Most of my visit was spent filling out information on a tablet and waiting. When I finally got into a room, nearly the entire interaction was with an assistant who didn't address the issue I came in for. Dr. Chismar eventually came in, glanced at my skin from about six feet away for maybe a minute, said there was "no way to know" what my condition was or what caused it, and then abruptly left for a supposed phone call. She never returned. Instead, the assistant came back with several prescriptions -- none of which were explained to me. Trying to get any clarification was pointless. I was shuffled to the front desk and told to pay $349 with insurance, even though I had been quoted $130-$215 for self‑pay. When I said I preferred to self‑pay, I was told it was "illegal" not to use my insurance -- which is absolutely false. After I called them out, they backtracked on the "illegal" claim but still refused to let me self‑pay, saying it was "policy." Their policy is deceptive, unethical, and predatory. I left with no diagnosis, no answers, no plan, and a much lighter wallet. My entire day off was wasted. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

Not off to a good start. I was seen at an event at N. Fulton Hospital at the end of August. I got a…read morephone call in the first week of September trying to get me to book an appointment with Dr. Goodman since he was the doctor who saw me. I was out of town so I said I would call back. Called back today and was told right off they don't take market place insurance (Obamacare.) I don't have that kind of insurance. Even after telling the girl that answered the phone what kind of insurance I had she had to place me on hold several times to talk with the office manager. She came back on the line and told me they don't accept my insurance. So I called my provider. Sure enough this office is in my network. So my provider called them and conferenced me in after explaining to the new person that answered the phone that they did accept my insurance. Then they tried to say that the Dr. Goodman wasn't accepting new patients. That was a lie because a) He was the doctor at the event trying to get new business and b) the first girl I spoke to said he was booked until the middle of October but he was available after that.

I did a ton of research on breast augmentation, using sites such as Real Self & learning about over VS under the muscle, & the newer "dual plane" technique. Many of the photos I saw online frightened me. The results looked so unnatural! I wanted smaller implants & a very soft and natural look. My favorite photos were of women who had the newer dual plane technique. It was a surprise & delight to find out that two of my friends, one who had her implants changed for new ones, & one who had breast reduction, a breast lift, & a little bit of augmentation, were both patients of Dr McNeel. Both of them have such natural looking results that I instantly knew that he was my guy and MPS was the place to go. My former career was in the medical field. So when I tell you that the care & service and communication was THE BEST I HAVE EVER RECEIVED, believe it! Dueing the initial surgical consult, I was allowed to try on different sizes of augmentation in a sports bra to decide what size I was comfortable with. The patient education showed me pre-surgery, two weeks after surgery, three months after surgery, & six months after surgery. The photos online never show this! You get to see how the breasts will likely look once they have settled in! The photos online are usually only two weeks after surgery and nothing else! That's why they didn't look natural to me! All of my medication's were called into my pharmacy two weeks in advance. No rushing around just before the surgery to try to fill anything, or having to wait in a car after the procedure. They prepare you for success! The instructions they give you are clear, concise, and not confusing! That's a first in my experience in the medical field! They always answer the phone, a nurse practitioner or physicians assistant calls you back very quickly to answer any questions you have, if you don't manage to get them at the moment you call Marietta Plastic Surgery. I had my breast augmentation done October 3, 2023. I only used a little bit of pain medication, Tylenol three with codeine, for the first two days. Then I didn't need it at all! After about two weeks, I let some of my female friends know about my breast augmentation & they of course they wanted to see my new breasts. Even just two weeks after the surgery, they were astounded at how natural they look and how perfectly they fit my body. The technique that Dr. McNeel used (dual plane, 225 cc Mentor silicone for my 5' tall, 95 pound body) not only gave me very minimal bruising, which was gone within about five days, but my own breast tissue is over the bottom 1/3 of the implant & they look soft with round curvature at the bottom, full & very natural. And they haven't even finished healing & softening yet! Also, all of the surgical staff that I met with before the procedure encouraged me to bring in photographs of breast implant results that I liked. So I walked in with two pages, approximately eight or nine different breast implant procedures on other people I had found on other websites. Dr McNeel quickly identified one photo set of "before & after" where the lady was similar to me & let me know that her "look" was closest to my predicted end result, with normal variances, of course. Ladies, I have wanted breast implants for six or seven years. I did an entire years worth of research. And I scored a home run with Dr. McNeil & Marietta Plastic Surgery. I cannot encourage you enough to go see Dr. McNeel and make him your surgeon. Also, three of my friends asked for his contact information. I hope that they go to see him and be as happy as I am with their desired breast augmentation. I am a "very fit" person by most peoples' standards. I have low body fat and lean muscle, BUT I WAS NEVER HAPPY with my breasts or my upper body "profile." With my "new girls," I felt so confident and beautiful! Call Dr McNeed at MPS - don't wait to feel confident & beautiful.

