ALTERNATOR LEFT ME NO ALTERNATIVE I was on my way back home to WA on my road trip to Arizona on May 16, 2023, when the battery light came on in my truck. So I asked Siri on my iPhone to take me to the nearest Ford dealer. She took me to Goode Ford in Burley ID. Nick was my advisor. This was about in the middle of the day. Turns out I needed a new alternator, which was no surprise. I also had them replace the serpentine belt. They were able to complete the job on such short notice by the end of the day, though not with original Ford parts. But Nick did advise me of this and I did OK the use of aftermarket parts. AFTER 1 1/2 YEARS, AFTERMARKET ALTERNATOR + SERPENTINE S'ALLRIGH' The final bill was $943.53(BTW, they accept credit cards, but not MobilePay) as Nick told me that it was difficult to get underneath there to remove the old alternator and put the new one in. I felt OK about it, especially since I consulted a mechanically inclined friend of mine on my phone while in the waiting room. I'm sure an independent mechanic would not have charged as much. But then if my replacement alternator were to go out, I could take it to my nearest Ford dealer to get it corrected, instead of having to go all the way back to Burley Idaho. MY "TRUST ISSUE" A BUST? OR JUST? While we were talking about the final estimate of repairs, and while they were still working on my truck, I politely mentioned to the effect that I was from out of state and therefore was at their mercy re: final cost, as I was not yet comfortable with their final cost estimate. Nick politely replied that I have "trust issues," despite my mentioning that I was from out of state. This left a little something to be desired. Instead, a statement of understanding my out-of-state situation and an attempt at words that would comfortably justify the final cost in my mind would have been in order. I say this especially since I later noticed after I got it back, that the receipt showed there was road test mileage, even though the vehicle actually had fewer miles on it after I got it back than what was recorded on the "mileage out" on the receipt! (see photo) I did not however bring this up to Nick after the fact, but instead just assumed that they estimated it and went on my way. NO ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE NECESSARY SINCE NEW ALTERNATOR STILL OK Nevertheless, because of Nick's calm carriage, (vs a demonic demeanor) and because they were able to get my vehicle out that day, and because a year and a half later, all is well with the replacement parts. I'd give this place 3 1/2 stars if I could, and would take it there again if I had to do it over again. read more

Avoid Goode Motors in Burley - Dishonest & Deceitful on My Idaho-to-Nevada 2018 F-150 Limited I bought a 2018 Ford F-150 Limited (109k+ miles) from Goode Motor Ford in July 2025 for delivery to Nevada. Sold as-is with only a 3-month/3k-mile goodwill warranty. They completely screwed up the titling process on this cross-state purchase, causing major delays in legally driving the vehicle. I had to get the Nevada temporary permit myself. They admitted they don't respond to the state's requests until the customer complains. Communication was terrible -- they didn't help at all and rarely responded in a timely manner. In October 2025 (while goodwill coverage was active), I reported cold-start/power loss and downshifting after putting on only about 300 miles. They dismissed it as "how all Fords run" and did nothing. The transmission failed completely shortly after. They offered only $1,000 goodwill but demanded I sign a full release. I refused! Strong Warning: Do NOT buy from Goode Motors. They are dishonest and deceitful. They botch paperwork on out-of-state deals, provide terrible communication, dismiss real mechanical issues, and offer almost nothing when big problems arise. Their shop is backed up by weeks but they made a hole, plodding the computer, and installed several software updates. Was traveling along I-84 when our oil light abruptly came on and pressure dropped to zero. We put in a quart of oil and found our way to the Goode Ford Dealership Although we were 8 hours from our destination, Nick was the first person we talked to. He welcomed us and put us at ease. He was professional and personable. The sevice department got us right in. While waiting, we were offered cookies and coffee. Apparently, there was a hole in our oil filter! What are the odds? This dealership seemed very family oriented. Nick even introduced us to most of the crew up front. Oil had sprayed the pickup on the tailgate and door panels, and they even washed it for us! Great staff, service and atmosphere. As a traveler, if one has to break down, this is the place to do it. read more

My 83 year old mother walked in with a newspaper ad that said you could win a prize, they sat her down at a table to "sign a paper and wait for the prize, which took them forever" and then she gets talked into buying a used car for a new car price and gave her too little for her old car. Bought a 2104 Outback from Goode in Burley, was told the service department had gone over the car and there were no problems. I work seasonally at Yellowstone, the car started jerking and shuddering on the way back to the park. Check engine light went on the next day. A mechanic at the Yellowstone garage checked it out, informed me that the rear wheels are not getting power, the AWD vehicle is functioning as front wheel drive only, so serious drive train issues, rear wheel bearings are shot, and cylinder one was misfiring. The Subaru dealer in Bozeman confirmed the issues, and estimated $3,000 in repairs, also warning me that the car will probably need a transmission soon. General Manager Graydon Funk offered to rebate $1,500, now he won't return phone calls or emails. Worst experience with a business of my life, and I'm 65. read more

