I called Dr. Gatto's office hoping I might be able to get a last minute appointment (I had also never been there before) and heard good things from my boss about his office. They decided to stay open later than their times to be able to accommodate me. They were warm and friendly and Dr. Gatto was compassionate and understanding with all of my complaints. Chiropractors kinda scare me, what with all those pops and snaps, but he was calm and helped distract me with lots of conversation while he sorted out my neck, AND back, AND hips. I didn't realize there was so much wrong with me until he started realigning. I walked out feeling 150% better than I did walking in. I'll still need a follow up appointment but he was also VERY accommodating towards my work schedule and offered to see me early before his office hours so I wouldn't miss any time from work. She told me to wait for her at the back door so she could give me paperwork to fill out. Good thing I sat down because 13 minutes later she was still doing other things like talking on the phone getting a payment instead of getting me checked in. Finally, i get ushered back into an exam room and the nurse puts a sliver of protective paper over where I am supposed to put my face on the most hideous chair I have ever seen. It must be from the 60's and the leather is almost completely worn off and full of super old foam. Eww. There is no way I was gonna lay down on that thing, and I had to wonder if they don't care about the chair, do they care about the patient in it? I didn't want to find out. Update: Thank you for the response but I am looking for a healthcare provider that provides a comfortable, safe facility conducive to my healing and that includes aesthetically pleasing rooms and enough office staff to make it a welcoming first encounter. Dr. Lupo and his staff are all really excellent friendly people who walked me through everything and got me back on the road to recovery fast. I have never been put off or made to wait long. Adjustments are made in private rooms and there is a group rehab area with machines etc. Perhaps some people may not like the group area. However it's always been a really good experience, the other patients and Dr. Lupo really get you going, and by the end you're laughing and having a good time. I've been to other chiropractors and it's not always been a pleasant experience. I've been to some that were pushy or made you believe you need to come back every week for the rest of your lives. I am lucky and have good insurance doctors love to exploit but my co-pay isn't free and at $20/wk I could get cable tv. I mean, geez. Since my initial visit I have been in a car accident and will probably need the occasional adjustment for life. Dr. Lupo must have a good steady practice because he's only every encouraged me to do what I need and doesn't come at me like a used car salesman. I'm giving it 2 stars only because I haven't actually gotten chiropractic care from them, and I'm not one to blast a business without the full experience. For all I know, they have the magic touch and are miracle healers. However, first impressions mean a lot, and the pretentious attitude from the staff I spoke with suggests that they're interested in easy money over helping people in pain. My guess is they probably have a baseline of patients and don't feel like dealing with the new intake process very much.
