This location is conveniently located between Calgary trail and gateway blvd near the Walmart and H-Mart there in the Southpark shopping centre. This location has some great features, wide open spaces, tons of machines, great free weights section, several squat racks and 2 smith machines as well. It also feature a ladies only workout area with many cardio machines, several isolated weight machines, cable machine, squat rack, and stretching mat. Every time I come here one of the staff members is always cleaning. I feel they are trying their best to keep up with the cleaning, refilling paper towels and cleaning spray / hand sanitizer. I wish they would have wipes to use instead of spray and paper towels as I don't think having everyone touch the same spray bottle is really great unless they're cleaning those bottles consistently. This GoodLife also has group fitness and open studio time. They have the hot yoga room as well where you can go stretch and do your own self guided flow or join a class and have a good stretch. They offer tanning at this location as well and have a sauna / steam room in the showers area. Overall, the staff here are super friendly and really helpful. I've had great experiences here. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a 24 hour gym option. read more

And I will be expecting my money back. I didn't pay for a membership to be turned away. Stopped at this location for a workout while on a work trip in the Edmonton area. The staff were very nice, the location had ample amount of space, exercise equipments and variations of machines. Had a great workout, the area gets very busy during, supper hours and into the night. Might have to check for a less busy time, if your an antisocial land-moth. My teenager son want to join a member and I sign up for basics membership for $31 per 2 weeks and paid$100 facility fee( whatever they call) but it's hard to book a time online ahead and worry about covid. So I call them and ask cancel. Staff told me need 15 days notice and I have to pay another $31. But somehow they charge me $49. Idk what they charge me extra?!?! And If he want to be come member, he have to pay $100 again. When I sign up the member, staff told me very easy to cancel or change the plan on the phone. Like he sign up for any location for $31But want to change one location for$ 24. But have to go and sign up again. We paid $225 for 5 workouts. That's expensive workout!!! Possibly the WORST head trainer out there. Absolutely horrific customer service. I have never met someone so pushy and manipulative. All this club cares about is selling you on training sessions but when it comes down to your trainer cancelling on you they will not refund your money. You pay upfront rather than per session which is unlike most high end clubs - then again their trainers are pretty unreliable so that must be the only way they get money. The equipment here is falling apart, and the gym looks to be in total disrepair. I would highly recommend avoiding this gym and taking your business elsewhere where you will get better customer service, better equipment and a much better experience. Don't get conned by this gym. Update: this company is such a scam they ask you to direct message them to try to find a solution however do not have a link in order to do so. After calling AGAIN to get in touch with Michael he still has yet to provide me with the information that I requested and is very clearly avoiding the situation. read more

I seem to be on a goodlife yelping spree but oh well. At least it gives me an accurate way of comparing the different goodlife fitness centres I get to visit. Stopped in at this goodlife for a quick cardio session prior to my massage. I thought it was gonna be super busy cause it's on Calgary Trail and would get a lot of the after work on my way home rush but it wasn't too bad. Actually when I got there around 5pm, it was still pretty empty. Definitely fuller by the time I left. Change rooms were standard, although I did find myself thinking the lockers were weird. The top locker seemed exceptionally tall - like I would never be able to hang something on the hooks in it. Cardio section was also pretty standard. There was a good variety of cardio machines and it wasn't very full. I didn't do any weights so I can't really attest to what the weight area was like, although from my quick walk around it seemed a little small and squishy. I should probably also make note that since I frequent the brewery goodlife, most other goodlifes seem small to me. There, additionally, was a women's only training area just straight passed the cardio section so I also took a peek in there. Unfortunately, I really wasn't very impressed. I supposed that if you're a female and you just want to go to the gym to do some cardio and super light accessories or if you are just starting your fitness journey and feel intimidated in the co-ed weight room then maybe it isn't that bad but I would never train in that room. Half the room is cardio machines, followed by two small rows of isolated machines, there are 2 cable machines in the corner, one bench (from what I noticed) and one squat rack. Dumbbells only went up to 30lbs. Overall, I would use this goodlife if I was ever in the south and needed to do a quick workout but it would never become my primary gym. read more

