I have never been more disgusted with a doctor in my entire LIFE!!!!! My mother in law has been a patient there for nearly 10 years. She has early onset dementia, she has zero short term memory and she is confused constantly- (she put funions in the cat food bowl) she refuse to diagnose her. That isn't what this review is about. She has been on thyroid medication for her entire life and the office called in a prescription and cancelled it (maybe she needs an appt?) but we have called multiple times with ZERO response, no call to schedule after they canceled- for TWO weeks !!!!!!!! What kind of Dr cancels a medication for THYROID and doesn't care to remedy it!!?????? Her daughter has been on the same medication her life as well thank GOD so she has not had to go without- but I am literally shaking as I write this because this lady (MIL) is an angel on earth. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! We have subsequently schedule an appointment with a new doctor because this office obviously does not care for their patients or the outcome of their well-being to any degree whatsoever... Not even to return a phone call!!!! I have truly and sincerely never been more disgusted with a medical practice in my entire life and we will absolutely be filing a complaint with the board!!!!!!!! I have absolutely no idea how she has any positive reviews whatsoever, but please make sure to check all of the other ones star reviews because they're pretty consistent that they do not care about their patients whatsoever. Literally the worst doctor I've ever encountered in my life. She was rude, cold, not compassionate and condescending. 2 years ago we went here. My poor 80 year old mother who's suffering from dementia onset was ridiculed when I took her to this doctor. And the reason we came here is because she was dizzy from not taking her thyroid medication because she ran out and the doctor was asking her a million questions about what date it is who is the president etc. etc. very rudely when my mother obviously was not feeling well. Not to mention, now a month ago she literally cut off her thyroid medication without warning - did not call me or my mom to let us know that we needed to go to the lab in order to get a new prescription and she was left without thyroid medication. They did not answer my calls. I called three times in one week trying to contact them to figure out why they denied a refill without any warning and not even a grace period of a pills until we could get to the lab. I do not recommend this doctor or this office at all. Not to mention they don't have email they use fax machines still. And if they don't answer their phone. how else are you supposed to contact them? Terrible. read more

My experience with Dr. Gonzales has been that she is an exceptional doctor. She's been my physician for four years now, and now she is my husband's doctor as well. She listens, always gives a thorough explanation and has really good referrals when we need them. She also understands the medicine she prescribes. I've had Dr. Gonzales as my primary care doctor for almost 20 years now. She's the best doctor I've ever had. When I was working at Stanford I did switch my care to their primary care department because it was convenient for me to see someone who was based right next to my office. I started having some issues and I was seen by Stanford primary care multiple times and I ended up in the Stanford ER 4 times. Nothing the Stanford doctors were having me do was working. I was having horrible irregular bleeding, was anemic, & I actually was losing so much blood that I would pass out. Hence the multiple trips to the ER. Plus every time I went to the ER I had a $250 copay so this was not only scary health wise but it also wasn't good for my bank account. I went to see Dr. Gonzales ONE TIME and within ten minutes she diagnosed me and corrected the medication I was talking. I was better within 24 hours. I don't think I can even explain how many doctors from Stanford had seen me. I was seen at their OBGYN clinic a bunch of time and they had me see the medical director of OBGYN at least 3 times, I had multiple transvaginal ultrasounds, saw multiple doctors in their primary care clinic, teams of doctors in the ER, and none of them figured it out. After all of that I learned a major lesson about cheating on Dr. Gonzales - don't do it!. Since that experience I've never seen another primary care doctor. You just can't mess with the best and she's the absolute best! Hands down. No doubt about it. She knows her stuff, she has excellent bedside manner, and I literally can't think of anything negative to say about her or her office. Her entire staff is also fantastic but I've been dealing with Trixy for many many years now and I have to say that she has always been amazing. I am a big fan of Dr. Gonzales. She is one of a disappearing breed of doctor who is independent (although part of the Sequoia hospital system). What makes her so good is that she takes the time to get to know her patients, never rushes appointments, is accommodating for last minute appointments (obviously this isn't always possible), is punctual, and takes a proactive interest in her patients' health. She also had great office staff who are great at juggling appointments, calling with test results and making the office function smoothly. Her office is clean and functional. I did not have a GP for many years. My GI doc kept pushing me to get one. I was referred to Dr. Charlotte Gonzales and am very pleased. She thoroughly reviews my blood work with me and drills down on some issues to address. I love the office staff. They always have a pleasant greeting and kick me out when I done. I have fought some medical care over the years but have learned from Dr. G that she gives advice and it is up to me to decide how to use it. Based on the reviews I'm sure that Dr. Gonzales is a wonderful physician. She was also highly recommended by my neighbor. My complaint is w/the woman on her office staff who answered my call. Not sure where she learned her customer service skills, maybe from the University of Abrupt, w/a major in brusque & a minor in terse.If the Dr. Is concerned about what kind of impact her office staff has on her patients I hope she reads this review. Originally, I was told that the Dr. had availability on Friday. Then I called back & the gal asked why I was seeking a new internist. I asked her if the Dr. accepted Medicare along w/my supplemental insurance then she immediately said that their schedule was full. She asked if I was planning on becoming an established patient she never gave me the chance 2 clarify. She was extremely rude & disrespectful & mentioned that they weren't there 4 my convenience & never listened to my explanation. She immediately hung up on me. I am looking 4 a new internist because my current physician is leaving her practice . After seeing her for the past 2 years, I'm getting a new primary and that basically summarizes my entire review, but if you want the detail, read on. She was recommended by a coworker to be caring and taking the time to know you, just like what others said about her. My experience, however, is different. My appointments are usually less than 10 minutes. She does not appear to be warm and interested to know about my life AT ALL during any of my visits. I felt rushed every time I go see her. She also wants you to see her for EVERY LITTLE THING. She will also not call when you just want her opinion on some thing minor. Maybe that's like most of the other doctors, but I've definitely experienced better and had much more dedicated and caring doctor. As to the facility, it's inside a very small plaza. Parking is sometimes difficult. The office is very very old. The examination table is uneven and broken, so is the footstep that gets me up there. I brought it to the medical assistant's attention and she just nods her head. Glad I didn't fall off the bed or got hurt, but I won't be surprised if someone does. Office administration is friendly, although they did forget to send lab slips after telling me that they would. There also had misunderstandings of my insurance, so I had to spend time calling the insurance company while I KNOW that this is something a competent medical office manager can figure out. The answering service is a joke, but that's like every other office. I don't really understand why doctors use them. All they do is ask you to wait, hang up the phone on you pretending that there a bad connection, and if you talk fast enough before they ask you to hold or hangs up the phone, ask you to call back when the office opens. read more

