The…read morebuilding appears to be in decent condition but the a/c wasn't working properly and the workers kept grumbling about it. Many, if not most of the items were extremely picked over and in poor condition and over-priced. Then, those exact same items were price-tagged in red and were only 50 cents that day. Was that deliberate to sell them or just a coincidence? Also, certain price tag colors had discounts but it depended upon the cashier to determine if they were going to honor that discount or not. They had appliances in bad shape; broken, rusty, and no price tags. On the other hand, many pieces of furniture on the floor appeared to be right out of a store and priced quite high ($150 for one end table) for a thrift shop. Are they new or used? Some were obviously used, others I just couldn't tell. The clothing section was very large and seemed quite poor. Although, a woman before me found a treasure trove of '80s suits someone donated in excellent shape and she bought them all. I'm not interested in them, but it did get me thinking that if one was hunting for things like that, then this place would be one to keep in mind. There was a media room (electronics?, not sure) and books in another area through a doorway, that I did not check out. Only the cashiers were masked. The workers stocking things were masked when we first arrived but soon took them off, and were grumbling about that as well. They seemed to grumble about a lot of things. The biggest problem with this thrift shop is that the loading of purchases and the unloading of donations happen in the same area: the front doors of the store. People show up in very large pick-up trucks with flat bed trailers and park in front of the store and literally block the doors and make the first row of parking spaces very difficult to pull in and out of. Will we come back here? Maybe. Might wait a few months and check this place out again.

There are two owners (husband & wife), & a total of 25 dealers represented here. The owners were away today (7/21/19); the older gentleman (dealer) who replaced them was a sweetheart-- friendly & helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. (Truly a great guy:) There was vintage furniture here, including antique furniture (100 years or older). There were even some really nice primitive pieces, such as a butler's sideboard (see pic). The glass items sold here are beyond reproach-- so many quality glass pieces (such as Fenton) in mint condition. Lots of Roseville & Hull pottery as well. Impressive collection of glassware & pottery at fair prices! Lots of vintage silver jewelry here, along with some 10k, 12k, & 14k pieces. I saw an extensive coin collection, & many vintage dolls & toys, Disney collectibles, as well as camping cookware, vintage tools, vinyl & CD's, mid century glassware, clocks, & lighting. (I could go on & on:) As someone who has spent considerable time antiquing over the years, this is a shoppe I would visit quite often if I lived closer. The section near the front door has some interesting finds, though pricing can be a bit high relative to condition. Even so, I did manage to pick up a few items I had been looking for at reasonable prices. The deeper section inside the store is where I had the best luck, with a much better mix of selection and value. There is a lot to go through, and I ended up making a second trip back just to finish digging through everything I wanted to explore. I came away with several great vinyl finds on both visits. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very personable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Free parking right by the front entrance is another added benefit, especially since street parking in the area is metered during weekday business hours. I also noticed they have a large selection of comic books, which may be of interest if you enjoy collecting those as well. If you enjoy digging for records and don't mind spending time searching, Lloyds of Lakeland is definitely worth a stop.

I found several books and my friend found some pillows and a few other things. We will be back, when we are in this area again!
