Tis the season! Florida strawberry season that is.. It really is a lovely one. Even more so when you don't have to wait 50 minutes to order your strawberry goodies in rare Florida freezing weather. Sorry but that was too reminiscent to a queue to hop on a major theme park ride. I really think the two girls that were there yesterday needed another pair of helping hands. Nonetheless, their strawberry pizza always hits the spot. This is a no-fail choice, if you have a little sweet tooth you want to satisfy. We also ordered the strawberry milkshake (small) which was yummy and the shortcake which was good as well though the strawberries tasted a LITTLE fermented in this one, which I feel was just an isolated issue as I've ordered it before without this being a thing. Very nice little farm that sells strawberries and other produce as well as some food during the strawberry season (December through March). It has a decent sized parking lot, and they are organized so that despite the crowds, we moved through pretty quickly. We ordered a fully loaded strawberry shortcake, a strawberry pizza, and a couple milkshakes. We also grabbed a pint of strawberries on our way out. The prices for the prepared foods was very reasonable. My daughter loved the strawberries with ice cream and whipped cream but didn't love the cake part. My son and husband loved the strawberry milkshake that was not too sweet and very clearly made with fresh fruit. The strawberry pizza was awesome, even if it isn't a "true" pizza -- no pizza dough, no cheese, etc. It's a sugar cookie covered with strawberries and whipped cream. I wish I could've ordered a whole "pizza," but you need to order 24 hour ahead. We'll happily return next year. read more

While dashing in Fish hawk, i got taken way to close to this market and decided to take a detour! I know it's Friday n i had this gut feeling it was going to be as full as the one on 92 in plant city. It was but this one actually has a better parking lot layout! Looks like they could expand the lot more to. I saw a couple trucks gambling with parking in the grass but i wasn't sure if it was a farm road instead. I got lucky with handicap spot right up front. Please have patience n be careful, there is a lot of car and pedestrian traffic in the lot. Huge blind spots with the trucks blocking view. Being a Friday the line was as big as plant city. This market is in a good spot. Dead center of many farm n country homes n communities. Takes a long drive to get here from lithia pincrest / boyette, but way shorter for the gibsonton folks. Feels closer from 301. The door fir market is the same for the treat dessert side. You will be greeted by a store clerk that makes sure nobody is cutting the line. Believe me, people were giving me "the stare!" Lol i sneaked into the market side. The good thing is that there's railing dividing us. So if u want to send dad in by himself? U could always wait by the rails or go outside n hold a table. Most people i saw were buying n ditching. On the market side there were a couple stalls of fruit n veggies. Then a whole wall with pallets of strawberries. They had 2 sizes. Half ish and full flat. I walked out with a full flat for $12! Great price tag on the strawberries! Picked up a couple veggies to cook for dinner. Best size on the green peppers. U can make great meal with them! Im going for stuffed mushrooms n beef green peppers! 2 for $1 was great. Will definitely come back for more veggies. I need to come back during opening time for the shortcake n milkshake n just over kill my cravings lol. I've never been here before and I'm super disappointed in myself for that! It's a bit of ways away from me, but we'll worth the trip! They have a great menu to choose from and service is super quick! From what I understand they open late fall and are open until about March. Unfortunately their last day to be open was March 20, 2022 for this season. Inside the ordering area there's also a small market to buy veggies, preserves, and a few other things. I didn't know they did sandwiches and let me say their Cuban is amazing! Even better than ones I've have in Ybor (I know that's blasphemy to say!). They have tomato's and lettuce on the side so you have the choice to add it if you want. Condiments are left to the side of the ordering area to pick up by the ordering area. I ordered a strawberry smoothie and it was sooo good! (Though I only got a couple of sips before it spilled in my car ). However the REAL show stopper? It's the "The Works" Shortcake! The cake is soft, the ice cream a perfectly smooth vanilla creamy goodness (huge portion of it too), strawberries, and whip cream! The whip cream itself is not very sweet but the ice cream alone will make up for that. My friend ordered the strawberry pizza slice and said it was amazing! If you want a whole pie you'll need to call 24 hours in advance to let them know. I bought some strawberry butter preserves but I haven't tried them yet; however, it looks delicious and has a long expiration date on it. The strawberries from the farm are nothing like when you get them off season in the store. I have been coming here for 3 years now and the lines seem to be longer and the staff seems to be less urgent. They also discontinued their stamp card this year. Shortly after moving to the area my neighbors told us about Goodson Farms. They said we "had" to be sure to go! I am sure glad they told us. The farm store is surrounded by strawberry fields. While we were there a gentleman was bringing in strawberries right from being picked. You won't get any fresher than here. And, I almost forgot to mention the size! They put Publix strawberries to shame! These strawberries are large! In addition to their amazing strawberries Goodson's also sells a small amount of some mixed Vegas. They have a display of all different flavors of jams. I purchased the strawberry and it's delicious. They also serve lunch. They have a window where you can place an order. They serve Cuban sandwiches, hot dogs, strawberry shortcakes, strawberry shortcakes with ice cream, shakes, chocolate dipped strawberries. There are plenty of picnic tables outside for you to sit and enjoy your treats or lunch. There is plenty of parking right out front. The sad news is that they are seasonal and only open from December thru April. Best strawberries ice ever had in the US. I'm from Belarus and it is pretty common thing over there to grow your own berries if you have a little country house. All berries are super sweet and full of flavor. Living in US I've tried strawberries only from stores and it is now even close to the strawberries from home. Been waiting for this spot to open up as is close to my parents house and every time we would drive by was closed so imagine our excitement seeing it finally opened! I came across this place in Yelp and I can understand why the great reviews. The strawberries are big and sweet. My only regret was not taking a bigger basket home. I come from Miami so we have our fair share of little spots down a little further south but the strawberries here are bigger, the prices are lower, the line although long moved and overall very well organized. We tried a little of everything and the star for me was not even the strawberries was that cuban sandwich! Cuban sandwich in a strawberry farm? Yes! Dont knock it til you try it. Ham was a great selection and the pickles are homemade. Im still thinking about that sandwich. I've visited here on a weekend in hopes that I could pick some strawberries. The group of folks that I was with thought we could harvest fruit here as this is a farm. However, we arrived to see that there were long lines of people waiting for food/drink of some sort. Apparently, they have locally famous strawberry shortcake comparable to the ones in Plant City, Florida during strawberry season. There's also a little grocery market inside with locally grown produce, homemade jellies, varieties of honey, etc. I ended up getting a quart of chopped strawberries, a bulb of onion, and one of their more famous strawberry shortcake's. The shortcake was delicious! I would definitely consider coming here again if I happen to need to be on this side of town. It's a little ways out there over by Riverview, but if you are visiting, it's worth a stop by if you're craving strawberries while they're in season. read more

"Good" as advertised. This place is actually a distance from I-75. You will see nothing along the way then you see a strawberry farm and the production center. They close at 6 pm. The farm on the west of the compound has a lot of strawberry is growing. Some of them is green. The farm has wide field of strawberry. Certainly this is not just for public but also for production by the scale they have. The welcome center has strawberry for sell. But they are not in pricing. Some of the strawberry we seen is a bit dark red in the box. May be we arrive about 5:15 pm. All the good one already pick up by the visitors.
