Even the rice had a lovely socarrat. I made the appetizers, salads, and desserts to complete the meal. I was also impressed with just how organized and attention to detail they were. Barely any plates were left behind from the event even though people were randomly leaving them in awkward places. I was truly impressed with their work and they color coded our names to match who we had been corresponding with, which I just thought was beyond brilliant. I've had the pleasure to work with Annalee, and she took time to answer questions even in a room full of other guest. She really made me feel 1:1 with her. LETS TALK FOOD!!! As you saw from the photos the buffet was beautiful displayed and the style they chose was perfect for doing a double sided buffet to get everyone through quickly. The hors d'oeuvres- I reallllllly loved the apricot & prosciutto canapé! I wanted to eat (5) of them!!! They kept going quickly as well! Tad small in size, it's truly a bite size taste. For winter it can always be hard to get local vegetables and have a combo that works. But these were done very nicely. It was a combination of beets, carrots,& red peppers. All of which were cooked nicely. The carrots to me were crunchier then I was expecting, yet I enjoyed the contracts. The Mediterranean Inspired Chicken- this was intriguing to say the least. The first time I tried it I didn't know if I liked it or not. The chicken however was nicely done. When I went to try it again I did enjoy it, so maybe it was because I was trying so many different things? Again, the second time I tried it, the chicken was done very well. Not bad for buffet style! I said if these arnt good then we can't go with them because I NEED mashed potatoes at my wedding..... damn they were good. They also went the fasted. I couldn't ever get a good shot of them! So in the spirt to showing you how good they are, the photo speaks for itself. It was for my brothers shotgun wedding and I decorated it myself so I could have it done in time. If you order cakes though them make sure you give them 5 days notice to avoid being stressed! The employee responded enthusiastically, saying, "Happy Monday! This is great news!! Thank you for choosing Duos Catering. I (we) will take great care of you!!" However, I was supposed to receive a call from her on Monday, which never happened. I followed up on Tuesday with my availability but did not receive a response. On Wednesday, after not hearing back again, I reached out once more, requesting a specific time to connect. The employee agreed, but a few hours later, I received an email saying, "I'm so very sorry, but unfortunately, we are no longer available on the date you requested. I was just informed that my co-worker already booked an event on the date you requested, and due to the holiday weekend, we can only take one event. I do apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know if there is anything else I may help with." I was shocked by this email. We were ready to move forward and would have paid on asap if she had followed up as discussed. To be informed via email, and not even with a phone call, that they were no longer available was extremely unprofessional. When I called to discuss this, I was told that the other team member had not communicated with her about another couple booking the same date. I asked to speak with a manager and was contacted by the owner, Ben. During our conversation, Ben acknowledged that he was the one who booked the other client and said, "Yeah, I have been talking with them before you." FLOORED. This entire situation could have been avoided with clear communication. Had I been informed that a hold had not been placed, I would have expedited the payment process. I am deeply disappointed with this experience.
