I feel it's important to share my experience in hopes of preventing others from going through something similar. After a serious fall that resulted in a torn MCL and meniscus, I was referred by the ER to an orthopedic surgeon. My insurance required a referral from my primary care provider, Dr. Gonino. Because this happened after hours on a Friday, I had to wait until Monday to contact the office. When I called, I spoke with Jessica, who told me she had "50 other faxes to go through" and would "get to it when she could." I explained that I was in severe pain, mostly bedridden, and that the orthopedic office had an opening the next day but she was dismissive, rude, and completely lacking in empathy. Two days later, I followed up again and was told the same thing. I asked to speak to the office manager, Anita, and left a voicemail that was never returned not that day, not that week, and not even three weeks later. I eventually sent a detailed email to Dr. Gonino's nurse explaining the situation, which included the fact that my insurance company had also been calling and leaving messages for three days. Within minutes of that email, Jessica suddenly called to say the referral was complete. By then, I had already missed my earliest orthopedic appointment and was forced to pay out-of-pocket to be seen sooner because of the delay. This entire experience was shocking and unacceptable, especially considering that I had followed Dr. Gonino's instruction from my first visit to not have any imaging (like MRIs or X-rays) without consulting him first. But when I actually needed urgent care, his office made it nearly impossible to get help. When I later tried to address the situation and provide feedback, I was told I'd need to make an appointment just to discuss how I was treated which felt ridiculous. For context, I suffer from a rare autoimmune disease and initially chose Dr. Gonino because his approach seemed holistic and compassionate. Unfortunately, my experience showed otherwise. The office seems far more focused on selling "extra" services and tests (many of which are not filed with insurance) than on providing timely, patient-centered care. I personally spent over $1,500 on tests that, in hindsight, had nothing to do with the issues I came in for. Ultimately, I had to involve my insurance company, which was so concerned by what happened that they initiated their own complaint against this office. This was a deeply disappointing experience from a doctor I initially trusted. I've know Gonino since I was 6yrs old. I have been so unsatisfied with the way his office does business! They are rude and say they have called in my hormone prescriptions and then don't. I have to pay out of pocket $210 because they are out of network. And to be treated the way they do is absolutely unacceptable!! Don't go there!!! read more

I was late due to a car accident and called to make them aware and I was still charged $75 fee they refused to remove I have been a paying client for 10+ years lots of iv treatments and Vitamins cash pay. I have sent handfuls of friends, family and colleagues over the years. Dr G loves and cares for his patients as family. His protocols and lifestyle he promotes WILL make a difference if you follow it. Those that say his treatments "didn't work" I don't believe followed his lifestyle and protocol the way he advises. He's not prescribing a magical medication to cure all your illness and disease, he's creating a healthier more stable foundation of a human body/immune system to be better able to combat. You can't regret making these lifestyle choices/changes. Your expectations need to be that of physical, mental, emotional, spiritual healing so you have the power within you to HEAL. It's an all or nothing kind of mindset - you're in our you're out. Excuses don't get us anywhere but in a negative stressful unhealed state of mind. If you're READY to change and let go of old patterns, mindsets and lifestyles, you need his guidance and that of the Holy Spirit within him! Went to Gonino Center of Healing for help w my gut and weight loss. At my initial appointment, I met w the doctor, walked through all my symptoms & was told just because my thyroid came back normal doesn't mean it was optimal. I finally had hope that someone would help change my life & finally believed me. I eat super healthy, workout, don't eat gluten or dairy & yet I always had issues with weight loss. Anyway, they said they'd draw blood, and re-evaluate thyroid medication in 4 months given my progress. So, I spend all this money on the appointment getting blood test, doctor fees and vitamins. Fast forward 6 months, nothings changed. My stomach felt a little better but, no weight loss. Anyway, you're supposed to meet after 4 month but, they were too busy to fit me in. I go back, and you don't meet with Dr. Gonino again you meet with another doctor, and it's the complete opposite. He tells me my levels are fine so, there's nothing they can do. Then he tells me I have an irregular heart beat & they charge me $70 to do an EKG that came back completely normal. On top of that they tell me my lymes test came back positive and I need more testing, so another $100 in labs (which came back negative again) just to be sent on my way with absolutely no direction or hope just more vitamins. Dr. Gonino was nice, I thought he could help, but without consistency from him to his partners, it's ineffective. I spent over $1400 just to be in the same place as when I started. Up to you but, I've not had any luck with this practice and wasted a whole lot of money on false hope established at my first appointment. Pretty disappointed. read more

