We used Good Earth for my daughter's wedding. They were very respectful of our budget and good about reviewing changes and how that would affect our plans. We loved the table lamps and candles, gave the evening a dinner party feel, which is what was wanted. My biggest complaint is my daughter had very specific requests of colors and flowers. The designer didn't listen, even after having a final consultation a month before the wedding and inspiration pictures. The flowers for our event were beautiful, but not what was requested. We even requested a certain flower not be used and it was. I get the impression they will cater more toward the bigger budgets and have set formulas of what they do. They were very prompt and had an excellent crew to set up and tear down. Our designer didn't entirely listen and although we were happy with the outcome, we weren't felt heard. If I had to do it again though, I would probably look somewhere else as I didn't feel that important to them. read more

We used Good Earth Floral for all of our floral needs in our October 2024 wedding. The bridal party bouquets were absolutely gorgeous and received lots of compliments from wedding guests. We ended up only doing a few of our tables with florals as centerpieces and they merged seamlessly with our other centerpieces. Most excitingly we had them create pet collars for our German Shepherd and our cat which were a big hit and they looked fantastic! I was drawn to this studio based on them being "Green", since I am from SF. Contacted them about their availibility. I was told they had another wedding that day, but they could help me that day as well. I flew out, and met them, about 1 hour or consultation face to face.( I dont get why these florists insist having consultations, because couldn't I just show them pictures via email? ) They said they would get back with me on estimate via email, within one week. 2 weeks later, they emailed me my estimate, which I would say is very reasonable. I replied by email how to make a deposit, and then never heard back from her. DESPITE many emails to check in on them.. because I didn't want to shop around for another florist until I knew what was going on. Regardless of the reason--- either they could not provide the services because they were overbooked, or whateer.. they should have REPLIED back. Especially, I had wasted my precious time, especially from Long Distance, making my time to see them for a consultation. Extremely Unprofessional. I dont care how talented and amazing their floral talents are--- there is plenty of other florists who talents could match theirs, and are FAR more professional. I hired Good Earth Florals to design my wedding centerpieces and bouquets/corsages/alter arrangements. I want to give this florist a 5 star or at least a 4 star because I absolutely love Ashley and working with her, but I just can't. My review really gives a 3.5 star rating for one main reason: I requested that pieces of my mother's wedding dress be used for the wrapping of my bouquet. Unfortunately, when I recieved my flowers on the day of, there was not one single scrap of the dress incorporated into the bouquet. This had been talked about and stressed in meetings prior on several occasions and there should have been at least some way to pin even a little piece of the lace on the wrapping but there was nothing. This was my major disappointment. But let me back up and address other parts of my experience with this florist: The Designer: 5 stars A WONDERFUL girl! Ashley is so bubbly and energetic and she has great ideas and does an excellent job of talking through what types of flowers you love and which ones you do not. After our initial meeting, I felt like she truly understood the type of flowers I wanted to be part of my wedding day. We worked a lot through Pinterest ideas and she was good at communicating the initial proposal in a timely manner. Cost: 4 stars She was an affordable option who didn't make me feel like we were limited by my budget. She didn't try to upsell me or make me feel like we couldn't achieve my vision with my budget, unlike many florists we met with. She was quick to make suggestions and to try to make everything work. Communication: 3.5 stars This one was iffy. At the beginning and right up until the 2 weeks prior to my wedding, communication was not as frequent or responsive as I would have liked. I had to contact her multiple times before getting repsonses on a few occasions. However, when we were within the 2 week mark, she was INCREDIBLE. We corresponded several times a day on occasion and she was definitely focused on our wedding. While it was frustrating in the beginning, she was totally accessible when it counted. Execution: 3.5 stars This one the main area that kept me from giving a full 4 or 5 star rating. As mentioned, the use of my mother's dress pieces was very important to me and I was very disappointed not to have it included in my big day, especially since these pieces were taken especially for that use. Additionally, the centerpieces we had talked about originally for the tops of my candelabras had a little more height and used twigs to add some drama but the actual arrangements were lacking this aspect. Now, I know I led with the negative, but let me tell you, my bouquets themselves were AMAZING. Incredible. My bouquet turned out better than I could have ever thought and was exactly what I wanted. My bridesmaids had the most awesome, creative, and unique bouquets I have ever seen. Ashley has some major talent when it comes to creation and these were just stunning. Additionally, she really executed my color palette exactly like I wanted. Seriously, the only reason I can't give a full "Yay, I'm a fan!" review boils down to the use of my mother's dress. The communication issues I can totally forgive since she was there when it really mattered and I know she had other brides to deal with and the centerpieces were probably more a miscommunication on my part about what I was expecting and are no real fault of the florists. But (as I am sure you can tell by now) having something missing from my day that was important to me is what takes this rating down. Would I recommend Ashley and Good Earth to another bride? ABSOLUTELY! She is afforable and does great work; I would just recommend being very clear about what is most important to you and what you expect your arrangments to look like. read more

