This review is for the January 2026 Thailand tour. What an amazing trip, as we are still talking about it. Supera did an excellent job in showing us the highlights of this beautiful country. We were spoiled and treated like VIPs throughout. Highlights include: Temples - so many Buddhist temples, beautiful and unique. Elephant sanctuary - A highlight! Up close and personal with these majestic creatures. We walked with them, made and fed them medicinal treats. Tuk Tuk tour - a VIP tour of the streets of Chang Mai. So fun and enjoyable. Hotels resorts - beautiful, elegant and top service including massages and buffet breakfasts. Food - Supera goes out of their way to handpick local specialties that most tourists don't know about. The food was unique and delicious. A real treat. Transportation - buses, longboats, flights - all handled for us, including all luggage transfers. Our tour guide Betty Tsai. What a pro! She's the perfect mix of organization and keeping it fun. Her attention to detail kept us moving smoothly through the trip. She even managed to work with the Mandarin Oriental to get me a personal item I accidentally left at the hotel after checkout. Ms A - so cute, with excellent knowledge of Thai culture and history. My wife and I have been very happy travelers with Supera/Signet tours in the past. But they demonstrated awesome above-and-beyond customer service for our latest trip to Hokkaido. A family emergency necessitated my cutting my trip short and return to the U. S., and as soon as the tour staff learned of my predicament, they reached out to me and had the return flight arranged for me within 2 hours. Amazing tour company. We just got back from our tour of Taiwan and it was outstanding. Eva Lin (our guide in Taiwan) was beyond amazing. The hotels and cuisine exceeded our expectations. For our first trip to Taiwan, it was hard to believe the places we went were actually "Taiwan". Sun-Moon Lake for example, felt like a high mountain lake in Europe. Parts of the Alishan Mountains felt like we were in one of California's coastal redwood parks. In sum, it was a fabulous tour. We want to go back and do one of Supera's other tours of Taiwan (i.e., Taiwan's east coast) next. read more

If you take a tour with Supera and ask people why they went, it's not likely going to be because of online reviews. With most tours, it's because it's repeat customers. For the rest, among the people I've met on tours, it's been because of word of mouth personal recommendation. If you are here, chances are it's to see what others say about what someone recommended to you. I don't normally like to review things like touring companies, because it could come down to the individual tour or tour guide. But after a number of tours with Supera, each with a different guide, as much as I'd like to praise specific excellent guides, I would likely find that with any of their tours, their standards and expectations are so high that I'd get the same great experience. Supera has a strong presence in Japan and I've been on two of those tours. In each case, they went beyond what other companies do, went to places and restaurants that don't normally cater to tour groups, and their guides go out of their way to help with problems even if they don't seem to be tour related. Most recently, I went with them to Iceland. Again, they considered so many fine details that other companies overlook. For example, one location had a huge problem with midges and we were given mosquito nets for our heads. I watched people from other groups swatting away. Even the tour guide from Viking Cruises overlooked that for her group, and Viking isn't known for getting things wrong. It's little things like this, and guides who are in tune with changing conditions who are trained to handle contingencies that matter. I gave only one example of what might seem like a small detail, but they got the small details right everywhere else too. Chances are you will meet people on the tour who can describe firsthand their experience with other Supera tours. Groups tend to be small so it's easy to get to know people. Based on what I learned, I'm sure that I'll be using Supera again. read more

Recently returned from the Hokkaido Winter Festival tour...had a wonderful time! It was much more than I had anticipated! You can read the itinerary but you don't know what it's really like until you actually experience it. I loved all the activities that we did, like snow showing in the forest. Unfortunately, nature did not cooperate and so no drift ice to walk on or to cruise through! That really would've put it over the top! Food and hotels were all excellent. Hotel buffets are quite impressive with all the choices available. Enjoyed the two opportunities I had to have a private onsen in our room. And I had Junko as my tour guide for the second time - first time back in 2017. She was absolutely wonderful and a lot of fun! Would definitely love to do another Supera tour and have Junko again! I would like to mention that it would've been nice at the very beginning of the tour to have had an initial dinner together to meet Junko and the others in our group. Other than that, I absolutely loved experiencing winter in Hokkaido! And look forward to another tour with Supera in the future! read more

Hokkaido and Tohoku tour in Japan 2024. My family of 4 had a very enjoyable tour to see some of the beautiful, scenic, natural areas in Japan. The 2 guides (and 2 drivers) used during the tour were all excellent and were helpful with whatever was needed. They were quickly responsive to any questions asked in the Telegram app that was used for communication with the group. The tour was all-inclusive and had full, interesting itineraries, but not overdone that we were tired. There was no free time with optional added pay activities that you may see from other tour companies. The hotels were all excellent 5 star and the vast majority of meals were included for excellent local cuisines. They didn't try to cater to Western tastes, which we don't like in some other tour companies. This was the third time using Supera (or their predecessor Super Value Tours) and we will be back again. Overall, great tour at a reasonable price. Easy to book with good follow up by the staff to ensure that everything was set for our tour. read more

