Then, after you have given them thousands of dollars, they drag their feet and refuse to schedule the job until you jump through additional hoops that were never spoken about prior to the 50% deposit. Even after that, more over-promise and under-deliver. they convinced me to let them install ahead of another yard contractor, saying they would do install the next week if I let them go first, and then backed out on the promised timeframe via text after it was too late to get the other contractor (landscaper) back in time. (and the delay will likely now turn into AT LEAST 2 additional weeks because the following week is now supposed to rain all week. I paid them over a month ago. They answered any questions we had and gave us great advice. The work crew was kind, respectful and hard working. They stayed for 12 hours to complete the project. The fence looks great! I highly recommend Colonial Fence for any fencing needs. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

Fabio responded quickly and professionally when I reached out about a fence estimate. I was hopeful that these qualities would stay true throughout the project, however there was a dramatic shift in his attitude and responsiveness once the contract was signed and the money was handed over. While I appreciate how quickly the (partial) job was done by the team, working with the North Fence proved to be overall a very stressful and disappointing experience. Fabio was hard to reach throughout the duration of the project and broke multiple deadlines he himself set for sending important estimates that affected decisions that needed to be made in regards to the project (as it was happening). This led to parts of our fence being installed incorrectly against our wishes despite my reaching out to him repeatedly to try and get the (past due) estimates. He also repeatedly broke promises that were made before the start of the project. While he did provide a small discount for some of the work that was left incomplete as well as his unprofessional lack of communication, he later used the discount that was provided for one part of the job being left unfinished in order to make excuses and avoid completing other aspects of the project. He even tried making the excuse that "we can always move things when we replace another part of your existing fence" This was quite the statement to hear after our first (and only) experience with him. While all of this was enough to leave a sour taste in our mouths, the true cherry on top was we received a text from Fabio claiming that his team left after they briefly knocked on the door and didn't get an answer so the project was left without doing a final walkthrough. There was no attempt to contact either my husband or I by phone despite this being the primary form of communication throughout the duration of the project. As soon as we received this text, we walked through the "completed" project and sent Fabio a text pointing out multiple tasks that were agreed upon before the signing of the contract that were left unfinished. He said he'd send a tech to address the issues the following day. There was no window of arrival provided and we were never asked to be present for his arrival. I was very surprised and honestly horrified when Fabio felt it was appropriate to give me a call while I was at work to scold us for not being available to do a walkthrough with the tech and how he just "wanted to get it over with" and didn't want to have a "repeat of yesterday". As if it was our fault that his techs did not complete the job or make any attempt to actually reach us while we were available. Overall, I would not recommend this company in any way, shape, or form to anyone who values honesty and professionalism.

You know how the internal conversation goes with yourself; uuggg.... "I have to hire a contractor for XYZ", schedule site visits, get quotes, follow up questions.... by the time you've had 6 companies come to your house, you just want it over with. Last year we started our adventure of getting a new fence installed. I called the "big 2" fence companies in the area (you know who they are). I had to re-read the quotes several times. Simple 6ft vinyl/PVC grey fence with post caps and spring hinged latching gate. I asked "would the fence be gold plated? or does this price include the rest of the neighborhood?" Niether thought I was funny. Late winter this year (2026) we decided to contact medium size/ more local companies. Every estimator we met was personable and knowledgeable. But Fabio from Fence 101 (owner) came prepared with samples, booklets, and the most important thing.... time. He and I walked around my yard, assessed what I had, gave suggestions, showed me options, discussed materials and we talked about family/kids etc. It was like talking to that new person you meet, that you immediately have repour with. He is really a quality gentleman. (I have a Gibbs gut that says so). All the quotes we received this year were within a hundred bucks or so of eachother. Price was not the major factor in our decision to hire F101, but their price the most economical and competitive. The install crew arrived when they were scheduled and worked ALL day; of both two days. They didn't bang out at 2pm like most contractors, these guys were gettin' it done. When I asked them questions about panels, post depth, wind resistance, yadda yadda, they stopped working, took the time to fully answer my queries and were happy to engage. These guys were hard working, strong, accurate and respectful of my small piece of the world. And they were having fun. In two days 95% of the job was complete. The gate and post tops came on a separate order. The gate arrived at Fabio's shop the wrong color. He contacted me right away, and informed me he already had the correct color on order. It was being delivered the next day and would be installed ASAP ... on a SATURDAY! SATURDAY? Really? I was impressed. Fabio himself and (what I believed to be) his lead field person, installed the post caps and gate before I got home from grocery shopping. (my wife being away on a trip) They had it complete by 10:30 AM. Boom! It was done. Seriously 5 stars . When the Queen returned she was blown away! She was stunned as to how awesome it looked. Fence 101 asks for half down deposit, which more than resonible. They have a bunch of colors available with different posts caps and hardware. Materials are USA local NY. Price includes install and material warranty. They also took my 40 year old stockade fence down for recycling. Fabio followed up with us after the job to make sure there were no issues. I'm including some pictures and videos (from my security cameras) of the work; his crew removing the old fence, installing the new, etc. One vid clip is Fabio on the phone with me discussing which way the gate should open/close/swing/latch. And check out his dancing moves! I will be following up with Fence 101 to purchase gate handles, that I forgot to add to the initial install. This was an excellent experience and highly recommend this company for your next fence project.

