I think we got our money's worth, and this year my youngest will be spending LOTS of time there. I always feel safe dropping the boys there to play, together or with friends, unaccompanied by an adult. And let me tell you, I'm a paranoid mom. I know where every sexual predator in the county lives! Yeah, I'm one of those. I worry, and I like to be cautious and play it safe. And, they are safe here, so it's great. Inside they have a shop, with various items one might need to purchase in order to play...balls, tees, ball markers, visors etc. They also carry snacks and drinks, which is great in the heat of the summer...when they've emptied what they brought to drink and are bordering on dehydration! I just asked my boys what rating they would give the course, and the oldest said 4 stars but just because it is starting to get too small for him. To me, that's not a fair rating, because we know the Little Course is exactly that...little. So, it needs to be rated as such. My younger son, who is the one who really loves to golf, emphatically gave it 5 stars. So, there ya go...straight from the ones who use it!

Golf GPS finders weren't well organized and it was difficult to find the one I wanted, although it was on the display. There were no value for some of them, because even item on the sale in the store was more expensive than in the other retail store. Selection of gloves was a very good, but how they were organized in the shelves are not friendly at all. Bigger sizes are on the back and it's a very difficult to rich and pulling them out.

The manager was kind and did what he could to make it right. However, I still feel like I need to post a review to warn women about this location. During my session, my fitter would hand me a driver, tell me "go ahead and hit a few... I'll be back." Then would walk away. He did this for every driver. I was left by myself practically the entire session. At the end, he showed me the data, and said "it's really up to you what you want" and didn't recommend one driver over the other. When asked what flex I would need (L vs A vs R shaft) he just shrugs and says "just a ladies shaft." He made me feel like an inconvenience for even asking simple questions during a FITTING. Women are already so outnumbered and deal with so many stereotypes, and the last place i thought I would deal with the same behavior would be at a "professional" establishment. I went and had a TRUE fitting done at Gaylord, and SURPRISE SURPRISE- was fitted into a regular flex shaft.

So despite the long drive down Concord road to places I never visit, I pulled into the guard gate, told them my name and party, and was allowed to enter. SWAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNKKKKKKKYYYYYY neighborhood y'all. Like really SWANK. Like country stars and billionaires swanky. Need to learn to play golf on that golf course so I can catch me a sugar daddy, no? Anyway, the mansion was Pleasant Hill, an old house built in 1854 by Colonel Winstead. It has been restored with period decor and is quite interesting to check out. They have room to set up tables for groups of diners and apparently even have weddings/receptions here. There's a large outdoor patio area for the same type thing. There's even a separate bar area so that people arriving can gather in there to get drinks and not block up the space between the tables since it is a little crammed in there when fully set up. The staff is welcoming and seem to really love being there which adds a nice Southern charm to the whole thing. Food was your standard group dinner stuff - salad with some really good thick balsalmic vinaigrette, entree was steak on one side, chicken on the other, and roasted vegetables and potatoes in the middle. Steak was medium well and a little on the bland side, chicken was standard. Overall just really average but when cooking for a large group it wasn't bad. The dessert was a decadent chocolate cake with white icing but the chocolate syrup covering it was definitely Hershey's syrup. Not like that's a bad thing! Overall seems like a really nice place to have a unique group dinner, rehearsal dinner, etc. And apparently if you live over there and are a member (of what? not sure) you get a deal on this. So move over to the neighborhood and then invite me over to your swanky place!
