, and 1 with 2 different types of shafts. Eventually I say, "I think I liked the first ones the best" just hoping to make conversation. Thinking it might lead to more clubs just like it. Nope. He actually asks, "Want me to ring those up?". No price. No sales technique. No hint of professional expertise given or a description of what makes them good clubs. Just asks if I want to purchase $1,000 of clubs without even discussing the amount. Of course I'm not buying after this, so I give him some lame answer like, "Well I'm probably going to shop around a bit, so if I could get my specs that would be great." I'm just trying to end this thing. Then, the coach giving a lesson around the corner pokes his head in and says, "You're not going to get a better price anywhere else". I don't think I have to explain why that comment fell flat. I'll end by saying I wasn't hitting the ball very accurately. I could imagine it's a little more difficult to nail down the best club type when I'm not very consistent. That said, if I'm paying to be there for 60-90 minute fitting, I shouldn't arrive by 10am and leave by 10:42am. If I'm struggling, offer a lesson. If I'm curious about the clubs, take the rest of the time to teach me the differences and show how they were impacting my shots. At the very least, make something up about all those fancy numbers I see on the screen and tell me why a certain club would be better for me. None of that and after watching the video on their website I can be confident that it wan't my expectations that were out of whack. read more

Refund service: 5 stars Golf fitting: 3.5 stars Client services/golf club ordering/office management/response time/courteousness: 0 stars I emailed in mid-July to make a fitting appointment as a gift for my husband. - Did not hear back for over a week and a half. - Emailed again and heard nothing. - Called and left a voicemail and heard nothing. - Called again and got Phil on the phone who seemed annoyed that he had received two email requests from me to schedule something. We went to the fitting appointment on August 16th and got fitted for clubs. - Lasted about 40 min. for a full set of irons, which seemed short but was fine. - We did not get the full set of specs from the fitting and had to call back twice to get that information so that we could price clubs online. I called the next day, August 17, to order the clubs, Phil said he would send a tracking number. - We never received the tracking number to see when the clubs would arrive. - Called again about the tracking number a few days later and finally got it. The clubs arrived later than promised and were not what we ordered. - Clubs did not meet specs ordered and fitted for. - Called Phil to see what was up with the clubs being wrong; instead of apologizing or making it right, he said the clubs sent mistakenly were better anyways. - Called back and said we'd really rather the clubs that we got fitted for (by him). - Sent the clubs back to Phil, who said he would send them to Callaway and reorder. I asked for a status update or tracking number on September 13. - No response to the email for three days. - Called on Sept. 16 to ask for a tracking number and was told only Phil can get that info and he would do so the next morning. - Called on Sept. 17 and Phil was still out. - Finally got a hold of Phill on Sept. 17, late afternoon, and asked for a refund. The refund was issued far more promptly than any other service from this shop. read more

Great new location for GolfTEC. Great staff from Tyson's now located here in a much more convenient location. I went in to check out the facility and was happy with what I saw. I will certainly be returning soon. read more

I am considered a beginner golfer and I was looking for a way to enhance my game and actually enjoy being on the course. GOLFTEC, and specifically my coach Eric Miller, exceeded all my expectations and greatly improved my golf game! The entire process is easy and stress free, from the booking of the initial swing evaluation and the follow-on lessons, to the lessons the themselves and the great facility they have, to the online portal where you can review your lesson and the tips and videos your coach recommends. I am so happy I found these guys and would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to improve their game! read more

I had a totally unsatisfactory experience at GolfTec Alexandria. The club fitting was itself was fine. The customer service was abysmal. The instructor, Phil, did not properly transcribe the specs from my fitting towards my order of a new set of Callaway irons. Weeks later, the wrong irons arrived in the mail with no communication on status or tracking information. I looked back at the original spec sheet and realized the error. When I called, Phil insisted that the incorrect clubs would be better for me anyway and the specs of the shipped clubs reflect his hand-written notes rather than the specs on the official print-out. A set of irons is not cheap so I decided to send them back and wait for the correct ones. Fast forward three weeks (one week past the promised delivered date) and with one email and three phone calls into GolfTec, I finally heard from Phil that there was some kind of inexplicable delay. This is ONE MONTH after my fitting and initial order, and I had to track him down just to get a simple status check. I cancelled the order and immediately ordered the correct clubs directly from Callaway. In terms of customer service, GolfTec ranks amongst the worst experiences I've ever had. Go for the fitting if you choose, but ultimately make the purchase elsewhere to save yourself untold delays and zero communication. read more