Although Fence101 were not the cheapest, they stood out the most to me. I've learned the cheapest isn't always the best neither. But he was very reasonable and close in price with the others. What first stood out to me was a minor concern he fixed that I pointed out upon consultation. At this point, I haven't committed to any offer nor was a quote even given at this time. My gate didn't close properly due to the wood deforming overtime and he went and got his tools and willingly realigned the latch with no expectation of pay or business in return. It was cold out at this time too. He left and I got my quote a few days later. Because of his act of kindness, I chose to go with Fence101. He is a busy person and scheduling may not be immediate, but this is to be expected for a company that does good work. After his team came out and completed the work, I had some concerns about workmanship. To others, it may not have been anything, but being the meticulous person that I am, I brought it to his attention. I was easy about it and he could have just given me some lame excuse, but with no hesitation, he offered to replace the whole panel in both areas that they fixed (2 panels). It wasn't necessary at all, but he stood by his company, their work, and showed he truly cares. You can easily tell, Fabio is truly a good and honest person. His workers are also very kind and polite people as well. everything came out great and I'm happy. I would definitely recommend Fence101 to everyone and would certainly consider them again for all my personal and investment properties needs in the future.

They've been serving our local communities for 70 years, and ironically, I found an old flyer in the kitchen drawer recently ~ they were on our radar even before we eventually reached out! (don't wait as long as we did). Everyone has been so friendly and helpful, Nick Roberts, who helped us through the paperwork and obtained the measurements, the scheduling staff in the office, and of course our crew, Gerald and Lucas, who did a beautiful job and went over and above to make sure we were satisfied with the results (I was worried about my many plants being stepped on but they were treated kindly and respectfully). I highly recommend Reliable, the company's pricing is fair and equitable and the follow up calls and emails to make sure we are happy with our new fence have been greatly appreciated. If you're on the fence over installing a new fence, let me tell you, every time I look out back and see how wonderful our shiny new fence looks, I'm positive it's totally worth it. They even work in the Winter months, so you don't have to wait until Spring! Happy Holidays to all and thanks again for a job well done! Lori and Doug McCray Marlborough, MA

This is common in our area right now, so we agreed and decided to start the process. We scheduled an appt and in mid-May Aaron Jenkins came to our property to take measurements. The meeting seemed to go well, the measurements were taken, and Aaron advised he would follow up with us within a week or two tops with a quote/plan. We did not hear from Aaron again. We waited and waited. Finally we contacted the main office for an update. They were shocked that Aaron left us hanging, and advised they would have him call us back ASAP. Well, he didn't. So we had to follow up AGAIN. Today, June 15th, we have received our bid. Aaron absolutely over priced the job with no price break downs. He lists the materials and the amount of material needed with a total price. He does not list the cost of these materials. $22,900+!!!!! IS ABSOLUTELY outrageous! I know previous reviews state that you get what you pay for but no honey, just no. This is completely inappropriate and I feel like you completely inflated the bill just because you didn't want to do YOUR job and provide us a quote. We will DEFINITELY be taking our business elsewhere. I am so disappointed we have waisted so much time on you.

