Our experience was GREAT from the minute we walked in. Although young, the engaged staff was attentive and interactive. I was offered a tour of the facility; everything appeared clean, organized & well planned. Their app with access to camper play areas on video is a wonderful way to check in on your pet. I watched his interaction with other dogs and the staff, as well as other play areas and the staff thoroughly cleaning floors/sections when dogs went outside for a time. The place is very clean and I liked the furniture and comfort this provided as I waited for my turn. Coffee, clean restrooms for customers, and available Wifi were definitely major pluses compared to other overnight/grooming facilities I have used in the past. I took the tour and liked the size and cleanliness of the overnight kennels and the hours allowed for playtime with other dogs. Both dogs will be tested for compatibility, a rule they have before daycare or overnight stays are allowed. Prices are very reasonable, and I do appreciate the cameras available to watch your pets when they are at play. The baths were done well and both wolves were happy with the outcomes.

Plus, we were a little tired of paying a kennel to watch the dog AND to have someone stop by for the cats. One of my friends works occasionally for Happy Tails, so I asked her her thoughts on it (she lives too far to make frequent visits to our house). She highly recommended Happy Tails outside of working for them, so we decided to give them a shot. We were a little reluctant giving a total stranger the key to our house, not to mention putting the well-being of our furry children in their hands, but we had to do something. The owner, Shelly, took care of the arrangements and we met Jason, who would be watching our pets and house during our absence. Jason seemed very nice and we liked that he had two dogs of his own. Upon our return, we were VERY impressed that Jason had not only looked after our pets, but sat with the dog for 1/2 an hour each time so he wasn't locked up in his crate all day, gave the one cat his medication twice daily, rotated leaving lights on in the house so it didn't look totally deserted, scooped the litterbox (even though we told him it wouldn't be necessary for the length of time we'd be gone), and even took out the garbage! Jason (and Happy Tails) went above and beyond our expectations, and it was cheaper than using the kennel, we were able to see the dog right when we got home (instead of waiting for kennel hours), someone looked after our house, and we didn't have to pull double-duty with the dog one place and the cats in another. What a great service and end to our trip! For our longer out-of-town trips when we feel guilty asking friends to make so many visits, we'll definitely use Happy Tails again.

When I took my pup to get her bath the next week, they said it'd be about an hour and a half and they called me exactly an hour and a half later. My dog was very soft and smelled nice. They were able to get a lot of her under coat off that I could not comb off myself. Gonna keep coming back!

Our previous groomer used to kennel some dogs and let others run loose. Jagger always came home shaking in fear. Lori's salon has a residential feeling to it. She also limits the number of dogs in the area. There's also no mixing of large and small breeds. The employees act like they honestly love animals. Our dog willingly goes to them (that's a big deal) and comes home happy. The groomers always perform a nice cut on him. They even trim his nails. I recommend Lori's

I am very disappointed in the actions of management and certain staff members at the Concord, NC…read morelocation. Lack of communication between employees became an issue from beginning to end for my grandfather's funeral arrangements. We were working from out of state to transport the body back to Concord where he had prearranged his funeral needs with Hartsell years ago. I was never assigned a funeral director so each time I called for assistance I had to speak to a different person resulting in no one making notes in his folder or passing along pertinent information to other staff members. I had to repeat the situation again and again to each person who took my call. After the death of a loved one you should not have to feel responsible for making sure everything is done properly, at some point you would think you could leave it in the funeral home's hands. After so many miscommunications with staff we had lost all confidence in Hartsell and the family followed the hearse to the church to make sure it arrived at the right location. That is sad. To top it off they ran the obituary in the newspaper a week after the funeral, another error on Hartsell's staff as the newspaper had it on time. With so many things going wrong at one funeral how can this place stay in business?? I hope other families did not experience what we did. I know they have been around many years and are very reputable but the lack of management stepping in to assure us they would get it right NEVER happened. As my grandfather was a retired fireman I have to say the Concord Fire Dept. stepped up to the plate and did an excellent job at honoring him. THEY were truly the professionals. I'm giving 2 stars for the other employees who were very apologetic and knew the situation couldn't be fixed but offered their sympathy and respect for the family.