Careful of this place. First of all, the owner (her name is Amy) called me incessantly when I said she was interested. When I finally visited, she basically didn't let me speak and up sold me hard. Tried to force me into a contract right there. She wanted me to log onto my bank website so she could write down my account number. We signed a contract and I gave her my information and paid the $225 start-up fee. Three days later she called my emergency contact because my bank info wasn't working. Why they were trying to access it so soon, I don't know. My mother was furious as they interrupted her work day and she assumed it really was an emergency, and I was in class so I wasn't reachable. When I told Amy I was cancelling my contract as per the Alberta 10 days buyer remorse law, she showed me a contract where she forged the start date. Fortunately I had paid on Visa and had the statements and my own copy of the contract to prove that she was lying. I contacted head office and they refunded me. I had initially approached Amy hoping to discuss the issue of her contacting my mother unnecessarily and she became aggressive immediately. Bring your business to honest owners, not someone like this. The City runs far better gyms and even Snap Fitness or LA Fitness runs circles around this place. Also, their book is garbage. read more

I have a rigid workout schedule at Goodlife. I joined last summer and have been hooked on spin and pump classes ever since. It is affordable, close to home and I have several workout buddies now. There is a lot of equipment and a ladies work out room which is very relaxing and somewhat cleaner than the public area. However, obtaining a gym membership here has its definite downsides. Parking is notorious because it is connected to a strip mall. Several gym buddies have had their cars dinged or hit from careless drivers. There is always a scramble for limited parking spots. Recent Resolutions People have also crowded several classes, so if you plan to attend a fitness class my advice is get there at least 15 minutes early. Locker rooms are busy (theft is popular right now) and you want to make sure you go to the gym for its purpose! The boot racks are also overflowing so unless you wear mucky shoes to the gym I wouldn't leave them unattended. If you go for a workout you might end up with a headache when you come back and your stuff is missing. Get a lock! The staff aren't entirely knowledgeable. I have called on different occasions during holidays to ask for the operating hours or class changes and have been answered with several "I don't knows." read more

I would advise anyone considering joining up at Goodlife in South Edmonton to hold off. I am currently a member there due to a contract. They encouraged people to transfer from World Health on the grounds that some of world health's machines were older and everything at Goodlife is new. This was true. However as they have been open for sometime their machines are starting to break and it takes them a long time to fix them even simple little things. They have ONE water fountain in the whole gym which is BROKEN and has been for OVER A WEEK with no signs of it being repaired anytime soon. Really how long does it take to fix their only water fountain??? They have multiple machines that are missing pins or are broken due to everyone using them the most and now these machines are broken they still haven't been fixed for over a week. They really need to focus more on their maintenance before anything else . read more

I have been going to this gym for a month. So far, I am loving the experience. The gym itself is quite clean with newer equipments. The change room is one of the best, with plenty of mirros, large locker space. the classes are great as well. it change up my routine a little. the Spin class instructor was one of the best one I've experience. it's a one big floor plan which is easy to navigate and find things. The front desk staff (most of them) are friendly and helpful. cardio machine is plentifull and you never have to wait for anything. there is also a very good veriety of them. Membership price is reasonable, only $50+ per month. I am not giving it more stars because there are a few drawbacks - there is only ONE water fountain in the whole entire gym? only offer 1 and 2 year membership? what about 6 months or shorter? it would great if TRX is available to members that do not have personal training sessions. no napkins in the change room for people to dry their hands or wipe their faces by the basin? Parking can be tricky during rush hour. but hey, just walk a block, I am there to workout anyways. read more

Solid. Good life fitness has all sorts of equipment. But it is not the type of gym where you want to go if you are in anyway self conscious. I came here for a free event , and found myself thinking. I know my way around a gym, but this place could be pretty intimidating for people new to fitness. Lots of guys who are obviously on steriods, and girls working out in full make out. Good Life seems like a great place to show off your Under Armour, and Nike sports wear. (Don't show up in your tattered tshirt or sweats.) I liked Good Life fitness but only gave it 3 stars. I'm kind of a gym rat, but usually in a I-won't-walk-further-than-to-the-gym-in-my-apartment-complex kind of way. This is only the second gym I've had a membership to in my lifetime but so far, I'm very satisfied. It's a little bit intimidating when you walk in because it's just one huge, ginormous massive room of exercise equipment. But the staff here are very nice and while every gym has some of those clientele that are big, beefy and walk around like they own the gym, mostly everyone is very chill and just looking to get into a bit better shape. I didn't think I would care about the women's-only section, but it turns out I actually prefer working out in there. I like the intimate room, the row of treadmills, and the awesome selection of TV channels to watch (just hook your earbuds into your machine and flip through channels to match). I don't have a TV at home so it's my time to spend an hour jogging while watching something super trashy on Slice TV. I haven't tried any of the drop-in classes yes, but for only $25/month, I'm definitely already getting my money's worth at this gym. read more

