The night that I purchased the items, the store was closing so I called the store as soon as I saw the rips to ensure that my long distance number would be on the store's call log when they opened the next day. I figured the number of items that I purchased, the amount of money that I had spent, the fact that I'd called as soon as I found out the dress was ripped, the fact that I was visiting from another state, and the fact that my daughter and I came back to purchase more items would have been enough to receive an exception to the return policy rule concerning detached tags. The manager, Pablo, was nasty, condescending, and kept a sh%t eating grin on his face when telling me that I could not receive an exchange. More importantly, I did not want a refund, but I wanted to exchange the rip dress for another dress. Although, I will never patronize this store again, I recommend that anyone purchasing items from this store to try on all items before purchase. Lastly, I would like to say that the cashiers that assist me the night that I purchased the items had great customer service etiquette. I typically don't pay attention to the employees when I'm there, but then I realized they were following me around like a hawk. What made it worse was that then I watched other people walking around with their baskets being able to freely shop. Maybe because I keep my headphones on and just look for what I'm looking for, but they felt a certain way. I don't go in corners of the stores or anything. I just go there to shop. Instead, they often just stare at customers and seem bothered when asked a question. It creates an unwelcoming atmosphere and makes shopping here unpleasant. I understand this is a Melrose, so I'm not expecting luxury-level customer service, but kindness and professionalism should be the bare minimum. She helped me find outfits for both my sister and I. My sister was not with me but had specific requests that princess couture was able to help me meet! Some of the pieces that I wanted to purchase were not the right size. The team was able to take my measurements and alter the outfits for my custom fit. All salwar suits came with sleeves which we had added on. All of these alterations were done within three hours and I was able to take them home with me to Austin that same day. I don't like the way they do business. A Vietnamese lady walked in wanting to try a colorful áo dài that was hanging up high. She first spoke English. Then, changed to Vietnamese. I didn't pay attention to what happened. But as I was leaving, she disappeared. I hope she got what she needed. I'm out of here.
