I have chartered many boats on Long Island over the years and none of the captains had the determination and willingness to put us on the fish as Captain Nick and his mate Robert. They came prepared with mojo's, plugs, live bait, and clams and after we caught our limit with plenty of throwbacks we steamed off to several of his blackfish honey holes to have the rods bend with some nice togs! Back at the dock Robert fillet and bagged our catch which made for a few very tasty dinners. Speaking with Nick, I found out that he actually won the Hudson Anglers Shark tournament in Freeport one year, so hoping to see him again once the waters warm up to see if we can catch the big one!!

First off John Marino who answer the phone was very rude and unprofessional. I inquired about pricing and he said "Obviously you don't know much about charters" in an impatient and arrogant way. In which I replied "Obviously you dont want my business, with that attitude". He then went on and cursing on the phone. In the info below it said "Beginners Welcome!" well it is not the case. From the very first time I talked to Captain Phil on the phone, he was helpful, kind, and very understanding. We set up the date and time, and he gave us clear directions on Where he is located. It was Anna's sister, anna's sister's son, and myself. We showed up A bit early, And we were able To go out early, instead of having to wait for the scheduled time. Captain Phil took us out to the boat, where we also met his partner, Captain Bob. They explained exactly what was going to be happening And then we headed out We reached the spot right off of Coney Island A few words were said, followed by a small prayer, her ashes were placed into the water, and then afterwards., We sprinkled rose petals into the ocean, we circled the area one time, and that was it. She may no longer physically be with us, but she will be in our hearts forever. Throughout the entire process Captain Phil was kind, caring, and compassionate. He Really made this a special day. Captain Phil arranged a very nice ceremony, finding the perfect spot off of Coney Island to honor my Aunt's last wishes to be laid to rest in a place where she had many wonderful memories. The service on the boat was well organized and Captain Phil handled it with dignity and care. While it is not a day you can prepare for, Captain Phil takes care to arrange a trip that honored my Aunt and her wishes. He arranged to have rose petals to scatter in the ocean after her ashes. He also took care to provide a pleasant boat ride from Canarsie to Coney Island and back.

It turned out to be one of the most lovely summer evenings! Captain Jared and his wonderfully helpful first mate took us on a beautiful trip in Jamaica Bay. We brought food and drinks, which were stored within the vessel, while we sat in the open air. We were able to eat without issue - we brought cheese platters, chips, etc. The boat does have a restroom but no one used it. It was a two hour trip and bay was perfect. The waters were smooth and weather was perfect, I can't think of a better summer adventure. I recommend this highly and I would do it again.

The mates were pretty helpful in putting the bait on the hooks and they measured each catch to see if they were big enough to keep. The only negative I would say is there is no prior instruction on safety, no clue where the life preservers were located and we could barely hear the captain over the PA. And if you get seasick, as a dozen of us did, dramamine doesn't help and 5 hours on the boat is too long!!

We did more looking than we did fishing. The 2 crew members didn't seem to want to be there and didn't help anyone too much. He made certain that we were fed always providing a box of Popeye chicken with biscuits giving us a bottle of water and soda and walking around the boat asking is everyone okay. Fishing buddies of America has seen a lot of members come and a lot of members go. I was very happy to be a part of a fishing trip that took place in North Carolina on a 24-hour fishing vessel where we caught lots of Vermilion snappers the size limit and the limit for two days as well as Grunt and triggerfish. It was my first experience and a great one. It's sad to say though in 2018 Mr Ernest Fernandez passed away. He does have friends of fishing buddies of America who are running their own charters as a matter of fact there is a trip on June 9th the boat is almost full will be a dedication to miss the earnest Fernandez will we will dedicate to the sea memories of mr. Fernandez. I think that is a great way to pay homage to him. We will also fish on this day in memory of mr. Fernandez for one of his favorite fish porgies. I can see the smile on this man face now catching two parties at one time. Nonetheless great man and a great time I had with him fishing with fishing buddies of America tightlines forever mr. My family and I took the 4th of July Fireworks Captree Cruise to Jones Beach Fireworks Show ($65)…read moreon The Island Princess (IP). We purchased our tickets through the website: https://www.islandprincesscaptree.com. The IP is located inside New York's Captree State Park. We put "Island Princess Captree" into Google Maps and it led us straight there. Parking was $8.00 and the parking lot is a good size. The tickets indicated to please arrive at the dock by 6:00pm the latest for check-in and boarding. It was easy to locate the IP and we checked in with a staff member at the bottom of the stairs. The boat left the dock exactly at 6:30pm. About 8:00pm, we anchored and watched the sunset. Till the Grucci Fireworks Show started about 9:30pm, we were able to see fireworks in the distance in all the different towns. The boat tuned into WALK 97.5 FM which simulcasted music during the fireworks presentation. There were music by BTS, Rosé, Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA," and Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA." The Grucci Fireworks Show lasted till about 10:00pm and then the boat headed back to Captree State Park. So many people fell asleep on the way back. Free coffee and other snacks were available for purchase on the boat. My family and I enjoyed the 4th of July Fireworks Captree Cruise to Jones Beach Fireworks Show on the IP. We felt that the other fireworks shows went longer than the Grucci Fireworks Show, but it was still magnificent. It was an event that I've never participated in for the 4th of July, so it was definitely very nice and weather couldn't have been even more perfect. I had a light sweater on when it got a little chilly.

I live here and have been on several different kinds of boats, but Javier's sailing trip is by far…read morethe best experience. I didn't even know you could pay for a private boat in manhattan! We could help as much as we wanted, because Javier took care of everything. We had the boat to ourselves. We were a group of 6 people with plenty of room, so I believe 8 people would also work. Javier let us bring beer and a picnic on, which was especially nice considering he couldn't partake because of strict drinking rules for captains. Overall I'd recommend this trip for groups who want to avoid the tourist masses while enjoying the harbor.

It's obvious that it's not just a hobby for Javier, he has a genuine love for sailing. When I heard he purchased his own sail boat and was offering charters I knew that it was an opportunity I didn't want to miss. I sailed with Javier recently on the Tranquillity and it was a great experience. The boat is beautiful and spacious and it was fun to take the helm. I was able to practice the sailing skills I wanted to refine and still take breaks and just enjoy the trip. I'm looking forward to booking my next trip.