Dr. Gonino himself is great but his staff is absolutely awful. And since he is the head of the office he is responsible to overview if his office manager is not returning call and not fulfilling her job. They over charge me for no reason, my wife scheduled a yearly visit for me I did not visit Dr G since 2019 because of Covid and I was hoping to get a yearly visit for this year. Instead of a routine checkup which will be fully covered by my insurance they did an extended visit and asked me to pay $127. I have been calling billing Departement and requested to speak to office manager left her multiples voicemail with no response and each time I talk to front desk I was told she will call you as soon as she is available. Never got a call back or email to explain why they decided to charge me extended visit instead of a routine checkup. read more

For years I complained to doctors that I had difficult losing weight, I was tired all the time, and so many other symptoms of thyroid issues only to be told I was "normal" which means that my tests were actually borderline into not normal, but as long as they were just under their imaginary number I was normal. First time I saw Dr. Gonino he put me on thyroid medication, a natural form and I have continually begun to feel better over the last year and a half. I love that he's not a big pill pusher and into Big Pharma. I generally see his PA Whitney who is absolutely excellent! They never push vaccines, or drugs on me and respect that I prefer more holistic approaches as they do also. They respect the fact that I have been in this body for 70 years and know it better than they do, but seek their guidance for healing. I also do a lot of my own research and listen to videos by Dr. Eric Berg on YouTube and learned an incredible amount about how my body works, or is failing to work. I have often spoken to Whitney about things I have heard and could I possibly be dealing with this or that, and she is more than happy to follow up with labs to confirm or rule out possible issues I am dealing with like fatty liver, or candida. Imagine my satisfaction and surprise to find a Dr. Berg video on Gonino Wellness website! Last doctor I saw made a snide remark when I brought up Dr. Berg, he said, "but I'm a real doctor" that was my last appointment with that arrogant fool. After that my insurance changed and Dr. Gonino was in my network so I am ecstatically happy to drive 20 miles to get the best care I have ever gotten. I trust Dr. Gonino and his office. His staff are so kind and patient. I've been to so many doctors and others have said the worst case scenarios and bring fear. Dr. Gonino brings hope and is real at the same time. I've never had a doctor ask me, "What have experts and doctors told you about xyz (this disease I have), and what does your personal gut tell you?" It meant so much for him to simply ask just to even listen how I'm feeling about it all. He is very thorough and doesn't tell you to do a treatment he wouldn't let his own daughter do. This office has done microscopic blood work and I found out I had candida and metals in my system, the office also sends your bloodwork to the lab to find out many things. My thyroid and hormones have been checked as well. The IV treatments and insufflation has been miraculous. After I received a CT scan with contrast from a hospital, I was able to detox all the junk I went through. As a woman in my 30s I feel so much hope. The place has been my haven for health for over 12 years. In that time I have lost 50 lbs, my A1C has declined into the normal range, my functionality age is substantially less than my actual age and I feel, look, and think so much better than I did before I started visiting. Realistically health is up to the person. The place WILL give you every tool that you need to be optimal if it is at all possible. They will educate you at the highest level and provide the foundation for success at getting healthier physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. I can confirm many of the other comments on yelp about this clinic. I scheduled an appointment with this office and when I went in and met with the doctor, it was clear that the office was going to work you for as much money as they can. I did not continue to use their services, as I have previously worked with a clinic that was arranged the exact same way. The costs and what they will have you do isn't clearly disclosed and they will have you go through all sorts of programs and therapies, and before you know it, you are thousands in the hole. I have learned my lesson NOT to work with clinics like this one. I would recommend staying away. read more