She had big medical shoes to fill; in our family, we referred to our previous primary as "the saint." We feel very fortunate to have found Dr. G. Dr. Gonzales is an insult to her profession. An elderly family member has been seeing her for the past few years. She comes across as uncaring, unsympathetic and sarcastic. Office visits are short and rushed. The first time our family member fell and fractured her back it was a very long recovery. After a hospital stay and then a stay at a skilled nursing facility she was able to return to her Assisted Living Apartment. Dr. Gonzales prescribed meds for Alzheimers and suggested she move to the Memory Care Unit. We did not agree and let her return to semi independent living and forgo the meds and she did fine. After a second fall a few years later we took her in to see Dr. Gonzales once again. After a very short examination which did not even include checking her weight, she told us "she most likely has Cancer. Take her home and make her comfortable." We opted for a Second Opinion and this Doctor cannot confirm that prognosis. She is now undergoing PT and OT and is doing fine. Don't believe any of the good reviews you see here. They are totally bogus!!!!!! read more

i have just met Dr. Gonzalas and the first time I had to wait 45 minutes and then when she cam in to the room, not much welcoming. Last week I came back to her fro the results of some tests. She explained them to me very quickly. And I really had a big issue to talk to her about. I had had my own information about cortisol testing. She obviously did not know anyhing about it and . It was a total waste of my time. She could have recommended a doctor who deals with this, but she showed no interest. I then told her she had really bad bedside manners and was very cold. I actually think this doctor should go back to medical school. The ladies in the office are very nice. She is very lucky. Some of her reviews are OK and other things,people went through a similar issue like I did. i wish I could report her. Honestly, I am not mean and do not write reviews like this. She even won my father over, who had only seen male doctors until her. She was with us throughout his diagnosis and cried with us when he lost his battle with cancer. Dr. Charlotte Gonzales has been the treating physician for my elderly friend since 2005 (11 years) whom I'm the Power of Attorney for. She has always been attentive and exact about her care. She has made excellent referrals when a specialist is needed. She's careful about medicating and will work with us if cost is a factor. I have always had excellent service from her assistant, office staff, and answering service. She is very considerate and extremely knowledgeable when working with seniors and very effective when working with elderly and aging. She is a rare doctor that also makes visits to assisted living & nursing facilities that can become necessary when the patient's mobility is compromised.