When I first signed up at this gym over three years ago it was amazing - they had full time staff that just cleaned the entire time, the place was SPOTLESS! Absolutely amazing!!! Then about 8 months after signing up they had let that person go and the place stinks of BO 24/7 - I go to the gym at all hours and it always smells decrepit!!! You walk in and people don't clean their machines, the weights have chalk left on them, and the equipment is always broken (and they TAKE FOREVER to repair it). In a gym of this size, you would think that accessing equipment wouldn't be an issue but it is! They oversold memberships and you can't get access to any equipment at all - needing sometime as simple as a bench is a problem here. Compounding that is the fact that their personal training staff will come out to take the barbells (sometimes 3-4 of them) for their own personal workouts with others - I am sorry, but if you are training 3-4 people you should have your own equipment in the "Private Personal Training Area" as opposed to taking the equipment that the rest of the hundreds of people in the gym are to use. How does it make sense for them to take the barbells for 45-60 minutes for 4 people when the rest of the gym doesn't have enough equipment? Lights are always burnt out, equipment is never cleaned, it is always dirty from the tracked in snow (another reason why the previous cleaning person made a huge difference), and it is overwhelmed with members. At some point, you would think they would limit the number of memberships they issue as it is always packed, and there isn't enough for the people who already are there. All in all, the concept and layout are great, but their management needs to address a lot of issues. They have so much dead space that could be used to bring in more equipment, but they refuse to do so. 1/5 because of the stink for sure though! read more

This is probably one of very few place that does not offer WiFi to the clients. Sure they got their TV chanels going but it is very frustrating to listen to them since the statics is what you hear more than the actual voices. Staffs are not always friendly here.. I guess they all just like to be in their comfort zone behind the counter. And seems always busy. Women locker room can be very messy time to time and the women isolate workout room need some air circulation.. it could get very stuffy and hot due to the giant windows and the weather being warmed up now.. And ALWAY ALWAY ALWAY very crowded here. I really do hope the other location will open soon. read more

I was at the gym earlier this evening around 6:30PM: it was my first time back since covid. The blonde girl working at the front was incredibly snarky. Her tone was extremely condescending and incredibly rude: it made me want to leave. I understand it's covid, but you can atleast try to be nice when addressing members. Current member at this location since year 1 and I always thought this location to be family friendly. I was in the neighborhood with my nephew who needed to use bathroom. I explained that i'm bringing him in to use the bathroom and they refused to let him use the facility. So instead he peed himself. This made me, as a long-time member, feel like my business was taken for granted. I completely feel foolish for having stayed loyal when other gyms opened up in the area. Was taken advantage of due to disabilities and due to fact I seek validation as I have complex PTSD I signed. Lost job and they couldn't terminate contract or freeze it. While the training was decent I wish i never joined Goodlife as it has such a negative effect on health. I have like 16 training sessions left and as I turned against my trainer Brandon elrick due to fact I had to sacrifice medication to afford rent, I haven't got to or maybe will never get to use the sessions. David Patchell Evans created goodlife for $ not to help people. Don't join the gym don't ever sign for Personal training. Honored the initial 1 year contract and then paid for two week periods for another 3 years without any contract. I moved to a city that never had a GoodLife and gave the gym I was at, 2 weeks notice that I was leaving. I was informed I require 30 days notice even without a contract. I said that was ridiculous and paid my last 2 weeks. Now they are billing me for 4 weeks. Never will go here again. read more

