Road tripping across country and we needed early morning lattes to fuel the westbound leg to Reno. Good Grounds filled the need. Well crafted coffee, friendly service, and pretty quick considering we ordered two lattes each. That's a lot of steaming. Prices were reasonable too. It was pretty quiet at 6 am but there was a table of silver-haired gentlemen sipping coffee and chatting, and there was local art on the walls. It seemed like this was a good place for the community. The food menu and baked goods looked good as well, though we didn't partake. This spot far exceeded my expectations for a tiny little town in rural Kansas. Five stars for that. In a bigger city with more coffee options this review might not be a full 5 stars, but Good Grounds is a standout in its region. read more

We stopped by to grab some breakfast on our roadtrip across the Midwest. The inside is super clean, employees are friendly, and there was a line of customers both inside and in the drive thru! While our order was taken correctly and the line moved quickly, it took a bit longer than we hoped to actually get our order. We got ours to-go, and enjoyed in the car. The sandwiches were hot and delicious! The drinks were equally amazing! I would rate the food and coffee 5 stars, but had to take one away for the amount of time we waited! read more

This place was amazing! We stopped over in Goodland for the night in our way back home & this is right next to the motel we stayed at. The cashier & owner were very nice & helpful. They serve breakfast/brunch. I had the BLT w/ chips & jalapeño mac & my cousin had the biscuits w/ gravy. We also had their coffee. All of it was delicious! The jalapeño mac was amazing!!! The blt was also cooked to perfection & the white choc mocha was one of the best I've ever had. Definitely nice to have a place that serves amazing food in the middle of a pit stop like Goodland. read more

Lovely place. Breakfast burrito was good and espresso as well. But I also got cold brew - and they put more ice in a cup than a cold brew. And it wasn't cold brew, it was hot brewed coffee with ice in it and it tasted like burned donkey piss, so I dumped it outside to support their lovely greenery. Dear rural America, just because 90% of your customers in a drive through and will never to close a back, doesn't mean you can hit this rock bottom service. We stopped for a brief overnight on a cross country road trip. Happily surprised at the quality!! Service and facility are excellent too. I don't do 5 star reviews if there's significant room for improvement, but there really isn't. Thinking about it, redecorating with cozy furniture, and making it a more leisurely hang out kind of place would be great, as that's my personal favorite type of coffeehouse, but this isn't that type of place, and it's very well set up for the kind of place it is. I drink tea, not coffee, had the chai latte, and it wasn't the usual overly sweet powdered afterthought. It was lighter, more thoughtfully spiced, and I think maybe had a touch of rosewater. In any case, it was excellent. Biscuits for breakfast sandwiches are flaky, crumbly and do fall apart more than a bit when you try to pick them up and eat them. This isn't a complaint, this is as it should be. If they didn't, they wouldn't be as good a biscuit! So GG folks, when you do your next location, a loungy place with old overstuffed furniture would be great, but as to this location, about perfect. read more

I had the sticky bun for breakfast. I recommend it if you like sticky buns without pecans, but I wouldn't order it again because I want pecans on my sticky buns. Well, we were so excited to eat here in our way to Colorado. My husband was reading all the delightful menu items to me. It sounded amazing. We pull up on Saturday at 12:15 and head to the counter to read the menu board to make our final decisions. Then we learned that they don't serve food on the weekends. I'm sorry, what? The weekend, when no one is working and everyone is out and about wanting to eat and you just don't serve food? Unbelievable. Must hate money. That's all I can think. read more

Great non-chain place to stop if you need a driving break and coffee when you're cruising I-70 in western Kansas. Found from Yelp reviews, it was a few minutes wait to get our coffee, but we don't mind. We'd rather spend our money and time with a Mom and Pop shop. The streusel coffee cake was dynamite.
