On the third visit, I was told the reason I was experiencing the problem with my car is because I need a new engine. I was then given a $8,000 estimated repair cost. I left that dealership and called Skylights Automotive and I was asked to bring it in that same day. Not only was I told that I did not need a new engine, they repaired my car at a fraction of what the dealership was trying scam me for. If you ever experience any mechanical issues, please give them a try. You will not be disappointed. My car drives like a dream!

I pulled into an O'Reily's (see 5star review for that!) and Jay there recommended me to Carson at Val's, who were open on Sunday. My car made it there Sunday morning. Carson took me in right away and helped diagnose my car for a very reasonable fee, as well as gave me price estimates for the repairs. Due to other work I had recently had done, we decided that the best thing for me was actually to tow back to Indy. Carson gave me some paper work and their assessment results so that I could have some more info for my home garage. This kind of service, especially for an out of state, stressed out, traveller and then they didn't even get the big job -- it's just stellar and SO appreciated. So I called Scott's Nall's told them what has been happening and they gave me a couple of options, but told me if I wanted to drop off my car and they will test drive to find out the issues. I left my car in the morning and they didn't get to it until the afternoon. But for them to drive and give me an estimate and diagnose for free was amazing. I had this car for a while and have been on the fence on getting a new one. Scott's Nalls definitely helped me know what is wrong and let me decide which route is the best for me. They gave me my options for free and that is more that I could have asked for.

I had vehicle towed to Accurate Automotive. They said it would be $89.92 to do an engine…read moreanalysis. After doing the engine analysis, Accurate Automotive informed me the timing chain was broke. They informed me it would be 1400.35 to complete the repairs. I gave consent to proceed with fixing the car by replacing the timing chain. After starting the repairs, Accurate Automotive informed me the engine was damaged from the timing chain breakage. They offered to put in a new Jasper engine at a cost of $7200. I declined to have new engine installed in car. I inquired how much it would cost to repair the existing engine. They informed me they did not know without taking the heads apart, at a cost of $200 - $300. I declined further analysis. When I made arrangements to have car towed elsewhere, I was then charged $269.73, and they could not give me an estimate of what it would cost to repair the engine. My authorization of additional labor was based the understanding that they could repair the car by installing new timing chain at a total cost of $1400. Additionally they did not even put the car back together. When I went to discuss the bill, I was told to get the "H" of his property.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience…read more I brought my 2018 Hyundai Elantra in for repairs and was given a quote of $1,394, which I approved. When I picked up the vehicle, my total came to $1,806.92 -- about $500 more than the original quote. I was never contacted to approve any additional repairs or charges. After reviewing the invoice, I noticed I was charged for a part that was never installed. It took five days of contacting the owner to get $135 refunded for that item. I also noticed I was billed $300 for a part that costs around $145 at Advance Auto Parts. When I asked for clarification about the additional $500 beyond the original quote, I was told to speak with the shop manager. The manager is the one who authorized the charges in question, and I never received a clear explanation. The repair involved a timing chain and camshaft gear -- a common issue on this vehicle. While the car is now running properly, the lack of communication, additional unapproved charges, and billing for a part that wasn't installed made this a frustrating experience. I don't mind paying for quality work. I do mind being charged more than agreed without authorization and having to chase down a refund for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I witnessed their interactions with a couple of customers, and I could tell they are an honest shop with integrity.
