I am so thrilled to be updating this review!…read more Following my initial review, I was contacted by the office manager, Justina, a truly kind person who urged me to come in and have Dr. Rydzik take a look at the scar. I was wary of returning, as, in my experience, I've found that accountability is rare to come by in medical practices (or in the world at large today!). But I can honestly say I am so glad to have been wrong in this instance. Dr. Rydzik acknowledged that an error had been made and told me that the medical assistant who had removed my stitches was receiving further training. She examined my arm and confirmed a keloid had formed due to the stitches being removed too early and she and her medical team provided me with a complimentary laser treatment to reduce the appearance of the scar, in addition to noting that, if future treatments for this scar are needed, those treatments would be complimentary as well. They were warm, reassuring, and really put me at ease. Thank you, Dr. Rydzik, Justina, and Bilkey (I'm so sorry if I'm misspelling your name) and a big thank you as well to the lovely woman who performed the laser on my arm today (so sorry, I'm forgetting your name!). I will continue to return as a patient for my dermatological needs as well as for my aesthetic needs and I will certainly recommend this office to friends, knowing that this is the kind of place where--should a mishap occur, as it can anywhere--the staff genuinely care to make it right.

Then, when it was over, which I was a little surprised it was cause how short the service felt, she gave me a dry erase marker, for me to write positive things about myself at home, almost a gag gift and pretty much told me my service was done. I was about to leave with the towel wrap around my head and asked her, "did you need this back?" And she just giggled and said, "oh yea, you don't want people out there to see that you just got a facial", something in that manner. And then I had to ask her what I should do with my face cause she practically left my face with clear sticky stuff. It was just a very interesting facial. She was very knowledgeable, and felt that my experience was more informational than an actual facial. Never experienced it in that way. I was really excited to find a regular place to go to, but now I'm not sure if I would come back.

I had a nasty rash and Dr. Reed was able to diagnose it and provide me with the right medications to heal me within a few weeks. Most recently I was enduring intense scalp itch. Whenever I wore black, it was embarrassing because I looked like a straight up snow globe. There were flakes all over my shoulders and back. The itch was so bad it woke me up at night. This was happening for a few months before I finally went to see Dr. Reed. I wish I didn't wait so long because she cured me! Dr. Reed confirmed it was just itchy flakes and nothing more serious (phew!) and prescribed me a medicated shampoo and steroid liquid. After two weeks, it cleared it right up! However, I felt less itching in just a couple days. THANK GOD. I felt so assured at my visit because Dr. Reed was very confident that what she prescribed me would help and it totally did! I spent money on over-the-counter itch shampoos and meds that didn't work! I should've just gone straight to Dr. Reed when it first was happening so I wouldn't have so many restless nights from scratching. My scalp itch was debilitating so I am utterly grateful that Dr. Reed had such a quick and easy solution. Also, I had flaky skin on my eyebrows even though I moisturized regularly. Dr. Reed recognized that it was eczema and prescribed me a strong hydrocortisone cream and sure enough, it cleared it up in less than two days! I can't make this stuff up. Dr. Reed is always so kind and professional and definitely knows what she's talking about. She has the ability to make her patients feel affirmed and at ease. Her staff is also competent and amazing! I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a solid dermatologist!

The RN also is unapproachable with your issues too. The only redeem a little quality about this practice are the front desk staff. Otherwise it's just one of those nice looking white wall practices that have no depth just like the healthcare professionals who work there. If you want to leave feeling terrible about your skin and hair, absolutely go here.