We hired Powell to paint the exterior of our home and their carpentry services to replace several rotted window frames for a three story house. Andre stopped by to perform the initial exam and was very thorough and knowledgeable on the work that needed to be done. Unlike other painters I contacted, the Powell team was easy to contact and actually showed up on time for the scheduled time slot. Their quote for the project came in right around the same as other quotes we received, and it was well worth the cost. I can't praise the level of service you get with Powell. Stephanie, who handles scheduling and billing, was on top of communications so that I didn't have to worry about anything. Even the owner, Bryan, stopped by at the beginning to inspect a few leaks we had in our ceiling to help us determine whether there were other issues beyond repairing the rotted windows for us to consider. They will even bring out the drone for inspection if you have a tall home. As additional rotted windows were discovered during the power washing, work orders to add additional work was clear and simple. Once the work actually began, it went so smoothly. Andre stopped by every morning and afternoon to check in and update us. Our crew, Thiago and Breno, were incredibly hard workers. They were at our home by 7:30 am every morning despite the terrible traffic and often worked past 7 pm even during a heat wave. The guys were experts on the ladders despite having a few high, tricky spots to get to. The worksite was clean after each day which I was grateful for as we have a toddler running around. The entire project took 10 days. While it moved fast, it didn't feel rushed and no corners were cut to finish quickly. They even paused the project for 2 days because of rain so that we didn't run the risk of streaky paint. After the work was completed, they insisted on us contacting them if we weren't satisfied with any part of the project. Our home looks completely transformed and brand new. I cannot recommend Powell Painting enough for a stress free and professionally done project.

Working with Powell has been one of the best experiences I have had as a new homeowner…read more I reached out to Powell to see if they would be willing to paint the basement room in the townhouse that serves as my movie room\home office. The color that the prior owners picked while nice was a bit too dark for such a small room. They responded to my inquiry the same day and arranged a date and time to stop by and look at the room. Bryan and Andre arrived exactly on time and took a look at the room. Super friendly, patient, and willing to address any questions and concerns. As part of the renovation of the room, I was planning on replacing the carpet and asked him if I should do it before painting the room or after. He strongly suggested to replace the carpet first since the installers tend to scuff the baseboards terribly as they are ripping the old carpet out. I followed his advice and did the carpet first and sure enough the baseboards were in such bad shape after that had I painted I would have had to repaint them. I'm so thankful for that. On the day of the job, Bryan and Andre introduced me to Freddie who would be painting the room for me. Super friendly, professional, and honest. After grabbing the paint, he laid down tarp to cover the brand new carpet and got to work on the walls. It's amazing how quickly he was able to paint this room. It felt as if every move was calculated. What's more impressive is that he conversed with me the entire time! During the end of day 1, Freddie called me over and informed me that the two coats of paint that the quoted me for the job would not be sufficient for cover the walls and they will need to grab another can of paint. I asked him how much extra would I need to pay on top of the quote and said nothing. They told me it would take two coats, it didn't, so it was on them to make it right. Freddie told me he already informed Bryan and he would stop by the paint store tomorrow to grab another can of paint on their dime. I wasn't expecting that at all but greatly appreciated it. In the early afternoon of the second day the room was done. I thanked Freddie and waited for the paint to dry before heading down to plan out moving furniture back in. It was then that I noticed that there were some areas in the room that we not completely covered. I reached out to Stephanie and she called back soon after and told me that Freddie would be stopping by again later the SAME day to take a look. True to their word, Freddie stopped by and took a look at the walls now that they were dry and he confirmed the coverage issues. He grabbed paint and did another pass on the walls which removed the old color. After Freddie departed I started to notice that that wall color is much much warmer that I expected. I tried various color temps on the lights to no effect. I took a look at the sample patch in the other room and confirmed that it looked very different and that maybe I might have made an expensive mistake with the paint choice for this room. On a whim I took a few pics and emailed Stephanie with my concerns. I figured at this point they'll I'm crazy and I didn't expect to hear back. After all, I chose the paint color, they painted the room perfectly, their task is done. An hour after I send the email I get a call, it was Bryan. He looked at the photos, and saw the same thing that I have seen, and he and Stephanie have been trying to figure out the root cause. It turned out that there was some miscommunication and an incorrect shade of white was used on the doors and trim causing white walls to become warmer than they should. He apologized and asked to send a couple of painters the following day with the correct paint to address. I already felt bad about Freddie having to come back so I told Bryan not to rush but he insisted. He knew I took the week off to clear out the room to get it painted, and he wanted to get the job done so I have the weekend to put everything back together so I can work on Monday. 7am the following morning Andre and another painter arrived with the correct paint and took a little over an hour to repaint the doors and trim. As soon as I stepped into the room the walls immediately cooled down. And the state of the brand-new carpet after they were done? Spotless. I love the room now. Snow like color make the room feel bigger and more comfortable. It's easily my favorite place in the house. If you're looking for painting service for your home and are within the service area don't bother looking anywhere else. It's not just the quality of their work (which is outstanding), it's their level of accountability. They will do everything to ensure that the job is done and that you are happy. They came back to my home at two separate occasions to complete one room and I didn't pay a penny more than what was initially quoted to me. I cannot recommend Powell enough and can't wait until I can get them to paint other areas of the home.
