The Wildwood Antique Mall of Lakeland is part of the Wildwood Antique Mall chain. Wildwood Antique Mall claims to be one of the largest antique dealers in Florida. It was started in 2011, when 77-year-old Manny Pesco took his last $4,000 from his former auction business that had closed because of the 2008 recession and invested the money into the first Wildwood Antique Mall that took its name from the intersection it is located on. Other locations opened in Eustis, Vero Beach, and Titusville opened in the intervening years and the investment turned out to be a good one since all of the locations do around 5 million dollars annually. What makes this antique mall different from the other stores in the chain is the abundance of merchandise available from the theme parks. I found booths for both Universal and Disney items. The fun starts when you walk in the door and there is a carriage from Disney's Port Orleans resort out front and you are greeted by a velociraptor straight out of Universal Studios just inside the door. Wildwood Antique Mall of Lakeland has all of the typical booths of antiques you would expect to find but my favorite booths were the ones filled with Disney and Universal Studios merchandise. Recycling the Magic had a Splash Mountain log flume car, Vault Collectibles sells Disney and Universal studios props, and Melly's Remarket sells Disney art. My favorite booth was the Jurassic World Tribute store in the back of mall with a ton of Universal Studio items. They had an extensive horror collection and many other one of a kind items. I especially loved all of the Haunted Mansion items I found throughout the mall. If you are a theme park fan like me this is a must stop if you are in Lakeland. Prices for the real collectibles were more than I could afford but I found a Haunted Mansion Loungefly for only $25. There is something for everyone. Allow a few hours for a visit because this antique mall feels never ending. I could have easily spent all day here.

It is just a short walk to the historic Dundee depot museum. After being cheerfully greeted I was left to explore. As I looked around I was impressed with the artful arrangement and staging of furniture, art, and household goods throughout several rooms. Some of my favorite finds were the many vintage Christmas decorations, especially the sweet deer, beautiful furniture, a wreath made out of succulents and flower pots, and the adorable rabbit ornaments that adorned a tree. Prices ranged from just a few dollars to many hundreds. There is so much to see here that brings back memories. Find a one of a kind gift or that perfect piece to finish a room.

Upon entering Southern Gentleman Antiques it became clear the owner definitely appreciates all that visit - after a gracious greeting and invitation to explore every area of the shop he also offered refreshments and made us aware of the public restroom which is rare these days and although I passed on the refreshments I did visit the extremely clean and well maintained restroom I can't say enough about the customer service here. we were encouraged to ask any questions on the merchandise and we were left to explore this beautiful shop at our leisure. There are several rooms full, absolutely stocked full of goodies, and it does not look that roomy on the outside of the store. Of course, your pick of gorgeous and unique furniture, locally made prints of Lakeland and even antique shaving sets. There was a giant old school Mickey that greeted me at the door. I immediately gravitated to a large stack of pancakes that serve as a dish cover. Realistic food props are always my favorite accessory to buy for a house. In the back of the store was a large section of items from theme parks. Not just inside the parks themselves, but also pieces from hotels. Like even the phones from the hotel rooms! You can find all sorts of stuff. If you are into spooky stuff and like Halloween, there was lots of props and signs from Halloween Horror Nights. It was nice to see real antiques. Sometimes you go to antique stores but there are lots of vendors inside that have faurly new stuff. Mostly it was antiques. As soon as I walked in I was met by the greeter, security, manager, and all around good boy Nash. Nash accompanied me around the store a bit before he got bored and went to take a nap. Good help is hard to find. G's is an antique mall made up of booths with individual vendors. If you find something you like you can just bring it up front and pay. They had a wide variety of inventory including furniture, home goods, clothing, books, and holiday decorations. There was even a saddle which is how you know you are in farm country. My favorite booth was the vintage kitchen with the vintage Pyrex I love. I found the prices on the Pyrex to be comparable to other stores I have shopped in Central Florida. G's does a great job decorating their windows for the holidays and right now it is Christmas themed.