I have tried everything my doctor has prescribed me from differn to doxycycline. I have tried every over the counter medicine imaginable including proactive. Using other products I never had any results. Or if I did they would only last for a few days then my skin would break out again. I am about 20 days in to the program and my skin is already night and day different. My initial consultation was wonderful. It is a great experience to have someone personally tailor a skin care routine to your needs. There are a ton of different products she has available and she will recommend what will work best for you. I am using the face reality products and I am very pleased. If you take her advice, stay away from certain foods and chemicals, and stick to the morning and evening routine you will see results. I have literally tried everything for years and my skin has never looked better than it does now. *** UPDATE*** I have been going to see Karin monthly now for a year. My acne is GONE!! I occasional get hormonal breakout (influenced by that time of the month) and seeing her monthly is more enjoyable now. My skin continues to improve and my breakouts are less and less severe. Now, maybe I am just used to the TRUE luxury spas like in Scottsdale, AZ or Southern California but if people here think this is a luxury spa you have not really been to one. First, upon arrival it is clear they want to push their med spa and procedures there was nothing but advertisements, creams, and marking for that in your face everywhere you turned. After checking in, the woman said she would give me a tour, she led me to a glass door that was supposed to be an outdoor patio and said I could use it if I wanted some sun, I looked out to see a broken fountain, a mess of chairs thrown about, and nothing relaxing or enticing that made me want to go out there. Next, she led me down the stairs to the soaking pool, cold dip, etc. I booked this place for one reason. I am recovering from an injury and wanted to soak in a hot tub, sauna, etc. While it was visually pleasing in that particular part, but then she said "and today since it is so hot out, we have the soaking pool at am ambient temperature." Like what do you mean ambient? I was thinking to myself that thing better be a VERY warm ambient. When walking out she pointed to some neglected pedicure chairs in the corner and said these are nice to sit in and get a massage and are heated. I thought that was strange because the chairs were stained and had clearly not been used in a while and you had to climb up a huge stone step like you would if you were getting a spa pedi just to use them. It was like they were trying to pass them off as something nice but really should be taken out! Next, we went into the locker rooms, now when I go to the spa, I bring a swimsuit, and a fresh change of clothes and my makeup to freshen up after. The lockers were the size of piggy banks, and I had to cram my stuff in so tight, it would barely lock and upon opening everything fell out. There are no hooks ANYWHERE, I had to put my robe on the dirty ground after getting into my swimsuit because there was no where to hang it, or a towel once you were getting dressed and undressed. Anyway, she said she would turn on the jets to the soaking pool and bring me some paperwork to sign. She never did either. I put my suit on with my now dirty gross robe, and sandals that were enormous. I couldn't wait to get in the pool and I step in and it is absolutely freezing. Like ice cold bath water. This is what she meant by ambient. Like on your website you say it is 103 degrees, this was maybe 85 degrees. I was so upset. The entire reason I came and I am now teeth chattering cold. I get out of the pool and go into the sauna to warm up. It is also turned down so low that I crank up the temp to 105 degrees and it took forever to heat up. Now I am soaked and damp, and even more uncomfortable than when I arrived. I went back to the locker room, took off my wet suit and changed into dry undergarments for my massage and thought I would try to warm up in the heated massage pedi chairs she pointed out. I sit down and push the massage and literally thought my brain was going to get shook out of my head. It just vibrates at a scale that is NOT comfortable. I just shut it off and honestly almost left at that point. Fifteen minutes after my massage was supposed to start, this massage therapist huffs around the corner and says my name. She literally has a mullet, the biggest N95 White mask on I have ever seen and NO SHOES! Like what in the actual F! One thing is for sure, if you are wanting a "stay weird" Portland spa, y'all have found it! We go into this weird doctors treatment room, nothing calming, relaxing or spa vibes at all. It's very bright in there, and I tell her I want light pressure, and I had to tell her three times to lighten it up. I HATE massage therapists that use their elbows, and whole arms, and sh** like they are digging into you. I just want something relaxing not where I am grunting for you to stop! I had also asked for the hot oil head massage. After my 60 minutes, she didn't say anything about it, didn't offer it, and honestly I was at this point thinking I am at the threshold of hell. I just wanted to get out of there. I went back to the locker room, and because they offer no bags for your wet clothes like most spas, my suit had soaked my entire bag and I left in wet soppy clothes. The one nice thing is the girl working the front desk noticed how displeased and offered to take off the $25 for the spa facilities but honestly this place is an epic joke, trying to pass off as luxury. Do not waste your time, or energy here.