After getting lots of recalls done w/ our 2022 F-150 (including one with the windshield wipers), a few weeks later our junction box to the wiper relay wasn't working. Our wipers were working perfectly fine until they messed with the recalls. I went in for a scheduled service on Mon. thinking it would take an hour or so to fix & after 3.5 hours of waiting for an update, they told me the vehicle was not safe to drive. I have kids so I needed a vehicle in the meantime since the technician told me the part would take 3-5 business days to get it from Texas. I felt like I had to beg for a loaner car and when they finally gave me a loaner car an hour later, it was the crappiest car with damage to the front bumper. Since that Mon. appt I waited the 3-5 business days & then called since I had no update on the truck. They told me on Thurs. that it would be done tomorrow on Fri. Fri. comes, and still no update. I end up waiting another week & finally call the following Thurs. & they tell me that the vehicle will be ready that night. I understand that parts take time to arrive and to install, but at least give me an update. Super unprofessional. read more

I left a message after hours late Saturday night and was called back early on Sunday morning by one of the Internet sales managers Tyler Howard. Tyler was very helpful in getting me the pictures I needed, answering my questions and helping me get the ball rolling on the purchase with minimal time on the phone and emails. Sent an online inquiry about a truck and was contacted by a salesman at Goode. They had what I wanted on the way and I gave him info and pictures of my trade in. Over a week goes by expecting to hear about my trade in value and the final price of the new truck so I call and leave a message. Again, over a week goes by then I get an email from the sales manager asking if I had been contacted by his salesman and if he answered all my questions etc. I responded by saying no and that I had left messages over a week ago. A few days go by and no response from the sales manager. I suppose my concerns are only legit if I was still buying from them. I'll pay more for good customer service and despite Goode being recommended I will never buy from them. I have 5 Fords and am looking for 2 more right now. Too bad for them. read more

I wish I could give this review more than 5 stars. Driving through Idaho on a long trip back home, we stopped at a local Loves gas station. Finished up and started the cars to leave and my moms Ford Edge wouldn't stay running. Called a place nearby, and they came to look at the vehicle. The mechanic recommended Goode which thankfully was only a few minutes down the road. It was already late and they close at 7:00. We were worried we wouldn't have enough time to fix the situation. Got to the dealership. Greeted by amazing and friendly staff who got us right in. Devin worked hard on the car trying to find the problem. He went above and beyond and stayed late to accommodate. Wouldn't accept a cash tip, which is astounding! Devin we hope you realize how much of a blessing you were to our family. We made it home ok and mom hasn't had any problems with the vehicle! Update: I have had the car for two weeks and driven it less than 500 miles. Yesterday the engine began to knock real bad. Towed it to a shop and the engine is blown. They found tons of metal in the oil filter, now I know that Goode doe';s not make the car and it is used but this just adds to the nightmare in dealing with them and the $3500 bill to replace the engine. Again this has been the worst possible buying experience and would recommend running away from this place as fast as possible and buying elsewhere. read more

I took my car in to goody motors because I was having a problem with my gas gauge not registering correctly and after that my battery kept dying so I took it over there to them I took it in on a Wednesday the next day the guy called me and said well our technician can't get to your car until Monday so they kept it till Monday I was patient I thought why want to make sure they do a good job then he proceeds to text me on Monday and telling me a few things that need to be done and I said can you please call me. He calls me and basically gives me an estimate of at least $2000 if not more for a new battery a couple of belts and a tuneup and he also said that my rim was bent which I find that hard to believe because I had just got brand new tires the month previous and I think that commercial tire would've sold me a new rim if I needed one. So when he called me that much I knew I did not have that much to put into my car at that moment so I went and picked it up took it to a different mechanic since then I had had my car fixed fully total tuneup everything replaced and I was only charged a little over $1000 and that's including a brand new alternator which is what was draining my battery to begin with. come to find out the reason my battery kept getting drained was the alternator was bad and that was not even something that they had told me was wrong they didn't even bother to check it to be honest I don't even think they open the hood. Then I decided to call the manager and let them know what their guys were doing to their clients and I left her a message of course no reply I called that just now And was trying to explain to her what exactly had happened and she said well I trust him explicitly So what would you like from me in a very rural town and I said well I just wanna let you know that your guys are trying to rip people off and not even putting the thought into the problems that the car was actually brought there for because he didn't even address the reason why brought the car there he just wanted to upsell me on everything else and she said have a nice day thank you and hung up on me in a very rude town so if you're planning on going to them to have any car service done I really honestly suggest that you don't because all you're gonna do is get screwed and spent a lot of money for nothing. read more

