Leslie sold us on a waverly home and everything started out great until we signed the contract. Leslie is the daughter to the waverly homes owners and throughout this process they have been unprofessional, rude bullies. There were so many issues through this process but I will only lists a few here. They sell you on the fact that you can pick your floor plan and finishes and that they will make exceptions if they don't have what you want but once you ask for those other options it's an inconvenience for them and all the sudden an upgrade charge. We sold our old house and lived in our travel trailer as we were told it would only take 6 months to build and sometimes only 4 months. So we never anticipated being in our trailer for more than 9 months. When Covid hit, my husband lost his job as the company closed for good. We asked if there was any way we could back out of the deal and get our deposit back so we could figure out our next move and waverly homes said no. Even though they had only started the foundation at this point. Thankfully he got a new job and the house started moving along. Once things started going in, is where the real problem began. Wrong counter tops, wrong tile, wrong cabinets, chipped flooring (the list goes on) and the items that weren't wrong didn't look good. The quality of work that was going into our house is not at all what we saw during the walk through of their other homes before we decided to build. They obviously have a different person doing the work on our house. We emailed Leslie when we did walk through to let her know the items that needed to be fixed and she just responded with "we'll do a walk through at the end" we were letting her know ahead of time so it was easier for them to fix without having to tear everything out and replace it but instead she said we could no longer go into the house without an appointment, as if us pointing things out upset her. Our house was supposed to be done June 30th I expected it to go longer because of covid. They pushed the date back to August 31st. Then again to sept 15th, I guess they couldn't get people in to complete the work. Fast forward to the first week in sept and we were a couple days a way from being able to do the final walk through when things took a turn for the worst. Waverly could not give us a date to have an inspector come out. When our realtor questioned their professionalism Leslie got upset and told us we could be released from our contract. After 9 months of waiting and days before our final walk through they want to release us?! Not when my husband looses his job and not when they can't meet the close date but right when we are at the end and they realize they can sell the house for more than what we are in contract for. There was much more back and forth on this matter which ended in waverly saying fine you can keep the house but we are now extending the close date for the 3rd time, to oct 8th. How is it that we can be days away from a final walk through and then get pushed another month out?! Our lock expired and waverly would not pay for the lock extensions even though they didn't meet the deadline. We ended up not closing until October 14th because they could not find anyone to come hook up the gas stove, our driveway has huge gashes that there were not willing to fix but we didn't want to fight it and delay closing even more. Please be careful and know that you will likely not be getting what you pay for, I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. I recommend nobody builds with waverly homes because anyone who treats their clients like this does not deserve to be in business let alone customer service.
