Great Food! Great Choices! Excellent Value! Servings/sizes and value for the money. Visiting with friends and Pizza for dinner was the choice. Open on Sundays, stopped at Italiano's. Food choices from the menu ranged from pizza, Italian and American sandwiches, appetizers. Quick prep and service. The Calzone was excellent and huge as a "large" goes. Half came home for leftovers. An out-of-towner craving a thin crust, locally made pizza. Located on Yelp, called for carry out, and headed their way for pick up! My family makes the best pizza, so I rarely give out a five star rate!! I'm giving three based on what I ordered: a thin crust, cheese and pepperoni large pizza purchased near lunchtime. The pizza was good, needed some additional toppings to enhance flavor ie onions, peppers or a second cheese. Needed salt and pepper. Cooked well yet could have been a bit longer for a crisper crust I prefer for a thin crust. Yet, good pizza regardless!! Even better reheated day 2. The atmosphere of the establishment was undefined and IF I had been driving by versus intentionally seeking this business out via Yelp, and as an out-of-towner, I'd driven by without stopping. The building is resemblant of an old mini strip mall beside an older looking gas/grocery/market located near the river bank area on the West side of the city. Upon arriving it's confusing to where to enter; handwritten signs clear confusion. The "lobby" is a few chairs, a purchase counter with take out menus and one in house menu with a large menu. Daily/weekly specials were labeled on the take out menu yet updated verbally by the hostess at the registered. Very kind and very informative yet having made a call in order reflective of the online menu, it was a bit frustrating and overwhelming. I don't think that was this places intention possibly their intention was exactly the opposite; yet, as an out of towner- called in phone order for pick up it could be something to consider when working on an online informative menu. There were bottles of pop to purchase and a nice selection of single packaged desserts ie cheesecake, chocolate cake etc. for $4.99 a piece. The pieces were large and reflected a good option. Yet again, this isn't known until one is picking up for purchase! This business is pick up only and does NOT have an eat in dine. I do think they offer delivery, but you should ask!! The pizza was good. For what I ordered, I've had better, yet maybe a thin crust, 2-topping at lunch wasn't a perfect sample for all their food offerings. The stand alone building is off putting to an out of towner. The online menu should be critiqued, enhanced and prioritized for this business only pick up offers. I'd try it again when in Kingsport. I'd try one of their other options on their menu. I'd try a dessert. The price was acceptable. And the hostess/cashier was very sweet!!! I'm rooting for Italiano's!!! Give them a try!! Flavor good but I don't like soggy crust, second time tried meatball sub, husband had spg, meatball, first off with a name like Italianos! You don't expect , frozen rubber meatballs, my husband literally could not bite into a meatball so hard, from being microwaved I'm sure, mushy pasta, to, horrible, sampler basket , no sauces had to ask for them, staff was not overly friendly!, our table was dirty, had to clean it off! I hate putting bad reviews but this place is not all it's hyped to be. I got 2 orders of wings.. plain and BBQ... it's the same wing but with BBQ sauce drizzled on top. The plain wings are OK at best, the BBQ on the BBQ wings make it more enjoyable. The cheese on the pizza slushed off like a blanket and in general was very flimsy.. chewy crust is a no go for me. For a while I've come to Italiano's and have receive amazing food. But it is just going down hill. My Sub was missing toppings I requested and they just threw them on top like it fixed the problem. But the WORST is finding and eating HAIR inside on my calzone, That was also cold. THREW AWAY MY FOOD and staying away from this place from now on. I no longer live in Kingsport but drive there just to get food from Italianos! My husband loves the spaghetti with meat sauce and I love the Alfredo, pizza, and calzones. Everything is so flavorful and you get big portions for the price. If you like quality Italian food make sure to check them out! This restaurant is a wonderful little hole in the wall! We ordered the Spicy Chicken & Shrimp Penne which is my mom's absolute favorite from here and I can see why! It is perfectly spicy without burning your mouth and there is an ample amount of meat. It's big enough to split if you get a salad as well or enjoy for two meals! I order from here often. The prices are high but usually the food is good. Tonight I ordered a cheesesteak. It comes with mushrooms, green peppers, onions and banana peppers on it. I also ordered a cannoli. The cheesesteak only had a little meat and melted cheese. It had so much salt on it, it wasn't eatable !!! NO peppers, mushrooms or onions!! The cannoli barely had any filling , so all you could taste was the shell. I always try to buy from local establishments but my experience here was so bad I'm not sure I will ever go back. This place is seriously GREAT. I eat here regularly. The pizza in my opinion is pretty good not the best in town but good. You have to try the cheese steak sandwiches though. The cheese steak "the works" is PHENOMENAL. I love it. It is the best cheese steak I have found in the Tri cities. The calzones are also REALLY, REALLY GOOD. The first several times eating here it was very good, and the service was top notch. Then, recently, we picked up our food and took home. It was a pizza, and was not supposed to have onions. However, it contained onions. We called and they said "We talked to the worker who made it, and he said he did not put onions on it." So, they were calling us liars. After telling them they were losing us as customers still nothing happened. Then, about 30 minutes later, they called back. They said they reviewed the camera footage that they have in the kitchen. They said it showed him putting onions on the pizza. They apologized and gave a discount for next time. read more

The food is good not amazing. The service is slow but the girl works hard. They need to get her some help. It seems she does it all and I find that extremely unfair. She never complains about it though. But, I am sure its frustrating. Went there on a Sunday the dining room was packed. 3 people were waiting for take out. It was 20 past my pick up time when I finally got my food. Not the girls fault. Some of my order was missing. I didn't call back because it wouldn't have been worth waiting again. First of all dont go here on Sunday. They were short staffed meaning one waitress to handle the packed dining room and take out orders (incoming and outgoing) The food is nice but, not so nice Ill endure a Sunday with them again. The pros is the food is better than most restaurant in the area but not better than Mad Greek. The girl although clearly pushed to the max always treats cuatomers well. I dislike the taste of their bland marinara and the fact that they put to much cheese on items. But the worst part is that I spent as much as I did an items were left out of my order. And thats the real reason I will not go back in the future. I'm sure they would make it right if they had time to answer their phones to listen to my issues. But at this point I get one day off a week and I really just wanted to have a nice meal with my family. I dont have time for get you later mistakes. My advise actively work to hire more help. Work on that sauce all the spices that are thrown on top of the pizza could go in the sauce to make it better. Train people to double check orders.