Three years ago, I signed for my daughter when she was 16 and underage and she could not enter a contract ...So I signed FOR A ONE YEAR Contract...Now I am trying to cancel a month to month contract...Harder than getting a divorce! First I called last evening with my daughter home...They would not take the cancellation unless it was between 9AM and 7PM...We both work. I called the Edmonton Office first thing this morning and talked to Melissa, who said she or somone else would call back , or send me a fax, in a few minutes...Two hours later I call back, and Melissa is in a meeting. Two hours later I call back, and they ask who is calling and I give my name...only to be put on hold for 5 minutes..of course Melissa is out...I ask for the Manager, who is out..Then I ask for the assistant Manager, Nigel, am put on hold for 5 minutes and of course he is out. I then call head office at 519-661-0191 and am put on holder (caller number 6) and finally talk to Uxman, who states my daughter who is now 19 (however has never signed any documnets after she is of age) has to cancel. Love this, I am not allowed to talk to his supervisor...Only him..Compant policy..Love this even more... Amazes me that I am the person of age who signed the contract and who has been making payments and the contract must be cancelled by my daugher who could not legally enter into a contract, , and only on the hoursGoodlife has available for cancelling contracts ..(They should know people need to work to pay for their memebership). Disappointing customer service at the GoodLife Fitness location in Mill Woods. The facility appeared well maintained however after signing up and paying the $365 (which now includes a 60$ sign-up fee and first and last month's payment (50$/mo)) and the 6 sessions for a personal trainer, I was misinformed. I had explained my schedule and that it was difficult for me to maintain a regular monthly membership if I would not be using it. When I called in the same day to ensure this was not the case and there was such a thing as 'vacation days' I was told that was only for the 2 year agreement not the 1 year agreement I had signed. When I called the 2nd time to ask if I could cancel over the phone they then told me there was a monthly option for $80 which was no strings attached. I came into the centre to change the first agreement and they informed me that the 165$ sign-up and first-last month fees are non-refundable. I told him that he should have disclosed this or pointed it out on the agreement as I had specifically asked about cancellation and month to month membership and it had been only a few hours since I signed on. There was also an early cancellation fee of $100 on the 1 year agreement once you're past the 10 days and $250 in the first year if you're on the 2 year one. I would have no issues if there was full disclosure but then who wants to disclose a policy that the '10 day trial' has a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE of OVER $100 after sign-up? Certainly not the guy who signed me up it seems. They reluctantly refunded the difference which will now take 3 weeks to arrive via cheque. When I became a University student I wanted to cancel my membership but the cancellation fee was super high (like hundreds of dollars) so I just waited it out until my contract expired. So I cut up my membership card and didn't go back. A couple months after the contract expired I noticed that they were still charging me and I went into get them to cancel it. They told me that there was nothing they could do because there was no manager in. I called later, again, no manager. The third time the person told me that I would have to call headquarters to cancel. After calling headquarters they did cancel my membership, but I still had to pay another instalment after that. So I ended up paying a couple hundred dollars anyway because of poor customer service. The gym itself I would describe as adequate; nothing really stood out about it to me. read more

I give goodlife fitness a 0 rating. I called them on the 11th business day to request my membership be cancelled as I was moving to a city that has no Goodlife fitness centres and the closet one is 4 and a half hours away, I told them I would not be able to use my membership and I just received the information I was relocating on the day I called GoodLife. They had no sympathy that I was relocating and could not use my membership. They wouldn't reimburse me a dime! I was very emotional on the phone as I needed to use the money I purchased my membership with for my unexpected move. I asked them "you'e going to take my money even though I cannot use my membership at all" they said yes we cannot cancel your membership because it has been 10 business days and that's policy. They said their supervisors cannot reimburse me the money as it goes against policy. I then said "this is a situation that you should take consideration for as I'm going through a stressful unexpected move to a city where I cannot use this membership" They then said yeah we can't do anything for you. I asked to speak to their supervisor numerous time and they would not transfer me through! I would recommend never ever purchase your membership outright because they will keep your money and leave you hanging, they have no empathy for their customers from my experience and they are just a money grabber! I've been in customer service for 10 years now and their are certain situations you can accommodate your customer. First some PROS: - has a mini trial package, to test out the gym without commiting to the contract and not having to pay the individual drop in fee - good parking, it's a busy location but there is tons of space to park. - it's a big gym with a lot of machines - does have a seperate area for women should they feel more comfortable there - locker rooms were kept very clean And CONS: - "every body is welcome" is BS. Staff and gym goers alike. - cleaning supplies to wipe down machines was rarely stocked - huge gym, but unless you're going at 2 am it's busy, always busyyyyy - if a machine is 'damaged' but not broken, they won't fix it (eg. machine seat cushion has a tear) - the worst by far is the customer service, and it's not just one staff member it's all of them. Signing up for the gym was a gong show. I understand the appointment thing but lets be serious here this is a gym you're signing up for, not a TFSA. I came in to work out, and asked if I could sign up for a contract with the gym. The girl at the front desk immediately hesitated and pulled out a schedule saying they do it by appointment. At the time I worked full time and wanted to get the sign up done and over with because I definitely wasn't coming in during work hours and apparently only certain staff members can sign you up. The girl at the desk said they could squeeze me in in about an hour and a half on that same day. I thought this worked perfectly; I could do my work out and then go sign up right after. So after the work out, I went to the front desk again, and she said to wait at the tables and pointed out another girl working there that would be over in a bit to do the papers. Then we (boyfriend and I) sat there. For 45 minutes. We watched this girl walk around a bit, and then stand in a doorway to an office and talk, and talk, and talk. Then she went to the front desk, talked to the receptionist girl, make angry faces, and then walk away. Finally she came over, clearly irritated and started the process. She was generically polite, but went over things as quickly as possible which at that point was more than fine by me. So after the paperwork was done, she said that was it and that was all and went to leave. My boyfriend made a point to ask about a gym bag, which I didn't know about but you get one when you sign up. The lady then questioned whether I got one before or not, too which I obviously replied not because I hadn't signed up before today... After all this I just wanted to leave, but my boyfriend mentioned that they should have given a tour of the gym and its services as well. Though given he was a member already and well versed with the gym, he would show me everything. After all this I avoided contact with any staff members until the dreaded day I went to cancel my contract. To avoid the CT location all together, I called and asked if I could cancel at any location, to which they said yes. So I made my appointment with the millwoods towncenter location. Originally the staff there was much more polite, until they found out I was ending my services with them. As we went through the "very difficult" process of ending the services, it was made apparent that I really shouldn't be cancelling because I wasn't fit enough to be cancelling. Everything was so condescending, technically polite cause they never bluntly say it, but condescending. It's just not worth it. The customer services is just too big of a turn off. There are other big gyms equally as good in machine content, with better atmospheres and better customer service. read more

