This rating is mostly based on the enormous Bourbon/Rye selection and me being able to horde Charles Woodon's Bourbon! Incredible selection given the size of the store and all your other last-minute shopping needs and staples are there (horseradish? Check; freezer fries? Check...). I don't know what others are talking about - staff and owner were very friendly and busted on me for being a Michigan grad in a jovial manner. Great one-stop shopping on the Lake! read more

I'm asthmatic and wearing a mask is detrimental to my health. They actually have the audacity to ask people to provide a note from a doctor to enter, despite the executive orders exemption. I don't appreciate being discriminated against our beloved because of my medical disability. read more

I have spent close to or over $100 at this party store as it is close to me and I am a minor. I went in there last summer with a friend my mom asked me to buy her a Coke so I did so after I paid I asked Lynda (the owner) if she could break a $5 so I could buy myself candy she was very rude to me and said "this is not a bank you should have paid with the 5" I paid for the pop with my moms' money the 5 was mine (note I have severe anxiety from my childhood and people being rude makes me have anxiety attacks) so I left. When I got home and told my mom what happened she called Lynda to get her side of the story. Lynda yelled at my mom over the phone saying "if you wanna talk to me about your bratty daughter come to the store" and hung up. This is not the first time she has done stuff like this. The worst part about her store is she underpays kids (who are too young to work) and also lets the sell Nicotine products and alcohol. read more

I've been to this store several times over the past few years. I don't live in the area but vacation here often and stop here for snacks and beer out of necessity. The prices are slightly higher than if you drive 20 minutes to Walmart, and they require a $10 card limit to avoid a surcharge. A six-pack of Budweiser will cost $8. I've never had negative service here, and it's always been quick and friendly. So, if you don't know how to close a damn cooler door and decide to make a bunch of ridiculous demands, then you deserve shitty service. read more

Rude. Unprofessional experience. I've been to Good Times a few times over the years. My first trip in I had an issue with a beverage that was already opened (drink was ruined - couldn't drink) and the store wouldn't replace the product. Didn't make me happy, but it was only a loss of a few dollars. My recent trip in for water and a few other things really was too much, though. I decided to share some thoughts. One of the employees in this store is flat out rude. Odd, nasty, negative comments to customers for no purpose. Off-handed weird, negative commentary to customers doesn't rate to highly on my list of positives. I didn't get her name, but she shouldn't be interacting with customers - people spending money in your store - with that extremely poor attitude. Memo to ownership: a pleasant staff goes a long ways. Anyone looking for a party store on the west side of Higgins Lake, I would avoid Good Times. Save yourself the "pleasure" of dealing with Ms. Negative. Aim for another party store. * There is a pleasant employee at this store as well. But that doesn't make up for the other gem. Look elsewhere when shopping for your beer, pop, chips and ice. read more

My parents and I have been shopping at Goodtimes for 20 years! This is the best locally owned store you can go to! Need craft beer they have it, want some aged bourbon this is your place! Personalities are unique, but welcome to cottage living! The prices are slightly higher, but that means more time on the lake or on the snowmobiles; plus you don't spend gas money to travel 15 miles! I truly love Higgins lake such a quiet beautiful place to visit. We visit 3-4 times a year. The last 3 or 4 years we have went to good times for our last minute supplies or to restock or just for some snacks and each and every time to staff is extremely rude and unwelcoming. We were there this weekend and as we were going to be purchasing a large amount of pop upwards to 10-15 as we have a large group plus some snacks, the lady at the counter yells to shut the cooler door, ok then we will stop getting pop and put the ones we have back. We walked out of the store not purchasing anything. For being a small hometown business I would expect a smiling friendly face, but got the opposite. I recommend they hire new staff as apparently the people they have hate life and anything to do with customer service. Take your money to a small business that appreciates its customers. They obviously must be too good for us small town folk and not need any sales or money. Or they need a lesson in good old customer service!! read more

Well I usually enjoy the store as I frequent there often. The prices are much higher but you expect that being a small store on Higgins Lake. A lady working there (long blond hair around 60 years old) was very cranky and basically had a "potty mouth." Apparently it was "shopping day" and they were bringing in groceries that they purchased to jack up the price, which is okay. However, her rudeness was incredible and I recommend going to a any other store simply because of the prices and rudeness. Just because you are having a bad day does not give a store worker to take it out on a customer. read more
