This Eastern Europe trip was a 12-day tour group, and we went through Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, and one more country that I forgot the name of it. If you guys are looking for a trip that covers mountains, lakes, Rhine River, Alps Mountain, castles, cathedrals, old city architectures, cemetery, and plazas, this is the trip that you won't regret! My friend and I both had a great time in Austria (that's where we went and saw Queen Maria Theresa's palace), Czech Republic (Prague is a full-day event that we saw cathedrals, palaces, Golden Lane, and city walls), and went to visit the Musikverein (Golden Music Hall)...These 3 locations are the most memorable moments throughout the trip. Oh and that New Swan Castle built by King Ludwig II in Germany was really awesome as well. The guide was very professional and responsive throughout the trip. She was very helpful and would come to help us whenever we have issues at the hotel or with the restaurant servers. I gotta say, watch out for the summer in Eastern Europe because it's humid and hot like Taiwan. Okay, maybe not as bad but close. Only when after the rain, then the temperature would be soooo much more durable and enjoyable! Also, the food portion is pretty big, so if you can't finish, better tell the server you are sharing with friends and order just one item, otherwise they would not be happy.

No one was there. No sign. No instructions. No communication. We walked the airport asking staff and drivers using the company names we were given and no one recognized them. The "emergency" phone number provided was useless. No one answered. The hotel tried to help and eventually told us to take a taxi. We only found our shuttle because a random tour guide took pity on us and located it on the opposite side of the airport with no signage. Only then did we learn the shuttle company was Mapa a name never disclosed to us. At the hotel, we discovered our reservation was under another completely different company name ("Rida"). None of this was communicated in advance. All bookings were placed under my name alone, even though all four travelers paid separately. Because of this incompetence, we spent the entire trip anxious that our prepaid tours and even our return airport transfer might not happen. This level of disorganization is unacceptable, especially for international travel and late-night arrivals. Dubai itself was amazing, but this company turned the start of our trip into a confusing and unsafe situation. I strongly recommend booking elsewhere.

David was amazing! He is very prompt, professional, and helpful, which helped to put our minds at ease taking this tour (which was a first for both us). Our entire trip occurred just as planned. We participated in all of the events/activities planned at the locations on the itinerary listed on their website. If there are any changes, they will email you an updated itinerary or the tour guides will update the tour group the day before or day of. The hotels included in their tour packages were just as described. They were clean, well kept, and cozy. The hotel staff were amazing as well. As stated on their website, some meals are included. A buffet breakfast is usually included with each hotel stay. Lunch and dinner may or may not be included, just double check your itinerary. Our tour guides for both Japan and South Korea were amazing! Han is hilarious, personable, and very knowledgable of both Korean history/culture and American culture/history. Oba-san is very respectful and also very knowledgable of Japanese culture/history. Both were very unique, interesting tour guides that kept our tour group together and entertained. Our group was all in that 25-30 age range, and trying to get everyone on the same page for a Taiwan trip was a total nightmare from the start. We were all pretty stressed out just thinking about the logistics, but we chose Lion Travel because they're such a powerhouse for Taiwan and they clearly know the island better than anyone else. They basically took over and had the entire itinerary set up for us so we didn't have to worry about a thing. We wanted to see all the classic touristy places--everything from Taipei 101 to Jiufen and Shifen. The biggest challenge was definitely the Taipei 101 fireworks. If you've ever tried to book anything for 25 people during a huge event like that, you know how notoriously difficult it is to find vendors who can actually handle it. Lion Travel moved incredibly fast and managed to get everything locked in despite the hurdles. It was a total end-to-end service and honestly felt seamless. Lion Travel made numerous false and misleading representations and repeatedly demonstrated a disturbing disregard for the physical safety, health, and well-being of its customers. For example, the company placed guests in a hotel that housed cats without making sure it's not a health concern for travelers. This level of negligence could have triggered a severe respiratory reaction or even a life-threatening medical emergency. The hotel accommodations were also shockingly unsafe. No elevator, bathroom lacked basic safety features including a shower door/curtain, safety grab bars, and anti-slip mat. After showering, the entire bathroom floor became dangerously wet and slippery, creating a serious fall hazard that could easily result in broken bones, head trauma, or even death. Another family left the tour that night. At the hotel, we suffered close to one hundred bedbug bites and later confirmed by a dermatologist to be bedbug bites. We caught and killed a bedbug on the bed. The bites caused severe allergic reactions, intense itching, elevated blood pressure, headaches, and significant emotional distress. This injury completely ruined not only the tour itself, but our entire trip in Taiwan. Unbelievably, Lion Travel feels they are only responsible for one night hotel charge. The company further endangered participants with a 1.5-hour bicycle ride in extreme heat and humidity along a route with virtually no worthwhile scenery. Conditions were so severe that one nearby traveler rode for only ten minutes before becoming intensely