Cancelled my membership in January. Kept having payments taken out of my account. Spoke with my bank, they said it's a common occurrence and asked me to change my bank account numbers. I work in costumer service so I expected some professionalism from their staff. When I spoke with a lady today she was rude, unprofessional and spoke in a very uneducated Manor. In the middle of our conversation she cut me off and said let's get this conversation finished quick. Didn't help me one bit and asked for a ridiculous amount of money. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone. Nothing to do with the gym it's self. Be very careful when signing a contract at this gym. I live in Stony Plain and was working on the south side. I am now at a new job that has me living in Stony Plain and working in the far west end. This gym will not let me cancel my membership without first paying a $250 cancellation fee. That is ridiculous. If they had a gym that I could transfer to that is closer to where I live or work and I chose not to transfer, then I understand charging the fee. But they do not have a gym anywhere near where I am living or working. I tried to prove the job change with a letter from my employer, I showed proof of my home address, etc but they will not take any of that into consideration. I try and live a healthy lifestyle and would love to join a new gym close to where I live or work but cannot afford it when I have to pay $250 in gym fees for a gym I cannot use. AWFUL contract. I have been a member for 10 years, for the last year I have been very sick, so I went to 'suspend' my membership, they informed me it would cost $5 to keep my membership 'open'. When I checked my bank statement, they actually meant $5 per week. So I emailed and said I would like to cancel my membership, they ignored me for a week, while taking out an extra $10, I emailed again, heard back by email that my last payment will come out in 2 weeks (so 4 weeks of payment will come out since I asked them to cancel it!) I told them I was disgusted that I had been a member for 10 years and that the only time they contacted me over the last year that I had not been in was a letter when I made a late payment (because I was in hospital) and NO ONE had asked if I was ok. The staff working on location are super nice. And the facilities are pretty good. But the customer service is terrible when it comes to funding. If you are a student, or low on budget I highly recommend you go with edmonton facilities. Honestly you won't get anything better at GoodLife. Meadows in edmonton is great, and so is terwillegar. I've never been to snap fitness or the new LA fitness, but GoodLife is becoming less of a competitor in that market here. I'm disappointed GoodLife. I wish I never signed with you. read more

This is the best gym I have ever joined. The woman's area is mint; all brand new smooth high end equipment, and a change room that is dazzling with clean and lovely steam and sauna rooms. All the exercise classes are included with the membership also. For 40 bucks a months i feel like i have access to a 4 star resort for my workouts. I am getting fir fast because i actually want to come here. World Health can not compete with this quality the woman's only space there is particularly shabby.
