While I'm not overly fond of the pricing, I do understand it--because for the perfect, high-quality pair of vintage jeans, I'd absolutely pay the price. This store specializes in vintage finds. they have furniture, glassware, jewelry, clothing, vinyl records, and a lot of other really cool pieces. You could spend a few hours in here, looking at everything they had. Their vintage clothing selection is quite extensive, although we both felt that the pieces were a bit overpriced. It was definitely a fun way to spend a few hours, but again we didn't spend any money because the clothing was so pricey. I had a bit of trouble finding it, today they did not have their sign out (I saw it folded up in the store), and google maps guided me a couple storefronts down. Keep looking. I had traveled from out of town to pick up some unsold items on the last day of my contract. One dress in particular had a security sensor attached -- which signaled to me that they understood its value -- but when they removed the sensor, it sprayed ink all over the white fabric. Despite the damage, they offered me just $22 for the dress, which I later sold on Poshmark for $100 the same day I picked it up. When I voiced my concerns, I was encouraged to speak with someone at the front desk, but the response was dismissive -- simply stating it would be treated as a markdown sale. There was no accountability, and it was clear there would be no resolution. I didn't bother to fight the way they seemed happy to conduct business, as this was my first experience. It was a disappointing experience that showed a lack of care for consigned items at Second Chance. I've learned my lesson and will not be returning. I'd recommend sellers explore other platforms or shops that treat high-value pieces with more respect and offer fairer returns.

Every corner you turn there's something new to googly-eye over. I particularly loved the inventory of art they have. I feel like I've seen something from just about every era for the last 100 years. Colorful art deco paintings, culturally specific tapestries, amazing glass structures, tons of impressionism pieces, I could go on and on. If you're looking to add some character to your space, I definitely suggest paying Grandview Mercantile a visit. If you'd like to sell items, there are very clear guidelines on their website. I have sold items a few times and love that I can get a bit more if I choose to get paid in store credit as opposed to cash. Any items that aren't selected for the shop get donated, which is awesome. If you're in the neighborhood I highly recommend checking out this little shop and the other sustainable shops (Koko and Little Light Collective) next door.
