Wow the drip coffee is really really good here. It's Boyer's from Denver, CO. Smooth and not too bitter. I wish they would sell the grounds/beans because I definitely would have bought them. My husband and I each had a breakfast croissant sandwich which was warmed up and delicious. There's sufficient seating inside and enough for a large group. Service was friendly and they do have drive-thru. They do sell out of donuts pretty fast it seems or at least they did that Saturday morning. The sign outside will say Daylight Donuts so don't be confused. It is Sunshine Bakery as said on a smaller sign on the window. This place is worth the drive from Colby!

Must have the sausage roll!! Most amazing breakfast we had on the road this summer. We originally went in for their biscuits and gravy or breakfast burrito but they were out (our fault for coming in at almost close) but he offered us the sausage roll and it was not a disappointment. Note: since weren't from the area we were a little confused about the door to enter, the GPS said we were there but there wasn't a clear sign of "sunshine bakery" the sign says "daylight donuts" that is the right place if you see it!

An excellent find on our trip from CO to KS. Awesome and tasty variety of pastries and donuts... we sampled several! We also had the breakfast burrito and egg sandwich but the pastries were the clear winners in our group. The owner and staff were so helpful and kind... we'll be back! Oh and they have a great amount of coffee and espresso options. Stop here, you won't be disappointed!!!

Stopped here on our cross country move. Cutest little corner bakery! The breakfast burrito, get it, don't share!! I regret sharing it . Donuts are delicious! Black coffee has a yummy toasty flavor. Protein balls are delicious and an option I appreciate!!

My grandma and I! She's eating a donut and I'm having my coffee!

Great old fashion flavor. Terrific donuts and warm, friendly customer service. The old Golden Plains restaurant would be proud.

We stopped here at 5.30am on a Monday morning driving back home from Wyoming…read more While it took a minute to get the waitress' attention, everything else was great: we got a fresh pot of coffee, and our order was correct and didn't take terribly long to come out. My friend's hashbrowns were feasibly well browned, and while they don't have a Denver omelet she was able to do the BYO option though $16 seemed kind of pricey. My eggs Benedict were good too. The English muffin was well toasted, and the hollandaise wasn't overwhelming the dish. The side of fruit was mostly honeydew and pineapple with some strawberry and grapes, but thankfully not mostly pineapple. It was very quiet and felt cozy.

Parking was easy since I went on Friday night, there were a few trucks and cars, but nothing too busy with plenty space. I stopped here before heading toward Salina, Kansas, and ended up eating dinner. As soon as I entered IHOP I saw that it was very clean and there were TVs playing sports and advertisements. They also had donation boxes at the entrance with kids stuff for Christmas. I felt the vibe was comfortable and pretty decent to have a quick dinner meal. My husband ordered the big steak omelette with pancakes, and I went with the chicken tenders and steamed green beans. The pancakes and the meat-filled omelette were actually really tasty, moist, flavorful, and they had a good amount of meat and cheese in them. But the tenders were a big letdown. For $14+ you get five tiny pieces, and they were tiny, very salty and definitely the frozen kind, not fresh at all (if IHOP says they're freshly made then they're fooling you). The portion size was disappointing, and when I mentioned it to the server, she brushed it off and said she couldn't do anything, which didn't help. I really thought as a part of customer service she might end up getting at least one bigger one so that I will have better experience with their food but she didn't care. Honestly, the frozen tenders you buy at the supermarket taste better and are way bigger than what they served. If I were you, I would stick to the omelettes next time. They have definitely reduced in size too, but for $16+ they still fill you up and satisfy your taste buds. I would stay away from the other fried dinner items like the fried fish or chicken fried steak. Service overall was okay not rude. I wish our server could have smiled a little more while taking our order or seating us but the food came out pretty fast. Overall, I'd give this place a 3/5 just because the omelette and pancakes met our expectation.

Colby, Kansas, March 2026…read more The small restaurant has 10 tables. It It sits on the corner of an antique strip mall. Pretty basic inside the restaurant. The salad bar is located right next to the one and only bathroom. The menu has many sandwiches to choose from. It has fewer entree selections. The waitress was new the night we went. She was nice and extremely helpful. She was an older lady, and I only say that for clarification of the other waitress who had long black hair with ponytail. Tried to get her attention a few times, and even though the restaurant is extremely small, she passed by as if though she did not see us. We ordered the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken. Both came with an ice cream size scoop of mashed potatoes and corn. The potatoes and chicken were covered in a white gravy. The chicken was hot and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorless as was the gravy. The meals are also accompanied with a roll. Butter is in individual packets on the table. The chicken fried steak was thick and had little breading. It would have been better if it was a thinner pounded steak with more breading as that was more traditional to my liking. When they bring your check, it comes with a warm chocolate chip cookie. Cute idea! The ambience was odd and not welcoming. The location was rather depressing. The food was OK. I would give this place overall 3.5 stars.

The salad bar was wonderful with fresh and a very great selection of Midwestern style items. The main courses were very good and generous. Prices were reasonable considering the alternatives and current price levels. This place defines the genre of enduring family run country restaurants. Nothing here is new, more like right out of 1958 and well worn. That is everything but the warm friendly service and a wide offering of totally familiar comforting food. I love these relics of an Americana that is rapidly disappearing into the cold predictability of franchise chains utterly without character. Prices are right and portions are generous. You know that you have struck rural restaurant gold when the specials on the chalk board are liver and onions, green beans and hominy, and beef and noodles. Your impression is confirmed by the home made pie list which is so large it requires its own chalk board on another wall. I've traveled a thousand miles just to have their beef and noodles. Last time I was there the guy before me got the last serving. Opting for a classic cheeseburger I received a seriously generous hand crafted patty, perfectly cooked medium with all the proper fixin's and condiments. My wife usually orders a grilled pork chop which never fails to satisfy. The salad bar is also a classic offering, and an essential with any meal. Town & Country is a worthy survivor from a better era and won't disappoint as long as you are open to a trip back to that era.
