As a patient, one of the most challenging aspects in assessing a physician is the assessing their actual medical acumen Dr. Goode has excellent medical acumen, and his attention to detail is second to none. As an example of Dr. Goode's attention to detail- it's fairly common for him to call me after I've seen a patient because he wants to clarify a detail from my consult note. That is very unusual amongst PCPs, but it shows that he reads every note, and cares enough to make sure he understands the details Dr. Goode is also pro-active, trying to address his issues before they get out of control, rather than being merely reactive. But being prompted that way by the receptionist makes me think that is not a good idea. Recommendation. If the person is calling a doctor, the interest is in receiving health care. As they had an opening, I was almost immediately accepted into the private room. Facilities are clean, welcoming and efficient, albeit a bit small, but that is probably a plus. Quieting and comfortable. Dr Julie Duncan is very good, very professional and thorough. Open minded as well, to inquire and discuss anything. Very pleased. I would also mention the electronic system they used (MyChart) is quire convenient. Worked wonderful so far, and Dr Duncan is exceedingly efficient posting notes for me to check up the same day. Before that time, I was a patient of a large medical practice in Issaquah for over a decade. I've always tried to eat well and stay fit through exercise. So it has been frustrating that the story I've received every year at my annual checkup from my primary care physician at this large medical practice is the same: some of your biomarkers are higher than ideal and we'll just watch them. No further investigation, no analysis of underlying causes, no next steps at all. After I saw Dr Woodall, I learned for the first time that there were steps that I could take to address the underlying causes of my high biomarkers. The steps that I have taken include both medicines as well as nutritional supplements based on scientific knowledge and lab testing of vitamins and nutrients my body is not absorbing well. And I'm confident that the steps that I have taken will help me stay fit, active, and healthy as I move into an older stage of life. The doctors of the practice take a holistic approach seeking the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms as seems to be the norm for many medical practices these days due. Dr. Gorman's ability as a MOHS Surgeon is fantastic. I was referred to her by my dermatologist…read morecouple years ago and was so pleased with the outcome of the surgery that I requested to be referred specifically to her again. Both visits to Dr. Gorman were to remove skin cancer, one area on my head and one area on my chest. To this day I can not find the area where she operated on my head (i.e. no scar but I know there were 20+ stitches). This time Dr. Gorman removed the skin cancer, stitched up my chest and specifically told me to come back for a follow up appointment "a week from Thursday", which was approx. two weeks later. I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early and was the only patient in the waiting room. Eventually other patients came and were taken back before me. Fifteen minutes past my appointment time I was taken back to a room where I sat alone for an hour. I should have left. Finally I was seen by some other physician and was told that Dr. Gorman is never in the Bellevue office on Thursdays. Why then did she tell me to come back on Thursday, so she could remove the stitches? Why did her staff schedule me to come on Thursday without telling me that Dr. Gorman will not even be there? Dr. Gorman has a policy for patients who don't show up for their appointment, stating a $50 fee will be charged if you don't show up for your appointment. I'm thinking she owes me $50 - never mind the fact that I had to wait an hour past my scheduled appointment time to be seen by a stranger. I'm having an issue with the incision site and feel like I simply am not important enough to be taken care of. I assure you that I will be billed for having been seen by "Dr. I have no clue what her name is" and leaving the office definitely with unresolved issues. I knew I should have just walked out. Now I guess I need to find a doctor who will give me an explanation of what is going on and take care of my incision site problem. All that to say - in the past Dr. Gorman's skill as a MOHS Surgeon was impressive but a patient should never experience such absentee aftercare.