Some time ago, I had an excellent visit at the Roswell office of Goodman Dermatology. I was seen by physician assistant Felicia, who was engaging, knowledgeable, caring, and thorough. In an age in which medical appointments can make one feel rushed and dismissed, I left this appointment feeling appreciation for the amount and quality of the attention I had received. Each staff member with whom I interacted helped to make the visit so favorable. Recently I needed an appointment sooner than was available at the Roswell location, and the Woodstock office was able to accommodate me. Kaitlin and Jennie at the front desk greeted me with great warmth and set the tone for a lovely patient experience. There was barely a wait before I was taken to the examining room, where nurse Lenay patiently asked me questions about the reason for my visit. And physician assistant Raquel was terrific. She too was warm, accessible, professional, interested, and thorough as she examined me and explained the next steps for addressing my condition. As a woman of color, I was thrilled to find a practice that understands the care of black skin, and at both the Roswell and Woodstock locations, I found medical professionals who were not only technically skilled, but also approachable, friendly, and kind. read more

I've been a long-time patient at Goodman Dermatology, but I recently had a very disappointing experience where I will not be returning. Upon checking in the morning, I declined to fill-out their bi-annual office questionnaire. After getting called back and to my surprise Dr. Goodman himself entered may private room and asked me to complete the office's questionnaire, I politely declined, explaining that I didn't believe it was medically necessary. Rather than respecting my choice, Dr. Goodman took offense, insisting that my refusal was disrespectful to him personally. I calmly reiterated that it was simply a questionnaire I preferred not to complete. He then raised his voice, repeatedly accusing me of being disrespectful and even stating, "I can make you do anything" since it was his practice. I remained polite throughout the encounter and still declined, but his rude behavior made me extremely uncomfortable--especially given that I was about to undergo a medical procedure with another doctor and assistant present in the room. What kind of a narcissist (doctor) cares more about his office survey getting completed than how his patients are feeling prior to having skin cancer removed? Hard pass on Marcus Goodman. read more

We go to the Woodstock location. When you walk in just the sensory feel of the office is calming- smells nice spa scent, music is fantastic! I literally had a extraction and almost fell asleep to Dave Matthews. Dr. Goodman, Dr. Keith, and their team made sure I was well informed and kept me comfortable throughout. My husband and 2 of my 4 children are patients and we definitely highly recommend them! Thank you for making something that seemed scary, such a better experience. Now it's time to heal! read more

Too often today a visit to the Dr's office takes hours of waiting and more waiting. I got to Dr. Goodman's office at 10:15 for an 11:00 appointment. I was out of there at 10:45, 15 minutes before my appointment time. Not only are they quick, they are thorough. Unlike my old dermatologist he took his time and really checked everything. I have been a patient of Marietta Dermatology for over 25 years. I have come annually for a full…read morebody exam resulting in your doctors catching and treated a couple of troubling pre-cancers with Mohs surgery. I am very grateful for that. Today, when I went for my annual body exam, I was told not to undress, but to simply remove my top as I would only be examined above the waist, with the below the waist exam to be scheduled for six months later. Although Onyx did a heroic job of trying to convince me that this was medically prudent and necessary, she was not able to convince me that this was anything but a marketing decision. I find that very troubling. When I go to my retina specialist, I expect and receive a full examination of both eyes. When I go to my dentist for cleaning and an exam, they don't merely clean and exam the upper teeth with the assurance that they will get to the lower teeth in six months. I cannot fathom why, other than acting on the advice of a marketing consultant, you would adopt this new and bewildering scheduling. If it's a matter of profit for the practice, I would far prefer that you charge me double to do a full, thorough exam rather than putting me through the aggravation and inconvenience of having to come twice for half an exam each time. At the time of the initial appointment, I had itching behind my knee, but it was not addressed because the lower body inspection didn't happen. Two days after my appointment with Onyx, I developed a serious fungus rash on the back of my knee. Because of knee replacement surgery, any infection there is concerning. When the pathology report came back for the skin on my arm that Onyx removed, it was level zero Melanoma. I said to Onyx that I was just damned lucky that spot had been on my arm and not my leg. Her response was that if it had been, they'd have found it on my next appointment which would have been six months later. Yet she assured me that the level zero Melanoma was an urgent issue that must be addressed immediately. I trust you can understand my confusion at the urgent need for surgery vs. it being perfectly okay to delay catching and treating Melanoma had it been on my leg. Because of the mixed messages I received from Onyx, I decided to do the prudent thing and get a second opinion. When I came in to pick up my records, the gal said that you had canceled my surgery with you and that I could contact the Mohs surgery center to have them do it. Frankly, Dr. Camp, that felt like a dismissal. I have lost confidence in your practice and wanted to give you the courtesy of letting you know why you've lost a loyal patient of over two decades. And for a follow up, because I sent them this letter and delayed surgery with them until I got my second opinion, I got a tersely worded letter from them telling me I had 30 days to pick up my records and find another provider. That feels an awful lot like patient abandonment to me. But, jokes on them, I would not have gone back there anyway.
