Listen up! 1st -- cigars are expensive in canada due being heavily taxed. No shop can control the tax. 2nd This seems to make overall selection on the smaller side. Inventory is expensive and cigars must be properly kept and maintained. An experienced cigar smoker understands this and the avg price of a good cigar. An inexperienced person complains and gives 1 star reviews. If you're looking for an inexpensive smoke, your selection is going to be incredibly limited. That's not the stores fault. They're specialists. Experienced clients have high expectations for quality and this store has met all of mine. I was thoroughly satisfied with the guy who helped me. He exceeded my expectations and i left with 4 cigars $140. I bought on the higher side because i know what i like. The price is what i expected for being in Canada, so write Trudeau about truly opening up free trade when it comes to tobacco and alcohol and please keep your ratings honest and realistic with your knowledge base of cigar smoking. Goodfellas Cigar Shop - Wrappers and caps perfect condition - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Victoria, British Columbia

This is the orignal location and I've been shopping at both for a long time.Their downtown location is larger but this location still has some of the original intimate ambience. Its a cool hole-in-the-wall location where you can sit outside under cover and enjoy your 'gar. The staff are great at both places. If you visit this location, then you absolutely have to visit their downtown location for the full experience. These guys are straight up and offer the best value and selection in town - what more could you possibly ask for? read more

This is a small shop in a good location. I went to both this shop and Morris - and ended up shopping at Morris which had a much bigger selection and is a much nicer shop. However, the staff was quite helpful here. read more

Horrible service and a mediocre selection. I was really looking forward to my visit to this store but the owner, of all people, offered little to no service and really seemed disinterested in assisting me. Cuban Cigar Store on Fort St was the exact opposite. They're a little further away from downtown but an easy walk. Go there... stay away from Goodfellas. read more

Goodfellas Cigar Shop has two store fronts and I have to say, the Store Street shop is much nicer than this particular shop on Glanford Avenue. It's a small location and I therefore understand the limited selection, more on that later. (Will you ever with the amount of variety out there?) Never the less, the staff has always been knowledgeable and for all the times that I've been there, they have never pushed me into buying anything. If anything, I'll find myself in friendly conversation with one of the staff members talking about either cigars (no way!) or whatever comes up. As a local I have found this to be apparent compared to other cigar stores. Old Morris as mentioned earlier in another review is indeed an impressive store front but for atmosphere, non-phony staff (commission) and selection, I personally keep returning to Goodfellas ... the down town location that is! Alright, continuing on about the limited selection. I consider the Glanford store a 'pick-up and go' type shop. So if that's what you're after then that's great. If you're not from around and you do have some spare time, I highly, highly recommend visiting their down town location as you can't compare the two stores. I was looking for a good shop to buy cigars to hand out for the up coming birth of my second child, after being not terribly prepared in the cigar department for my first, I was trying to be more on the ball for this one, I'm not from victoria, so I did some research and decided to go to goodfellas to buy my cigars, what a disappointment, the clerk was a pompous smart ass, I told him the circumstances of my situation and price point, he pulled out one cigar, informed me he was an expert and told me to buy it, no product information no other suggestions, just buy this one, so not being to happy I pried out some information on some other cigars and bought different ones I felt were more suited to me, at the end of the transaction he didn't wish me good luck or congratulations, just a dry, obligatory thanks as we walked out the door, all around a bad experience, don't shop there unless your an expert and need no help read more

I stop by Goodfellas whenever I' need a gift for my grandpa, I'm going to a wedding, or I just want a special smoke. the staff here are really knowledgeable about cigars, pipes and tobacco products, and the owner, Luigi, really is a good fella! They don't have as many cigars as Morris, its true, but that's because Luigi is selective about which cigars he chooses. I know I always get the right thing when I shop here read more

Goodfellas has good prices and I really like their house blend pipe tobaccos. If you want good tobacco at a good price, you can't go wrong. The only complaint I have about the Glanford store is that it is laid out kind of strange, and is really small and cramped. The downtown store is much better for browsing around and it appears to have more selection. read more