I hired Ashley with Good Earth to do all the flowers for my ceremony site which included bench decorations and the alter. We only met with her once with just one picture of the alter. It is obvious from the moment you sit down with her how experienced she is. She completely grasped the look I was going for, offered a couple ideas and that was that! She had no issue with our venue's restrictions which did not allow decorations/flowers to be attached by anything besides being tied on. When I got to the ceremony site on my wedding day, I was blown away with her work! It was very natural and whimsical. She had followed the restrictions for the venue perfectly. Ashley was so great with our flowers. I showed her a few pictures of things I had seen in magazines that I liked and she ran with it. I also told her the flowers I liked and she delivered! The good earth part attracted me as well since I'm a little bit of a hippie! :D You can give Ashley as much or as little direction as necessary (I gave very little besides flowers and colors) and she'll give you something better than what you had pictured! With all my wedding planning, I can't even remember how I came across Ashley and Good Earth Floral Design, but I am happy I found her. We met at her Westport office. Make sure you know the address if you are going to meet her here because I was not very observant and walked right pasted the door initially. Her office is decorated in a modern chic way that gives a very good first impression. My bottom line was budget and she made it work. My only requests were that my colors were used. She certainly delivered big beautiful bouquets of coral and white flowers with touches of green. The boutonnieres were simple coral roses which suited the groom's taste. For the centerpieces, she used a collection of milk glass vases, candles, and gold vases. Each table looked FANTASTIC! She also provided some peonies to decorate the cake. Overall, I thought it was a great value. She didn't charge me extra for the vases she provided. She was prompt with set up and had a working history with my venue (the Hobbs Building) so she also came back a few days later to pick up the vases and leftover flowers. I was really shocked at how big my bridal bouquet was and how her beautiful arrangement added to the atmosphere. I was not a fussy bride with lots of phone calls or emails so communication with her was just right for me. Ashley with Good Earth Floral did a beautiful job with our wedding. When I originally met with her, I had a few Pinterest photos to match our Fall color scheme, but not a great idea of exactly what details I was looking for. Ashley was extremely talented in taking my vague ideas and running with them to create absolutely stunning bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids. She also created a beautiful floral display to drape over our outdoor arbor, along with a mixture of Fall floral and rustic lantern displays to line the aisle. Between the wedding and the reception, Ashley was quick to move all of the ceremony decor into our party barn, allowing us to re-purpose all of that decor to create our perfect rustic reception hall! To be honest, as the bride you hardly notice the decor as you're walking down the aisle. All I truly remember seeing was the man waiting for me underneath that arbor. However, I got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful everything was, and the pictures that I've seen have proved that! My bouquet definitely exceeded all my expectations! Ashley Did a wonder job! The flowers were just perfect and exactly what I pictured in my head. My very favorite part was that I didnt have to learn the name of different flowers and she didnt make me go into specifics when it came to telling her what I wanted. I showed her a picture. Ashley Hotka was wonderful! She completely understood my vision and did exactly what I had envisioned. I overheard people saying that the centerpieces and flowers were "so Cheryl". Ashley talked with me, looked at my stuff I planned to use and came up with a beautiful assortment that matched my wildflower garden with peacock colors and flowers perfectly. The way she decorated the gazebo we were married under was beautiful. She added so many little details. I asked for an assortment of different centerpieces that still all flowed together and she did it perfectly. Some tables had tall vases with curly willow branches and hanging candles, some had birdcages with flowers and candles; some had candlesticks with teacups and saucers with flowers. We decided on Good Earth Floral based upon positive reviews on this site and on The Knot. Ashley and her staff were amazing to work with==such nice and helpful people! We knew from our first meeting with Ashley that we made the right choice. She listened to our vision and was very respectful of budget. She was always open to suggestions and offered ideas when needed. We appreciated that we were able to use her beautiful votive holders, candle stands, lanterns, etc. so we didn't have to purchase these things. The day of the wedding we were stunned at the beauty of Ashley and her staff's work! Everything was just as we had pictured and beyond! They put everything in place and made sure we were happy.
