Rebecca Holberg walked me through the appraisal process of an inherited piece of jewelry. She talked about her love for her craft, explained every detail of what we were looking at from sizing, to cut, to inclusions- with great enthusiasm. She allowed me to look through the tools of her trade to see my jewelry and what made it special under a black light. It was all very exciting! When I needed shoulder surgery, the hospital said my hand would swell and that it was past time to cut my size 9-3/4 wedding band off of my size 13 finger. I had been planning this a while. I spoke to a lot of people. I had the work done at Drummond's. All aspects of resizing the ring, and even allowing my finger to "resize" were thoughtfully considered. I normally comparison shop price. This time I didn't bother. All the discussions I had led to the conclusion that Drummond's would do the work well, that I would be treated honestly, and that they would not be done until I was happy. It is that kind of business, with that kind of staff (all of them). And, I AM happy. My ring is beautiful. It is easily ready for another 37 years. Thank you Drummond's! read more

I came in here to get a watch battery and my watch adjusted after I received it as a Christmas gift. It was a bit pricey, but as luck would have it, if I bought an Alex & Ani bracelet (which were on sale) I would get a free watch battery, therefore only having to pay for the bracelet and an adjustment. I probably would go back unless I wanted more Alex & Ani stuff, because let's be real, this place is $$$PRICEEEEYYYYY$$$. All their jewelry for men and women are stunning though. Customer service seems a bit cold when you walk in there looking like you don't have the money to spend. But, I'm glad the woman working at the Alex & Ani counter was super nice to us and so was the guy helping me with my watch. So thanks to them at least. read more

Talk about service! My husband and I love coming to Goodman & Sons Jewelers. The service is ALWAYS top notch and the staff are so friendly. My husband purchased my engagement ring and wedding band from here! He worked with Kitty for most of the purchase and she was absolutely fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable about the products that Goodman & Sons offers and was easy going throughout the process. My husband and I liked the fact that she didn't try to push anything on us. This is very important to the both of us! I have recently moved out of the area, but visit frequently to have my rings cleaned and inspected. I am very happy with my latest visit because they actually informed me that one of my diamonds on my wedding band was loose! They were able to tighten it up with no issues and I was on my way. My fiancé and I were new to the Hampton Roads area and were looking for a jeweler to make our wedding bands. We received a referral to go talk to Shayna at Goodman & Sons. Previously, we had an amazing diamond consultant in the DC area who helped us pick out my engagement ring, so we weren't sure what to expect here. Shayna, our new consultant at Goodman & Sons, was absolutely exceptional!! She was hands-down the best jewelry consultant we've ever worked with! She was patient and made sure that she researched all of my requests. I went back several times to see samples of bands she had requested from all over the country just for me. I wanted a baguette style wedding ring to match my engagement ring and not only did she contact the maker of my engagement ring but she also had them customize a perfect wedding ring with the exact size baguettes of my engagement ring! The rings look like they were made together on the same day. Shayna is an amazing person who genuinely loves what she does!! My ring is perfect and my fiancé loves his band as well! He wasn't sure what he wanted or how it would go with mine ring. Shayna totally helped him find his style and select a great wedding band that we both love. I cannot wait to get married and put that ring on my fiancé's hand! He will be my husband after that, and I feel like Shayna had a part in that!! I brought in a watch to have the clash repaired, the clerk just look at it and said since it wasn't gold they could not repair it. I took it to another jeweler and it was repaired in less then ten minutes. I have spend a few hundred dollars at Goodman and Sons and feel that I could have gotten better service. I felt that the clerk should at the very least let the repair person decide if he could repair it or not.. I am not happy. I will in the future take my business some place else. read more
