a variety of food wrapped in brown paper
    James W.

Wonderful boxes!! Soooo good. I've order multiple different types of boxes and love the variety that comes, there is always something for everyone. These have been my go-to purchase for gifts for others, special treat for our family (sometimes turns out to be lunch for us) or just heading over to a friend's house. The owner is so easy to work with and does a great job organizing delivery, etc.

    I've ordered the Grazer Box!

The bagels were delicious and toasted perfectly. It came with whipped butter and raspberry jam on the side. The pastrami omelet was very large and came with a generous serving of potatoes. ALso tried the pastrami and corned beef breakfast bagel, which was packed with almost like an omelet tucked inside a bagel. Also got a side of hand made chicken sausage which was okay. Tasted healthy. The one disappointment was the vanilla latte. It tasted more like it came from an automated coffee machine than a traditional espresso machine and lacked the flavor and quality I was expecting. Most things are self-serve here, including finding your own seating, grabbing silverware, getting water, and pouring drip coffee. As we were leaving, a live musician was getting set up to play, Which added a really welcoming atmosphere. The inside is nicely decorated and family friendly, with lots of children's books around to help keep little ones entertained. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but the portions are large. Food tastes good, large portions, cozy atmosphere, and live music, I'd come back again though I'd probably skip the latte next time.

All the food here is packed with flavor. The workers at the counter take your order and bring the food to your table. Its a nice cozy vibe regardless of the time of day or weather. One thing that has always stood out to me is that they serve Matzo Ball soup and an amazing Reuben sandwich. On my last visit I went around breakfast time. We ordered both the #7 Omelette: Nova Scotia Lox and the #2 Omelette: The Supreme Omelette. Of course both were such generous portions that we had leftovers. We also got the Reuben. The sandwich was so big it had to be deconstructed and eaten with a fork and knife.

I used to come down here often but now it takes 20 minutes to get there instead of five in the old days. The window display grabbed my attention because it had a lot of cute new jellycats. Went inside and they had a small section of new Jellycats, picked up two of the Valentine's Day macaroons and looked at a couple others. They had several great sale items at 70% off. Overall, the store is super cute and the owner and the person that were working there were super nice and friendly. I find the other reviews hard to believe but maybe they've changed over the years. Would definitely stop in here again if I was looking for a gift or the latest in JellyCats..

No "hello," no acknowledgment nothing. Almost immediately after, another white customer came in and she greeted her and began helping her right away. The difference in treatment was very noticeable. Throughout the time we were in the store, she kept looking at me in a strange and uncomfortable way. It felt like we were being judged rather than welcomed as paying customers. There was no effort to assist us, check on us, or make us feel comfortable in the space. Customer service should be equal and respectful to everyone who walks through the door. Instead, I left feeling ignored and singled out. I don't take accusations like this lightly, but the experience genuinely felt discriminatory. I hope management takes this seriously and evaluates how customers are being treated. No one should feel unwelcome in a business because of how they look.

With that said, I've noticed several cost cutting changes over the years that I'm not thrilled about. The meat department used to have a traditional butcher counter, which made it easy to get the exact amount of black forest bacon I needed. This is now gone and replaced with pre-packaged cuts. Bulk bacon is no longer offered, and shopping for meat now creates more plastic waste. Recently, the deli counter was replaced with pre-portioned servings. This move might make sense but is not a great sign of for the future of this store. I'm glad the sandwiches have been spared, especially since I eat those pretty frequently. Lastly, the pizza situation is lacking. Maybe something's up with the heat lamps, but slices tend to dry out and are incredibly unappetizing. The only way you'll get a good piece is if it just came out of the oven. This is not an issue at other PCCs, where the pizza is in good shape throughout. Overall, still love shopping here but I hope my PCC's best days are ahead.

The hot bar food is worse than the Bellevue location and tastes like reheated food. A lot of the former, friendly staff members are gone. If you're a member, they periodically reduce their dividends or don't pay out at all. There's always someone asking you for money or to sign a petition outside the store despite the fact that they have armed security inside the store at all times. The only good thing left is that the produce is still fresh.

Since I'm more fond of supporting Mom & Pop shops, I decided to stop by Boss Tea first. This boba shop is shared with a Banh Mi Deluxe - in fact, I'm not really sure if it's actually a separate business at all and just has different signage outside. At any rate, the place is basically take out only. While there are four stools available, the counter space is taken over by potted plants, so there's not really any flat surface to rest any drinks or food. That works for me, but it's something to be aware of. Since this was my first visit, I went with the black milk tea/special. Boss Black Milk Tea, Less Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6.75) - This is a mixture of two different types of brewed tea, mixed with liquid creamer and syrup. The creamer and syrup are hand measured and mixed, so it's not as consistent as other shops using machines. Each sip has a pretty harsh sweetness that really hits the back of the throat. The drink is pretty creamy and the tea has almost a bit of a spiced note to it. Still, overall I found the sweetness to be too harsh and overpowering. There's a slight fruity sweetness on the exterior of the boba. The boba is soft and the texture feels kind of like a particularly leathery jelly. The teeth slice through the pearls easily with little bounce back. The pearls stiffen up a bit as they sit in the cold drink, which increases the firmness and bounce a little bit, but they never reach an especially bouncy state. I think this might be old boba that wasn't rotated correctly. They give a lot of boba in the cup, but unfortunately it's just not that pleasant to eat. Milk Tea Rating: 3.5/5 Boba Rating: 2.5/5 They also have a fridge that sells flan and Vietnamese yogurt. I was full from lunch so I unfortunately couldn't try them. Note: Boss Tea charges a 3% card fee Bathrooms - None