I made an appointment at Dr Gonino's office two weeks prior to my appointment. I called and spoke with a member of his staff and explained I had mercury filling removed from my mouth and my dentist suggested I get chelation done to remove the mercury from my body. The girl I spoke with said absolutely and made me an appointment to come in and get Chelation. I drive over an hour one way to get to my appointment at Dr Gonino's only to have his extremely RUDE staff tell me they won't do Chelation until I see the provider and have blood work. Which they can't do today because they didn't make me the correct appointment. So the incompetent staff failed to make me the correct appointment and follow whatever protocols they have. How am I to know what you require before Chelation. So I not only waisted my time and my gas. I also had to deal with the unapologetic rude staff!!! Not only was I a patient but so is my fiancé and he has spent thousands of dollars with Dr Gonino's office! Well, neither of us will ever go back!! BEWARE of your privacy here! Despite telling them repeatedly that they are sending private medical information to the WRONG email address, they repeatedly continue sending it. I don't live anywhere near this city, have never heard of this medical practice, and have never been treated by any affiliate of Dr. Gonino. When I tried to tell them they had the wrong email address, they responded that I would have to give them the name of the patient in order for them to change the email address. Yes we all have some type of fungus, but that does not mean that we have to spend 4 figures on programs and education. I don't know where do I start with the fact that these people prey on terminally ill cancer patients giving them a false sense of hope although the real doctors tell them that they have no hope and they have done everything to try to save them this place is only here for money they do not care about lives they want to keep you stagnant and get your money. They pumped my sister with so much fluid that it filled up in pain all throughout her body. I was so happy to find DR. Gonino and his clinic. There are not a lot of medical doctors that also do integrative holistic work and take Medicare. I had been sick for 3 years, no one could find out what was wrong. I moved to Texas and he became my Dr. right away he told me it was one of 2 things. It turned out he was right about one, I had breast cancer. They saved my life. I'd been told it was a benign cyst. I now see Dana his nurse practitioner for my after care and preventive care. Dr Gonino checks with her on me. All is going well. Dr Gonino is a caring, professional and it amazes me what a fantastic clinic he has. He helps people from all over the world. They are a busy office, I've had a rude staff member here and there but the majority are so wonderful, not your usual scene in such a busy clinic. After you see Dr. Gonino, you will be switched to one of his nurse practitioners. They want patients to do lots of expensive IVs and take supplements. Everyone is forced to take a "intro" class in order to be treated, where they introduce the chiropractor, hypnotist, massage therapist and yoga instructor. Useless. They are so busy that you can't get a followup appointment when the doctor/nurse practitioner wants you back. They made several mistakes with my medicine. They blame the patient or the nurse every time. They claim that love heals but it sure doesn't feel that way. read more

I have been going to this facility for all my medical needs since I was in middle school (and they were in Rowlett). I haven't been overly thrilled with them for the last few years. It started when they continually billed my lab work through a provider that wasn't covered by my insurance. Today was really the icing on the cake to find another facility. Sunday I stabbed my hand with a rusty nail. I called at 8:30 Monday to see when my last tetanus shot was...they didn't have it in their online records and would need to pull my file from storage and let me know. I stress the need for an urgent response since I need to know if I need to go get a booster within 48 hours of Sunday. Hours later, at 4:15 (15 mins before they stop answering calls for the day), I call back to see what's going on because I haven't heard from anyone. They still haven't sent anyone. When I press, they say it takes 3-5 days. I press more and they can "maybe" see if medical records will go tomorrow. Tomorrow is the last day of my 48 window to get the booster. So I get put on a looonnngg hold and the receptionist gets back on and says, you should go get the booster. Well OBVIOUSLY I can get the booster, I am trying to avoid spending the time and money going to get one last minute by checking MY OWN MEDICAL RECORDS. These people are ridiculous. I will NEVER come back here again and I will NEVER recommend their clinic to anyone (over the last 10+ years I have sent people here, I will tell them to STOP coming here!). You cannot treat patients like this when you are the only one who has their medical history records. Disgusting! read more

Terrible experience. Definitely believe I was misdiagnosed by Dr. Gonino. He didn't ask any questions pertaining to my symptoms. He did the most talking during my appointment, all of which was contradictory nonsense. He did not take the time to listen to my symptoms or medical history. He did not answer any of my comments or questions in regard to my condition. He uses quizzes (questionnaires) to diagnose his patients. Then he cowardly passes them off to a new patient coordinator and nurse practitioners. The new patient advocate was very rude and had a demeaning attitude. The office environment is very chaotic. They are always selling something, overpriced supplements, IV packages, and their biggest seller, a half-day "wellness" class where you supposedly learn about nutrition and breathing for $100. Stuff you can learn for free online. The Gonino Center for Healing preys on the weak and the sick, taking their valuable time and money. Dr Gonino himself and his nurse practitioners are great. They seem to genuinely care about their patients and I love that they care about natural ways to cure sicknesses and don't just give you a pill for everything. What kills the experience is their office staff. The incompetence of the people at this office is mind blowing. No one talks to each other and apparently nothing is written down. Here is one recent example: I went to see the nurse practitioner and found that I have a double ear infection. I chose to not get a prescription at that time because it wasn't bothering me and was told that I could call and get antibiotics if that changed. A couple of days later I call to request this first thing in the morning. No calls back until the next morning. I was told that they were calling it in right then. Of course, nothing gets called in. I call back and no one has a clue what I am talking about. They can't find anything about me needing a prescription or it being approved. So who called me? Multiple calls about it and nothing has been done. This is just one of the many ways the people at this office drop the ball. So if you are willing to deal with their incompetence then you will love this Doctor. read more
