After a short wait we got a nice corner table that afforded us a people spotting location. The coffee was first up, and the balance of bitterness and depth of flavour was on point. The salmon special could not have been cooked any better. The salmon melted in your mouth which was lifted by the tangy, slightly curry esque sauce. The kids options were right on the mark too, with clever deconstructed parfait for the sweet tooth of the little ones. All in all, friendly service and great food made for a cracker of breakfast, and we will make this a regular outing. Food 9.5/10 service 8.5/10 decor 7.5/10

Avo on toast with almond butter and lemon dressing- $12

It was Sunday morning. 10am. I would think it was the end of prime breakfast time. Unfortunately I was wrong! Upon arrival at Goodness Gracious, there were no tables available. No problem, we'll just wait outside. It was a hot day and 45 minutes later (!!!) we were finally seated. I'll give the staff at Goodness Gracious credit; our waitress knew we were waiting, she bought us menus and water while we waited and took our orders before we were seated to speed the process along. Top quality customer service. The menu is interesting, very different to any menu I've seen in a long time. It combines classic breakfast favourites- with a twist- with a lunch menu along side. I had the avocado on toast with dill and almond butter, while it was very generous, I do prefer my avocado to be mashed pre-presentation and it can sliced, but that's just nit picking. Overall, Goodness Gracious is a great edition to the sparing west-side breakfast scene. The decor is cool and I really love the staff unique denim shirt uniform. Despite a rough start to my experience at Goodness Gracious, I definitely see room for improvement and growth. With a great team of staff behind them, there is definitely bright things in the future of Goodness Gracious!

I have been driving past this little place watching the 'Something exciting coming soon' signs posted in dodgy green paint for ages. So when this little cafe put itself together, I did go visit. Breakfast it was. Plus, they have very pretty white old fashioned chairs. I had the Lamb Kofta Burger with tzatziki dressing, beetroot relish, and roasted mushrooms on a brioche bun which were accompanied with house made chips. What you recognise about this place, is that they are big on healthy, freshly sourced food. The burger was beautifully presented, the food tasted vibrant, zesty and fresh which is what I do appreciate. I did happen to order a coffee too and it was pretty fresh tasting and really hit the spot. I will be back, if not for the coffee, to try out their other assortment of healthy tasting foods. The service was quick, friendly and they were just lovely people.

New menu as at Jan 2015. No more ramen :-(

Run off their feet we waited considerably less time for a table than others had the mornings we arrived at Goodness Gracious just as the line reset itself and a table freed up for us to sit at. The popularity of this suburban cafe for the weekend brunch hunting crew was evident as we were walked to our tables and the cafe itself buzzed with the conversations from punters. I had my heart set on the mushroom ramen having looked at the menu online. Alas this must be a winter menu item and so I settled for the brisket roll. My food envy was ignited when my boyfriend's japanese-inspired spinach and miso roll. Pro Tip: Trust your gut and order what you first think you will! Our coffees were on point and rounded out our meal quite well. Goodness Gracious, cute name and Hamptons-chic interior aside, is a solid cafe in the Graceville area. Definitely a winner for locals!

Goodness Gracious! Another graceville gem!? This is an excellent medium sized cafe that is off to a flying start. Offering a wide range of innovative breakfasts and brunch styled meals with nice decor and friendly, welcoming staff. The coffee was of a good standard and served quickly. To eat I went for the Pork breakfast (photo included) and my friend had the soup (also inc)

Killed it!!! Best Sunday lunch I've had in ages! Ebba (sorry if that's the wrong spelling) the waitress just murdered that dessert (that's a good thing btw). The staff were cool and funny, had a good vibe. Definitely a great place to try in Graceville. #killinit #checkitout #supportlocalbusinesses #anotherone #EbbaNeedsAPayRaise

The cold, savoury option on their summer menu
    Rebecca B.

