MUST READ!!! This review in LONG overdue, though I wanted to ensure I had given adequate time to give a truly honest one. I have a history of 2 major car accidents, one being a roll over more than 10 years ago. At the time I was young and estimated myself to be resilient. I was leery of chiropractic and did not want to take any medicine other than otc medication as needed. Over the years, I became stiffer, less flexible and had an increase in neck pain, body aches and debilitating migraines. Fast forward to a twin pregnancy with 3 months of hospital bed rest and muscle wasting/deconditioning, and my symptoms exponentially grew! The neck pain became so severe that I tossed and turned regularly to find a semi-comfortable position and I had severe migraines every other day on average. During the last 15 years since the first accident, I became a nurse practitioner. With that, came the knowledge of every muscle relaxer, anti-inflammatory, migraine treatment/prevention medication, knowledge of the best physical therapists and neurosurgeons, spine and upper back muscle injections, even Botox for migraine! You name it, I tried it! Desiring to treat the cause and have a more holistic approach, I also had tried diet, exercise and met with a handful of chiropractors, giving each one a few months. I had very little change with any, including a very prestigious place in Eagle that cost a large sum of money for their program. Fast forward to meeting Dr. Todd at the family practice where I am employed and hearing everything his clinic and the Gonstead method had to offer... The program made sense to me as the spine needs to be restored to movement and position it had prior to injury or simply bad habits. I decided to give it a try and less than a month into it I had noticeable results. My neck pain and tightness in the recumbent position went away almost entirely. My migraines began to space from every day or other day to every week or two weeks. The gap became larger and larger. This was the biggest difference and a life changer, LIFE CHANGER for me AND my family. I've been to quite a few chiropractors before. I've found that they all seemed to do the same basic adjustment no matter what my complaint was. They rarely did a thorough initial exam or x-rays. I only had one ever suggest massage therapy as an option for better results. Chiropractic care always seemed to temporarily help a pain or ache, but it would eventually come back. After NINE YEARS of pain & desperation, with nothing but disappointment from various MDs & chiropractors I finally came across Gonstead Spine & Wellness. Doctor Todd FIXED my problem in ONE VISIT. I jacked up my sacrum during a rough pregnancy nine years ago. The pain was so intense it took my breath away if I was even slightly bumped for about 18 months. None of the doctors I saw cared (if they believed me at all). The pain eased enough that I could at least function again, but it still interfered with daily living. I had spent the previous five years seeing doctor after doctor to try to get relief from my lower back pain. I was told nothing was wrong by some, that I had two crushed disks by one and that it would take surgery to put rods in my back by another. I have diabetes and he would not do the surgery so he sent me to a pain specialist. He gave me injections which helped for a while but it did not last long. As a training and competing Olympic athlete, I have been on the road a lot and was so thankful to get back to Dr. Pickman for some much needed realignment. My right knee was tracking weird causing a steady stream of discomfort on my right side, referring to the midfoot. Ive been worried about it because this kind of lingering issue, at my level of training, always leads to stress fractures and injuries. He did some adjustments in my back, foot was in desperate need of chiro TLC and then added some Functional Movement assessments. Taping the Tibia (shin bone) to rotate out after the adjustment gave it the support to stay in place. I have never been taped like that before and am FLOORED it stayed, mid foot discomfort is GONE and knee feels awesome! Gonstead Chiro's are amazing!!!
