    Strawberry shortcake & strawberry sundae
    Susan L.

Best lunch on a cloudy day! Fresh strawberry Sunday and fresh strawberry shortcake, eaten outdoors, next to the strawberry fields. Reasonable (very!) prices! Both of these together were $9.00. Friendly staff, clean restrooms. Don't forget to shop their small farm market while you're there!

Not the best picture but the best Cuban sandwich!

Amazing strawberry shortcakes and as crazy as it may sound, delicious Cuban sandwiches.

While dashing in Fish hawk, i got taken way to close to this market and decided to take a detour! I know it's Friday n i had this gut feeling it was going to be as full as the one on 92 in plant city. It was but this one actually has a better parking lot layout! Looks like they could expand the lot more to. I saw a couple trucks gambling with parking in the grass but i wasn't sure if it was a farm road instead. I got lucky with handicap spot right up front. Please have patience n be careful, there is a lot of car and pedestrian traffic in the lot. Huge blind spots with the trucks blocking view. Being a Friday the line was as big as plant city. This market is in a good spot. Dead center of many farm n country homes n communities. Takes a long drive to get here from lithia pincrest / boyette, but way shorter for the gibsonton folks. Feels closer from 301. The door fir market is the same for the treat dessert side. You will be greeted by a store clerk that makes sure nobody is cutting the line. Believe me, people were giving me "the stare!" Lol i sneaked into the market side. The good thing is that there's railing dividing us. So if u want to send dad in by himself? U could always wait by the rails or go outside n hold a table. Most people i saw were buying n ditching. On the market side there were a couple stalls of fruit n veggies. Then a whole wall with pallets of strawberries. They had 2 sizes. Half ish and full flat. I walked out with a full flat for $12! Great price tag on the strawberries! Picked up a couple veggies to cook for dinner. Best size on the green peppers. U can make great meal with them! Im going for stuffed mushrooms n beef green peppers! 2 for $1 was great. Will definitely come back for more veggies. I need to come back during opening time for the shortcake n milkshake n just over kill my cravings lol. Fruit will make your car smell like heaven! bring a nice big food bag. They do sell flax boxes for $1.50 you can fit two flats if u take that option or shove the veggies in there with everything. I also added sugar free strawberry sauce. I may make some tarts with it to. They sone local honey n jams. Nice small market, friendly staff to. I highly recommend to come early or bring grandparents with blue badge out for treats! Don't throw box away! Bring it for next time! Forgot to mention; dunno if they do it? But the place would make a ridiculous amount of money if they added like a live music band n a bbq grill off the side during night time. This is like the only business like this towards any side of the road! Like rent out space for food trucks also? Place would make more bank! It's far away from communities so no noise complaints. Nice country barn with bbq n music on the side? Bam bring in the mula! Lol theres a winery in uhh plant city north area near the dino world? Has a similar setup. They started with just wine testing but when they added the dance floor n restaurant to it? It'm blew up! Then on holidays? Theme hard bring in cute gift sets. Flat shaped like a heart? Bruh! Better than flowers! Choco dip strawberries to!

Closure notice for season March 20, 2021

I've never been here before and I'm super disappointed in myself for that! It's a bit of ways away from me, but we'll worth the trip! They have a great menu to choose from and service is super quick! From what I understand they open late fall and are open until about March. Unfortunately their last day to be open was March 20, 2022 for this season. Inside the ordering area there's also a small market to buy veggies, preserves, and a few other things. I didn't know they did sandwiches and let me say their Cuban is amazing! Even better than ones I've have in Ybor (I know that's blasphemy to say!). They have tomato's and lettuce on the side so you have the choice to add it if you want. Condiments are left to the side of the ordering area to pick up by the ordering area. I ordered a strawberry smoothie and it was sooo good! (Though I only got a couple of sips before it spilled in my car ). However the REAL show stopper? It's the "The Works" Shortcake! The cake is soft, the ice cream a perfectly smooth vanilla creamy goodness (huge portion of it too), strawberries, and whip cream! The whip cream itself is not very sweet but the ice cream alone will make up for that. My friend ordered the strawberry pizza slice and said it was amazing! If you want a whole pie you'll need to call 24 hours in advance to let them know. I bought some strawberry butter preserves but I haven't tried them yet; however, it looks delicious and has a long expiration date on it. Honestly when this place opens back up y'all better get down here and taste this amazing food!

The strawberries from the farm are nothing like when you get them off season in the store. I have been coming here for 3 years now and the lines seem to be longer and the staff seems to be less urgent. They also discontinued their stamp card this year. I finally tried a Cuban and I didn't think it was worth the wait. Now , the strawberry pizza for sure is!! We tried to go back today and the line was around the building so we left.

Always one of my favorites during the strawberry season. Now only can you wait in line to get a shake, dessert, hot dog, or sundae, but you can also shop for local produce. Goodson's has a great variety of local produce with fantastic prices. The freshest strawberries around too. Don't forget to pickup your stamp card to earn your free flat of strawberries too. They're only open during season, and closed on Sundays. So make sure you check them out December - March!

Omg. I countdown every year until this place opens! My hubby is a Floridian and has never had strawberry pizza - how that's possible, I have no idea. But he fixed that this year. And boy was he happy. We went shortly after they opened so the lines weren't long. Our eyes are always bigger than our stomach when we go here. So we had a Cuban, strawberry shortcakes and a slice of strawberry pizza. Everything was music to my belly. Everything. Of course we had to go back and grab some fresh veggies and we couldn't leave without getting strawberries of course. My husband was amazed by the VERY reasonable prices. My work team in Milwaukee will each receive a small local honey to showcase the beauty of Florida. Multiple visits to this place are mandatory!

I can't wait until December for some great Cuban sandwiches and strawberry shortcakes. The owners are very kind and smart. Don't believe fake reviews from weird people that have never patronized this business.

Oh My Goodness, the strawberry shortcake & milkshake was goooood. The service and ambiance were friendly and inviting. Definitely, I will visit again!

    Lines for food and produce

Closed for the season, reopening in December 2021. They are the greatest but short lived. This year, with Covid, made it more difficult to enjoy their ice cream side, due to the long lines, around the building. Although worth the wait, not a go to place considering that. Their vegetable side was great and the strawberries were outstanding, but I noticed that other than strawberries, the other items were in short supply. Either way, they will be missed for another 8 months.

Strawberry shortcakes, strawberry milkshake and strawberries!
    JA S.

One word: YUM! The freshest of the fresh strawberries and most yummy milkshakes can be found here! So sad it is closed until the season starts back up again. What an awesome gem to find. This place gets busy and for good reason! Cheap, very reasonable prices and quality produce. I can't wait til they reopen again so I can get my strawberry milkshake fix!

Ask the Community - Goodson Farms

Is Goodson Farm opened now for the season?

12/30/2020 is what the signs indicates outside of the business.

Does this place have paved sidewalks? My boyfriend has a broken ankle and is currently using a walker and we really want to try this place as a treat after a long week.

Yes the location is on a lot with a paved parking lot and it's all paved around it and into the entrance.