I really didn't know what to expect from Goodness Gracious. I went in completely blind to the experience having never even heard of it and not even yelping it before hand. I kind of like living on the edge like that sometimes. We sat outside in the patio area of this old Queenslander looking abode with our four legged friend in tow. Our server, who I am lead to believe is actually the owner, immediately came out to greet him before us and give him a bowl of water for his visit. I love a good dog friendly cafe. She immediately took our drinks order even allowing my friend to pick a drink from their last season menu. She was also very careful to check for dietary requirements. Goodness indeed. And it was on to picking off their rather extensive menu. After carefully considering my options (no, seriously. I put more thought in to this than when I bought my first car) I went for the Dukkah Spiced Eggs. The owner did take the time to warn me that this is an entirely cold breakfast. At first I was like "Yeah! Sure! No problem, I still want it" before realising that she had made a very good point. Excluding the humble avo on toast it is quite rare to find an all cold savoury breakfast. I was excited. I felt like I was breaking new ground. When I did get it I was very pleasantly surprised. You've got labna, you've got pickled boiled eggs, you've got crunchy asparagus spears, you've got marinated mushrooms but the real stand out was the Buckwheat Lavosh. My god they were tasty. And only after I devoured the entire thing did I realise that I had just dined the healthiest I had in a good long while. In fact, there was really nothing on the menu that could be considered as dangerous to someone watching their summer figure. So impressed was I with the breakfast that I decided to take out a salad for lunch. I ordered beef and was a little perplexed as to why she was placing it in a separate container when she remarked that "I don't want it to be all mixed up with your salad in case you don't like it. This way you can just add as much as you like". And this, dear yelpers is the crowning glory of Goodness Gracious. The service here is simply outstanding. No request is too much, nothing is too hard. Goodness Gracious is the Cinderella of suburban cafe dining. That is what will keep me coming back again and again. The equation is simple. Fresh + Local + Food + Coffee = Goodness Indeed.

They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner, & coffee and cakes from Jocelyn's Provisions ! Biggest yass ever because JP cakes are so yum. Table service and wait staff are good - they do get very busy though especially on weekends I have noticed. I have never noticed irritability or rudeness at all, despite how busy they get the staff always appear professional and calm. It is more $$ but the food and drinks is 5/5 quality. Street Parking is available both on the main road and just in the side streets - it's a short walk to score free parking. The baristas are exceptionally skilled, and there is a selection of roasts to choose from. While I normally like my coffee black, something that isn't too hard to make, I've had a few flat whites from Penny which have been excellent. A friend of mine asked if they're able to pull a piccolo using soy milk, without the milk splitting. Despite indicating that the barista don't need to try if they haven't made one before, they produced one (after two failed attempts) by slowly adjusting the extraction to the point where they could add a shot to soy milk without producing soy cheese. Doing this despite explicitly not needing to is the sort of above and beyond that earns long-term customers. The food is similarly stellar. The avo on sourdough may at first blush seem like a pricier version of what everyone else is doing. The flavours in Penny's version are, however, inventive and balanced to a point I haven't had elsewhere. There's a nice balance between the feta, dukkah and pomegranate where you can taste all of them without one overpowering the other. The vegetabowl is similarly great. There's just enough of each ingredient that you can taste them, without the dish being overpowered by one note. Penny's interior makes maximal use of the space. There are comfortably sized tables out front and inside, and some bar seating by the espresso machine. The best seats in the house, though, are out back, and include a few longer tables. The staff at Penny are attentive, friendly and great at pulling a coffee and making food.

I called ahead, and the lovely phone-answerer recommended making a reservation for the weekends, as they do get quite busy. We booked for 8:30 on a Saturday, and while it wasn't overly full when we arrived, a steady crowd did go through in our time there. The space is breezy and open, and our friends were able to wheel their pram up next to the table. The staff were all so kind and helpful. Our server was happy to fill a cup with hot water to warm a bottle, and they really put the mum at ease. There were several other families with children in high chairs, and it's nice to know there's a place I can bring my mum friends. Even though I had spent days looking over the menu, I panicked upon ordering, because there really were so many things I wanted to try. I opted for the build-your-own breakfast plate. I was a little disappointed with the corn fritters I chose, but having lived in the American south, I have really high fritter standards. I did get a nibble of that bacon ice cream, and I know what I'm ordering next time! The portion sizes are quite large, and it really felt like good value for money. We weren't entirely sure where to park, because it is in the ground level of some units, but there is a nearby parking lot for visitor parking with a short sidewalk around to the restaurant. There may be another lot closer, but it looks under construction at the time of this writing.
