I used to work in corporate retail and someone as talented as Luke is incredible at the displays andgropuoings throughout the entire store. This is a corner unit and they use this space and the one next door to perfection. This place makes one want to slow down and look at everything separately as it is not the least bit overwhelming as many other antique stores do. I love the condition everything is in. The staff aren't particularly friendly or welcoming even the wandering dog put off some snooty vibes. It seems organized and things are orderly which makes it easier for the shopper to shop. Anyway there is a huge variety of various items from thimbles, old cameras, books, records, signs, toys I truly could spend an entire day exploring and finding things. I thought this was a cute shop! They have a lot of china and tea sets (right now), and fun household goods from days gone by. My friend picked up some vintage maps and another found a tea pot and a chalice- type cup. I found a cute charm bracelet that had both new and vintage components. I think the shop is worth a wander if you're in Uptown Westerville. read more

I don't think I've ever had worse customer service in my life. The "gentleman" behind the counter (Let's just call him Mr. Dursley) was more interested in his online poker game than in helping us. I collect Victorian clothing and they had some pieces hanging from the ceiling that looked interesting so I asked to see them. He told me first that they were display-only and then that they were very expensive. Not one to balk at prices for unique pieces, I asked how expensive, and he said around $300. "Okay," I'm thinking, "I've paid more than that for good pieces," and repeated that I'd like to see them. At this point his response was "Well I'm not going to help you but I'll tell you where the pole is so you can get them yourself," and went back to his game. I'm pretty sure at this point my mother and I were just staring at him, stunned, and he asked a friend of his hanging out nearby to get the pole and help me. The pieces he pulled down for me were all priced - surprisingly, nothing was over $100 and not surprisingly it was all in terrible condition, so I passed on most of it and headed up front to pay for the pieces I did want. Mr. Dursley told me everything he had had been hanging up there forever and he didn't even know if it was priced. I told him it was, and his response was "Great, take it all." Having made deals like that in the past, I told him I would but he'd have to make me a heck of a deal on all of it given the condition. He snorted and rudely said "At $2000 a month rent, I don't make no deals," So let me get this straight - you have no idea what you have or what the prices are on it, it's rotting hanging from your ceiling, someone is genuinely willing to buy all of it as a package deal and you can't even muster a polite "No thank you"??? We put our purchases down and walked out. Clearly our business and our money wasn't welcome there, and I can only hope it had nothing to do with the Equality Ohio shirt I was wearing that he'd commented on earlier :/ As an FYI - his prices are extremely high for anything pre-1930 and it's ALL damaged and stained. All of it. In conclusion, he could have the best selection of antique clothes in Columbus and I would never set foot in this store again. Try The Alley instead! read more

My wife had the absolute worst customer service experience ever in this store. She was shopping today with our duaghter and mother in-law. She was going to buy a kitty cat stuffed animal for our daughter and one of the ladies who worked there came up and took it from her. Then one of the other employees told my wife that this was not a store for kids. I understand that they were in an antique store, but to take a toy away from a kid and then to tell the customer kids are not welcome is not acceptiable in my books. They will not see us ever again and I will be sure to pass this experience along to others. read more

I'm giving the store three stars because it's a really fun store to walk through when you're in the area and you really can't find some neat things here that you probably wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. You can even find it old window panes and project pieces here as well. Most things that I saw the prices of seemed pretty steep while others seemed like a good price. I had no interest in buying anything here as I did not find anything that I would want to buy or refurbish but now that I have more time and tools then maybe I would find something interesting. They have old furniture and old games. They even have a little room with old clothing and trunks. I feel like this is a store that you could walk into 100 times without anything changing but you still find new things. I love a store like that. I came here for the first time on Mother's Day two years ago with my mom and my grandmother. My grandmother had the best time in the store and this was the highlight of her day because she found a little cast iron bench that her parents had when she was growing up and that brought her some joy and old memories. Looks are deceiving. If youre used to antique stores in clintonville and the like, you'll feel at home. As per usual, everything is vaguely organized and what you see is what you get. The folks working there know where everything seems to be though(read: rifleman lunch box) and are quick to help (when you ask). They even have a decent clothig selection! I think they have expanded their store in the last few years. This is the perfect example of a fun. cluttered antique shop. The owners are friendly and there is a cute cat roaming the shop(beware if you have allergies). There is a TON of vintage clothing, jewelry, and hats. I had to restrain myself big time. I did find a really awesome two-piece suit for a reasonable price-I had been looking for one for a really long time. They have tons of, glassware, furniture, and a lot of toys and dolls. I even saw all these vintage Barbie cases that looked really cool. I saw so many things I would loved to have gotten. read more

Always willing to help and will even watch for items at auction for you if they don't have it but know there is an interest. Good pricing that can sometimes be negotiated. I went in here as a girl on a mission. I've been recently searching for an old pair of gorgeous leather gloves for winter (I know, its half over, don't tell me) and for some really lovely vintage long necklaces. You know the kind... with the long strings and circular beads of pearl or glass or stone. Every place I go has a plethora of hideous ones and no jewels (ha, unintentional pun) amongst them. I popped in to Westerville Antiques right as they were closing, saw the store cat and set down my keys so that I could pet it. It was incredibly sweet and snorgly and chubbeh. I abandoned the cat to look around for the necklaces and gloves. The jewelry collection here is not only large but actually high quality. There are some pieces that are modernly gorgeous. They manage to hit to vintage tone that is stylish. I found a couple of PERFECT necklaces amongst their collections, and had to talk myself out of getting a few more. The glove mission failed, but I persevere. I spent a while chatting with the people who owned the place. They were cheerful and friendly and sweet. It was a wonderful chance to get to know the store on a different level. They were honestly interested in what I was doing with my life, and didn't engage in the bored, one sided shopkeeper talk that is so common. I left with my necklaces wrapped in the cutest bag ever: It was a little popcorn bag! Vintage in style but sturdy and perfect. Now.... remember when I said that I stopped to stroke the cat? Remember what else I did there? Neither did I. I set down my keys.... and they were closing... MY KEYS!! Luckily for me they knew where I was going because they had pointed the store out to me and suggested it because its open until eight. The wife(?) of the shopkeeper came and tracked me down to give them back to me. She actually went absurdly out of her way to help me when I had done something as stupid as leaving my keys in the middle of the floor. They would have had a four because of the creepy level of religious icons in the store, but the kindness of that lady boosts it infinitely. (Also, their window was awesome. My daughter and I found this gem of an antique store during a recent Columbus Day weekend trip to visit our family in Ohio. We arrived at the store one hour prior to closing time and were the final customers of the day happily leaving the store with a wonderful selection of vintage items including dresses, hats, gloves and jewelry. The owner, Leslie and her assistant couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. The next day, I realized that I had lost a sentimental bracelet , possibly while trying on clothes. When I phoned the store, both Leslie and her husband went out of their way to search for my bracelet and even wrote me a note to say that they were unable to find it.(It was later found at another location I had also visited). If I lived in Ohio, I would frequent this shop on a regular basis. They also have a variety of interesting and unique household items and they display vintage outfits to demontrate how different pieces can be combined to create a unique look We wish that we had a store of this quality in New Jersey or Manhattan. read more