It appears to be a great dealership at a glance but there service center overlooks needed repairs on vehicles and they add fees into the loan to mark up there low priced vehicles. Service Department is top of the line! I was on a multiple state road trip and my Ford Edge started having problems. I googled the closest Ford Dealer to me and it turned out to be Goode Motor Ford. I am soo happy it was! I was able to get the car to a rest area and then made the call. I got to speak with Nick in the Service Dept and explain where I was. He got a tow truck to me and the car towed the shop! He immediately got the car into the shop and had a Service Tech diagnose it. The waiting area is super clean and pleasant. All the people that work there seemed really happy to be there and upbeat which in my circumstances was what I needed. Car troubles on a road trip can be very stressful! Nick was able find out what the problem was and source the part I would need for me. It would be coming in the next morning. That meant I was staying the night and again Nick was able to recommend a great hotel AND had their shuttle service take me there. Alex was the driver and he did great, got me to front door and also had a restaurant recommendation. The next morning I got a call that the car was done and ready.... about 2 hours sooner that we were expecting! Alex picked me up and took me back. I was back on the road and made it back home with no more problems. If I lived in the area I would use this Service Dept every time. I purchased a 2016 ford f 250 diesel with 40,000 mi. a truck with that many miles on it shouldn't have a problem,I had the truck for 15 days when i found out it had this problem, in my opinion they knew the truck needed the smog device on the tail pipe repaired , I had purchased another car from them & was treated fairly, I will never go to this dealer again. It will cost me $2600.00 to have this truck repaired: THE saying goes Buyer Be Ware At this Dealer. Do not buy from this dealership, you have been warned! I recently attempted to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. I have been in constant conversation (nearly 20 emails) with a salesman from 8/8/2020 until an hour or so ago when I received an email telling me the vehicle sold last night - right out from under me. I received no call or email until hours after it had sold. I already had financing, rearranged my schedule with my work and family to be there to purchase the vehicle first thing Monday 8/17/2020. This was no easy task as I live 3 hours away in another state and lead a very busy life. I emailed the salesman back and I was told we didn't have a deal because I put no deposit down. I didn't know I was supposed to and was never asked to do so. This whole ordeal could have been avoided if I was given this simple information, but I wasn't. I had also been waiting on a purchase agreement, which the salesmans manager was supposed to email me, but that never happened. This type of business experience is easily avoidable, just don't do business here. It is obvious that there's a huge breakdown in communication amongst the management and salesmen and they would rather move a car a few days earlier than hold true to a deal that was made. This is bad business, plain and simple. Choose to spend your hard earned money, time and effort at a company who values it. Hope this helps someone else. read more

Traveling in our Class A RV, we were sent to Goode by another Ford dealer to repair our dash AC (Ford F53 Chassis). Everyone was extremely helpful, polite and they took the unit in for service very quickly. We were initially thrilled. However, after 3 or 4 hours of waiting, we were told it required the AC to be charged. Our reaction was OK, but why? Was there a leak, did they put dye into the system and try to find where it had leaked from? Yes, they said they put dye in but could not find anything wrong. We were charged $350. The AC worked for about 3 or 4 days, but by the time we had driven south to Moab, Utah, it no longer got cold enough to cool the front of the unit. Needless to say we were extremely frustrated. Upon returning back to Michigan, we eventually took the unit to our local Ford dealer. After again putting dye into the system, they did not find a leak. But the technician noted there was a part that controlled the thermostat that was known to fail. He recommended replacing this part (which was not terribly expensive). It was very accessible, so labor was minimal. We agreed; they ordered the part; installed it; immediately achieved a significantly cooler airflow. All this work cost us approximately another $800. But it is fixed. I wrote Goode and related our experience to them. I asked for some mitigation for the service they provided as I felt it should be warranted due to how quickly the system failed. They did not even have the courtesy to contact me or respond to my written (snail mail) request. This bothered me more than anything else. As a Ford retiree, I was embarrassed at how this dealer treated a customer--me! They did not really fix the problem but charged me $350! I felt cheated and any other customer would too. I cannot recommend this dealer for this type of service. Shame on them for not thoroughly investigating the problem and sending us off without any recourse. Compared to our experience at other Ford dealers, their efforts were half-baked and ineffective! read more

Goode Motor Ford was amazing in helping us. We had our mustang at the Ford dealership in Twin Falls for one month and one week after metal flakes were found in the oil when we had our oil changed, we couldn't get the help We needed in Twin so we called up Goode and they were more then happy to help where Middlekauf had fallen short. We had a great extended warranty that was paying for all the work and once we had it towed to Goode they had done what they needed to get the ball rolling the very next day. It was a big job and they handled not only everything that needed to be done, but they were curtious and took all of our phone calls, wanting updates, with grace and kindness. Mel and Nick in the service department were also amazing when it was time to pick up the car, they let us pick it up after hours due to our crazy work schedules. This car means a lot to my husband and they treated it and us like we were a priority 100% of the time. read more