This was our first tour group excursion encompassing an entire week so we weren't sure how a vacation would turn out in someone else's hands and were pleasantly surprised! Accommodations The hotels we stayed at on this trip were exceptional, each having their own charm that was leveraged beneficially. For instance our stay at The Fujiya Hotel was a mountainside retreat known for its hot water Onsen and this was a feature worth exploring. And where do you see hotel staff on your arrivals and departures waving enthusiastically at you, it kind of gave us goosebumps like kids get on sought after field trips! Food Eating abroad is always a challenge but the Supera group shines in this area meticulously crafting breakfast lunch and dinner experiences that were as memorable as the sites! Transportation The coach bus trips made travelling in a high density district seamless and our tour guide made good use of the time going over itineraries and fielding questions about what to expect. We even had a vocabulary lesson! Tour Guide What really set the tone for the trip was how enthusiastic, friendly, and attentive our tour guide was to our needs. Achy tooth, got it, shopping inquiries, check, restaurants, here's a list. We were spoiled on this outing having Marine hosting her first tour along with Eriko the seasoned pro . Both ladies were as vital to this magical experience as the sights themselves and their good nature carried over into the group as many of us exchanged invites that will last a lifetime. We recently took the Supera "Japan Classics: Kanto + Kansai" tour. We've gone on day tours and such but had never taken a tour for the entire trip. So we didn't totally know what to expect, but we were really happy with it. First and foremost, our guide Eriko was amazing -- super nice, very energetic and upbeat, knowledgable, and highly competent. It was clear that quality of the guide would make a huge difference, and she was outstanding and really made the trip. Second, the food. I am really into good food and I was afraid it might be so-so on a big group tour. I needn't have worried. Some of the meals were very fancy, some quite casual, but they were all of really high quality. Great variety and selection too. Third, the agenda. It's my only time to Japan but I thought they did a nice job choosing where to go. And fourth, the execution. It all just went so smoothly... they clearly are very experienced and have worked the kinks out. Of course our amazing guide deserves a some of the credit here as well. So overall, we were very happy with our first tour experience and had a great time. I'm sold on tour trips, at least with Supera! We hope to travel with them again in the future. read more

I have heard about the wonderful tours that are offered by Supera through my friend who has taken over a dozen tours with Supera.  We have travelled to Japan for more than 20 times on our own, I signed up for the tour although my husband was very skeptical about traveling in Japan with a tour.  We were pleasantly surprised with the tour.  The tour gave us the opportunities to see the Japan that we have never seen before and provided the top notch experiences one can asked for.  The sites, the food, the accommodations.  And especially our guide, Hui; she was so wonderful, she took such good care of us that we felt lost without her when we had our extended stay in Tokyo after the tour.  Hui was very pleasant, always has a positive demeanor, explained all the history and inform us of the schedule and attentive to all the details.  I was just so amazed watching her sending off different parties at the Tokyo station at the end of the tour.  She made sure every party goes to the right place and onto the right transfer train or get out of the right gate for each party's extended stay in Japan.  There were lots of people and many different directions.  She walked us all the way to the right gate to exit and catch a taxi.  One party was going to the west of Japan, another party goes to the south of Japan. 3 parties stay in Tokyo and the rest would go on to the airport.  Hui didn't even seem stressed with all the different demand but I can clearly see the sweat dripping from her forehead.  After this experience, we have made a decision to join Supera tour at least once a year.  This was not our first experiences with Supera tours.  We took the Vietnam and Cambodia tour and the Yellow mountain tour in China before the pandemic and had wonderful experiences with those tours too.  Highly recommend! read more

My recent tour with SuperA to Peru has been as memorable as my last two (Hokkaido, Taiwan). But this one stands out so I decide to write about it. Due to its altitude and terrain, Peru/Machu Picchu poses particular challenge to ordinary traveler like myself. Trip design is excellent, well paced, top notch hotels, exquisite cuisine. All of our tour guides are great. Special shout-out to our lead Manu. He is responsive, resourceful and with attention to detail. I recently took the Iceland tour. It was one of the best tours my husband and I have ever taken. The sites were spectacular, including beautiful waterfalls, lava tube, cave exploration, sulphur springs, glacier adventures, and scenic hikes. I saw wildlife I have never seen before. The food was delicious and fresh. We had a fun and diverse group of people in this tour. We were delayed 1 day because Hurricane Beryl hit Houston. Manu, our guide, made seamless arrangements for us to meet up with the rest of the tour. Thank you Manu! Our guide Manu was superb. He was professional, personable, knowledgeable, funny, and a terrific person. We were so impressed with Manu that we wish to sign up for Supera's Spain and Portugal tour, with him as our guide. He blended perfectly with our group, adding not only his excellent driving skills, but also his personal experiences, quick wit, and sense of humor. 5+ stars for the 10 day 8 night Japan classics tour. Eriko was our guide and was the star of the trip. She made each day interesting while catering to our group as a whole. Constantly working around the clock to make changes to the itinerary that suited our group of 13 including 7 kids and teens. The itinerary was perfect in that my husband and I felt we saw and did much more than we could have only on our own. The food was beyond stellar and we loved their planned meals for us. When they couldn't find restaurants big enough for all of us, they gave us money to eat on our own. The kids all enjoyed the hot springs, bamboo garden, sleeping on the floor, shopping, dressing up in traditional kimonos, and the Cup Noodle Museum. The adults enjoyed the kaiseki meals, the history and day and evening walks, and the attention to details for a large private group. Thank you Supera!!! read more

