Before that time, I was a patient of a large medical practice in Issaquah for over a decade. I've always tried to eat well and stay fit through exercise. So it has been frustrating that the story I've received every year at my annual checkup from my primary care physician at this large medical practice is the same: some of your biomarkers are higher than ideal and we'll just watch them. No further investigation, no analysis of underlying causes, no next steps at all. After I saw Dr Woodall, I learned for the first time that there were steps that I could take to address the underlying causes of my high biomarkers. The steps that I have taken include both medicines as well as nutritional supplements based on scientific knowledge and lab testing of vitamins and nutrients my body is not absorbing well. And I'm confident that the steps that I have taken will help me stay fit, active, and healthy as I move into an older stage of life. The doctors of the practice take a holistic approach seeking the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms as seems to be the norm for many medical practices these days due. Once my doctor retired they wanted to send me to three or four doctors to get the same meds I have been taking since 2007. To make it worse, I tried to get an appointment with an Overlake general practitioner for four months and have been waiting. Not to mention the other doctors they want to book me with for existing and long term meds with no intervening issues. I am convinced that this clinic is operated in a rigid and very non-holistic way, asking you to see a different doctor on different days IF you can get an appointment without waiting months, in order to bill as much different services as possible. I have literally been out of prescribed medication for two months and they refuse to refill even though I have been available to see the new doctor the entire time. The bureaucracy here is like nothing I have dealt with and l've used some of the best practitioners in the country, including in Los Angeles where everything was managed in a seamless holistic way with one provider who was there to deal with the ongoing and normal needs of the patient unless a bee issue arise and you need referral. Overlake is a big business with big bills and a big bureaucracy that will try to send you to four doctors for four medications (if you can get an appointment) even though you're medical history has not changed and your condition is perfectly stable. When I advised them I as having bad side effects from abruptly stopping a medication due to doctor retirement the reply was sorry you have to see try new doctor even though I can't get an appointment for months. Imagine seeking an appointment in February and being told we can see you in May. Stay away. Don't forget these are the corporate vultures who were in a scandal during Covid when they provided scarce Covid vaccines to their rich Bellevue donors. That's how they operate.

Both visits to Dr. Gorman were to remove skin cancer, one area on my head and one area on my chest. To this day I can not find the area where she operated on my head (i.e. no scar but I know there were 20+ stitches). This time Dr. Gorman removed the skin cancer, stitched up my chest and specifically told me to come back for a follow up appointment "a week from Thursday", which was approx. two weeks later. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early and was the only patient in the waiting room. Eventually other patients came and were taken back before me. Fifteen minutes past my appointment time I was taken back to a room where I sat alone for an hour. I should have left. Finally I was seen by some other physician and was told that Dr. Gorman is never in the Bellevue office on Thursdays. Why then did she tell me to come back on Thursday, so she could remove the stitches? Why did her staff schedule me to come on Thursday without telling me that Dr. Gorman will not even be there? Dr. Gorman has a policy for patients who don't show up for their appointment, stating a $50 fee will be charged if you don't show up for your appointment. I'm thinking she owes me $50 - never mind the fact that I had to wait an hour past my scheduled appointment time to be seen by a stranger. I'm having an issue with the incision site and feel like I simply am not important enough to be taken care of. I assure you that I will be billed for having been seen by "Dr. I have no clue what her name is" and leaving the office definitely with unresolved issues. I knew I should have just walked out. Now I guess I need to find a doctor who will give me an explanation of what is going on and take care of my incision site problem. All that to say - in the past Dr. Gorman's skill as a MOHS Surgeon was impressive but a patient should never experience such absentee aftercare.