flushed and appearing on the verge of a medical emergency. In another incident, the driver assured us that a mountain hike would be easy and manageable. However, there were absolutely no contingency or safety arrangements for travelers unable to complete the hike. As a survivor of triple bypass heart surgery, I began experiencing chest tightness and shortness of breath at the midway point and physically unable either to continue to the summit or return safely to the starting point. I came dangerously close to suffering another heart attack. Lion Travel promised but didn't provide an English-speaking tour guide. The driver had extremely limited English proficiency. So I was unable to understand the tour information, cultural explanations, or instructions, which diminished my ability to appreciate the advertised experiences. In addition, several major attractions and activities promoted in the itinerary were either misrepresented or not available at all. For example, the promised "National Banquet" in Puli was never provided. At the Golden Needle flower farm, there were no Golden Needle flowers to see whatsoever, and travelers were left sitting idly for the afternoon. At Carp Lake, the boat rental had reportedly been closed for a long time, yet the tour still stopped there primarily for restroom use. Similarly, at Chi-Mei, there had been no food production activities to watch, and once again the stop appeared to serve little purpose beyond providing access to a restroom. These repeated disappointments created the impression that the itinerary was outdated, misleading, and poorly managed. The driver also failed to arrange adequate restroom breaks throughout the tour. On multiple occasions, we were forced to relieve ourselves outdoors in the open. At times, passengers were even forced to use small plastic bags inside the tour van as makeshift toilets. This was degrading, humiliating, and risking urinary tract infections; unacceptable for an organized tour. It is deeply alarming that a company as large as Lion Travel could operate with such a gross negligence and repeatedly expose its customers to serious and potentially life-threatening dangers. Despite the seriousness of the bedbug bite incident, Lion Travel only offered a small compensation, which is totally unreasonable as the pain and suffering lasting not only one night, but for the entire rest of the tour, the remainder of our 5-week Taiwan trip and beyond. In addition, exposing us in hazardous ways that risk our lives is a very serious matter. DO NOT USE LION TRAVEL'S SERVICE. Although when I do decide to go, I would like to give Uyehara my business. My reason for going is to stock up on specialty Okinawan comestibles that are rare to find in Japanese supermarkets in the United States. I will list two that I always try to keep in my pantry. There are other Okinawan products that are not food related but could serve as gifts which you'll have to see for yourself since the stock seems to change. 1) Sanpin Cha: "Blend of Japanese green tea leaves and Chinese white tea & jasmine flowers has been Okinawa's tea of choice for centuries. Incredibly refreshing both hot or iced, its low caffeine content makes it the perfect tea for any time of day. Mildly sweet, it complements savories or sweets." 2) Piyāshi: "Okinawa Long Pepper has many names in Okinawa like Pipātsu, Hibātsu, Biya-ji. Generally called long pepper, sometimes called Indian long pepper or Balinese long pepper. Long pepper is made by drying and roasting half-ripen fruit. Then grinding it to powder. Okinawa people use it as a spice or seasoning to sprinkle over Okinawa soba or mix with Chanpuru. Mild spicy piquancy and sweet aftertaste attract people with a mixture of flavours like Japanese Sansho pepper with its tongue numbing, smoky, refreshing bitterness, and green stick aromatics. Some say sweet aroma of cinnamon & star anise. It especially popular in southern part of islands of Okinawa (Iriomote, Ishigaki, Yonaguni and others)." The bus was very uncomfortable, especially seats at the back, which are even more shallow. We had to sit in this old bus for the first and the last days. Last day was ok since seats change and moving to the front is more spacious. The tour guide was mediocre, talked way too much. Yet not really useful information, repeating things over and over again. Yet she was super unclear about were to meet up and unorganized. Also her attitude was not very friendly, rude at times. Still we have to pay the tip, she really deserved less than $8 per day. I remembered the morning of the 2nd day, we had to wake up as early as 5:10AM to go to Antelope Canyon. Which is okay, because ai understand that traveling with a group, we must head out early and work as a team. I was expecting at least a "good morning, how was your sleep" to everyone. NOO she didn't , she just asked everyone " what's your group number, it felt like counting sheeps. The agent Miss Li told me that the tip will be $8 per day per person. I have confirmed this with her. But in reality, the second day tour guide, a man this time, asked for $10. This was not what the agent told me. I don't like to be lied to. If you want to charge $10, then say so in the beginning, don't change the price from what you originally have promised me. It's not the problem of the extra $2, it's about keeping your words and being trustworthy, which they have failed to do. The guy tour on the second day was very knowledgeable about the places we were visiting. However he only used Chinese. My boyfriend do not speak Chinese, and same goes for few other people on the bus. Inconsiderate. The only good thing about the trip was the attraction places itself, the Antelope Canyon and Las Vegas. And also the cheap price of about $230 per person including tips and hotels and transportation. Tour guide is chatty, she is bilingual and her english is clear, not like some chinese tour guide which i encountered before whch is hard to listen. Though she is sometimes bit harsh to passenger if they are late, but so far i like the promptness, no time waste, and she will let you know exactly what you need to do in advanced!