We just returned from a fourth tour with this company and the experience was nothing short of sensational. Having done two Taiwan tours and Hokkaido, we decided to take the Kansai Kanto Japan Classics this time. As always, our tour guide was energetic, passionate and accommodating to all guests. The food: we felt like it was just the right balance of buffet, set meals, and dinners on our own. It was nice to have a variety including a "Japarench" (French) cuisine, English Tea, and flagship restaurants that require reservations far in advance. One was on the 46th floor in Shinjuku, another was in our Kyoto hotel both with unforgettable views. Value: we are particularly mindful of what we spend on so it was nice that at times we were in an off-the-beaten-path restaurant, and at times eating in a Michelin star restaurant. We were impressed that the tour included a $468/p (advertised price) meal in addition to a room in the premier hotel Okura, Kyoto. Likewise the accommodations were occasionally above and beyond what we'd expect. The only way to achieve this is they can't advertise and guarantee restaurants and hotels so as to allow them to negotiate the best options. We also like that this company doesn't try to game the system by fluctuating the prices or leaving you to purchase expensive travel insurance. Unlike some companies we've considered, the tour includes basic travel insurance. The sightseeing: we really enjoyed every outing with our guide. Due to frequent breaks and conscientious restroom stops we never had sore feet despite 4-5 mi per day. Although Japan was fairly crowded, we felt we took a few detours off the beaten path. The Kiyomizu Temple Early Morning walk was a memorable highlight. Instead of visiting the temple midday with the crowd, we had the option of additionally starting at 6am and see the temple in its quiet morning beauty as the mist cleared. Iyashi no Sato Village was another example of finding beauty without the crowds. We were hesitant at first to wear rented kimonos but once the other guests wore them with us in a photo it was priceless. The Itchiku Kubota Art Museum with kimonos and the Miho Museum were lightly attended and breathtaking. Entertainment: Our guide was full of repertoire for every day. She taught us beginning level Japanese, shared her personal history that led to becoming a tour guide, and frequently shared anecdotes. We enjoyed karaoke night as well as a night where she allowed each of us to take a moment to introduce ourselves and life passions. When we went to a Yuzen dying class near the end of the day, I thought it might be too much and was skeptical we'd make an art piece worth keeping. By the end of the hour, we were amazed at everyone's work and I was excited to have a perfect gift to share with my aunt. Much of what made this tour special were the little things. For example, on the day of our departure after saying goodbye to our group the night before, we still had planned to meet up with my aunt and uncle. We realized we weren't sure where to go with them for a short walk. That morning, we found a map on our doorstep with handwritten suggestions. Our guide thought of everything and met our needs before we realized we even had them. Looking back out tour felt like such a well orchestrated offering of immersion into culture. Like a kimono, like a piece of architecture, it was an expression of art in itself. read more

I have excellent experiences with Supera tours. I joined Taiwan island tour in September 2023 & Hokkaido Snow Festival tour in this month, February 2024. Their service and local knowledge as well as the selection of first class hotels are top notched. They also provided best local food every day. Price is reasonable. If we go to the place by ourselves, we won't be able to select those good food and hotels as well as well thought paced tours with same price. Usually the tour starts with a lot of walking and tight schedules but gradually creates slower pace as they consider not to wear out our energy. Local tour guides were very knowledgeable and they were super nice. Five of us joined but we got along very well with the rest of tour participants. Supera creates such a nice atmosphere that the whole participants got along very well without any pressure. read more

Absolutely wonderful Kanto-Kansai experience. Lodging was comfortable and classy, with two nights in traditional rooms every bit as restful (more so?) than the 'western' accommodations. Food was delicious, varied and plentiful - and very unique and local. We felt spoiled at most restaurants, as part of the tour group. But the sites we visited were spectacular. Breath-taking Kubota Itchiko art/kimono museum. Castles in Kyoto and Osaka. Imperial Gardens in Tokyo. Great Buddha at Todai-ji. The Golden Palace. Amazing Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples. And a guide (Eriko) with colorful and detailed knowledge of 2000 years of Japanese history involving the empires and the Shogunates. The pace was perfect, the site timing and choices were just right, and Eriko even helped me find bonsai (Hoshun-in Garden) to admire. I couldn't recommend this tour more. read more

We just took the 3rd guided tour with Supera in Japan, still the best quality that we've always received from the office and Eriko, our tour guide in Tokyo. The programs/sites visited were slightly modified from the past, I.e. added the Itchiku Kubota art museum; the beautiful artwork is beyond words could describe. We also found out that our guides in the prior 2 tours from the past 10 years are still with the company (Miko and Hui), this speaks well for the operations.
